forsten!
Hi all, please measure the size of the 15 mm figures and if Warzan is not pulling your string you might test one figure to distruction. We like destruction and also evaluate metal v plastic.
Happy weekender !! Those Drowned Earth minis look sweet
happy weekender peoples.
Very excited for NORTHAG!
Another great show. Looking forward to seeing how MEG plays out on the table – if I do think 15mm ancients are the way forward, any army I decide to buy will be based on how simple they are to paint.
I do think that small scale Historical battles work very nicely indeed – good for that epic scale.
So nothing with tartan then @robert
Celts are definitely out, and Persians!
It will just be like painting 10mm
Great episode as usual,
Great timing for waking up early down under.
I love those Diehard minis, the sci-fi range have that 80s tv show feel to them. And maybe the best skellie range available (assuming you want something ‘normal’).
The skeletons do look rather epic!
3d laser printing is sweet!!!
I was wondering if their is any Mac, Blain, Billy, Hawkins, an Poncho. to get the full squad?
Alas no.
But a few weeks ago we saw them in studio miniatures range
Shame but no doubt a long tinternet search could have some close substitute figures?
not in the GW scale and proportions, closest would be Hasslefree and they still look very tiny. If it’s a full squad you are after I would skip the GW and just get Studio Miniatures https://www.studiominiatures.com/shop/turf-war-z/us-spec-ops-kill-team-487.html
Nice easy option.
may be fun scratch building some but?
Happy Weekender Everyone!
I’ve been fighting through a massive toothache all day and one of the things that helped me get through the workday was remembering that there is a Hobby Show of Goodness coming out this afternoon. Yah…..I made it!
I’m very much looking forward to NORTHAG!
Diehard Miniatures has some minis that remind me of an old comic that I used to collect, “Alien Legion”, pretty kicka$$.
A very happy Friday to you all and to all a very happy Weekender, I hope this finds you all Grand and all staying safe. Another cracking show. Joined my very first Patreon yesterday to help support the very talented Alex and his continuing expansion of Arcworlde. Anyone looking to get into this game should check it out https://www.patreon.com/warploqueminiatures There’s some cracking 3D prints on offer, including 10% off orders.
Great to see Alex has launched his Patreon too – some great stuff on there.
I would really love to get into 3d printing. My uncle has done some really awesome stuff with his for his DND campaign.
Ben’s looking a wee bit gangsta today
Helps to tame the unruly hair from lockdown haha
That was a hat?
I thought it was your hair!
the new paints are looking good ill see what John and or Romain does a video on them first never used paints like that before.
love the show.
I’m sure we’ll have a video on them when they come out. Need to find out what works best!
They do look good but so do the other set from various companies and seeing what professional painters think about them will help individuals and myself decide what paints to go for.
Ben looks like a nun
A nun?!?
Brilliant show guys.
Just an idea for Indy of the Week, can you put all these on a separate page or section so it builds up each week into a library of those Indy’s chosen with links to the website for them and a brief outline of what they do etc.
I shall suggest it to the brothers that be, or the powers that control us…whichever 😉
That sounds like a pretty good plan!
Looking foward to this weekend
So excited for Northag!! 😀
I swear that first pic of the brutal cities could be a screen shot straight from X-COM. The more important thing….Does the Northag starter have suitable Vinnie Jones commander figure ????
Looking forward to Northag and your weekend feature to the rules and minis.
Sorry I’m late – just realised it’s the Weekend… it is isn’t it? Please tell me it is! You’re not messing with us by posting even earlier like on a Thursday or anything?
I posted on a wintergatan video that it helped me realise when we hit Wednesday.. someone told me they’d posted it on Tuesday as a bonus. My week was wankered
Got an email yesterday. That Brutal Cities terrain is up, and it’s looking very tempting even with shipping all the way from Oz!
https://brutalcities.com/collections/all
As for Brother Vinni’s Saga offering… a fully Lagertha led Maiden army complete with berserkers is now possible… just don’t let your shield down as their ‘ninnies’ bear down on you!
Must admit looking forwards to see how NORTHAG pans out. I’ve been disappointed with Team Yankee, not because of the game, but because “how” the playerbase ended up playing (ie no infantry, and walls of top tier tanks, and to an extent the same thing happened with Flames of War. Again not Battlefront at fault, but the playerbase).
Hopefully we will not see the same happen with NORTHAG, and we actually see reasonable ToEs and ORBATS being used 🙂
I would say the scenarios need to be set so ONLY infantry can take objectives and too many tanks cause a negative effect for the player over using them.
Of course, we all know that Tanks sell and most folks want hardware on the table. So i guess it’ll come down to pick your opponent carefully. If someone is playing in a fashion you don’t care for, just decline the match. I know that that won’t work for a tournament but I don’t play tournaments much.
Yup, I think it’s as Gerry would say “People are the worst”.
Problem with Team Yankee/Flames of War is the organisational charts allow players to field an all tank army. Is it unhistorical? You betcha….and that’s why lots of players do it I think (are Wargamers mostly contractarians?).
I actually got a Dutch Army for Team Yankee (went with Leo 1s and M113s plus support elements), and was basically laughed of the table by the “tourney” players for fielding “ineffective infantry”. Couldn’t believe it when I heard that one. Alas it seems to be a thing went a manufacturer “pushes” the tourney scene as the priority focus for post purchase games (saw it with Tie Fighters, Space Marines, Tanks etc) the “period” genre doesn’t matter, it’s more the hard compedative element where it’s all about building the killer army list that attracts a rather unhealthy elements (or the “worst”). Not saying all Tourney players are this ultra competitive, but there is a vocal minority that seems to impact a game far more than their numbers should normally allow.
So for NORTHAG I’m hoping to see TOEs, ORBATS, “Refights” (well fictional refights, such as the battles in the Team Yankee fiction book itself (which features LOTS of infantry BTW). And given it’s by the team that did Battlegroup rules, I’m expecting that’s what we’re going to see happen 🙂
Interview with the writer tomorrow at 10 you will be very happy I think…and maybe shocked
Since Flames of War v4 came out Infantry have come into their own and you see more of it on the table, not just dug-in around objectives but also leading assaults. I’m hoping the latest WW3:TY version (previously TY:WW3) has the same effect.
Still interested to see what NORTHAG has to offer though gamewise at both 10mm and 15mm.
I think 10mm modern is a great scale and really look forward to playing Northag. The new starter sets look very nice.
happy weekender!
Im excited for Northag. Skeptical of the minis, but will to give them a better look
Go check the video on the PSC Facebook page of the Chieftain tank I abused earlier…
If it stops bent barrels and spears it’s already a winner in my book
I don’t think players realise just how zoomed in those photo’s are. With the MBTs being about an inch long, the PSC plastics are pretty detailed given the scale and medium.
There are going to be a bit bigger than an inch long if there 10mm figures
Good show guys! Really enjoy the news segment. Keep that up. If my visit in July still happens hopefully by then I’ll be able to visit in person. Good to see you working on opening back up ideas!
Great show today boys. Man…. My wallet is going to get drained soon!!!! So much cool stuff being released rite now. Those SCALE 75 paints look killer! Way more variety than GW. Anyways. Have a great weekend everyone. See you guys on Sunday
I’m going to follow Gerry’s lead and just try the entire set of INSTANT COLORS Paints for Gamers.
I’m getting lazy with the contrasts paints. I use them for a base coat on the miniatures and then hit them with additional highlights (when I’m motivated).
Great show, been watching Northag for a while looks very very tempting.
Weekender time. 🙂
Those snake people from Die Hard look really good. Now i have to come up with a display idea for them.
Gator hunting you say….? there was a story from one of our mildly “crazy” southern American friends chatting about hunting Gator’s with high explosives… “count me in!” XD
I’d be interested to see a comparison vid for Northag and Team Yankee.
10 am tomorrow has a little of it. I need to read them both to see.
The scale paints look interesting. Not tried any type of contrast paint yet perhaps I should.
I love the look of The Drowned Earth.
Great show cannot wait for NORTHAG!
Great Episode again guys! Keeping me sane through this weird time!
Northag Northag Northag
Love the 3d billboard
Happy Weekender! Great stuff from Drowned Earth. I keep looking at this game, but I need to gauge how much interest my gaming groups would have – it seems to have sailed under the radar locally.
I’ve also been looking at 3d printing – but I;m not sure whatI would use it for – which is stunting my first decision – FDM or Resin. I love the way resin printers have come on – to the point where printing minis is now a genuine option. But am I more likely to print terrain? I don’t know!
I do have a question though – where can I get an OTT tee shirt???!!! I cannot find them on the webstore.
We do keep wanting to do merch haha
I’m late… but I’ve got a written excuse… have to clean the oven now, will watch later
Thanks for the show! Looking foreward to that Northag Interview.
Cheers!
Awesome!! The NorthAG thingamajingy looks promising. But glorious 6mm is the way to go 🙂 🙂 🙂
15mm? Oh no, not yet another scale to start collecting…
Looking forward to NORTHAG
Loving the new Drowned Earth entry point option.
The Die Hard sci-fi stuff could come in really useful
Diehard miniatures awesome looking minis great weekender show as always guys! ?
I may take a closer look at MeG over the weekend. I have some Qin army miniatures in 28mm and have been looking around for a suitable set of rules for them.
Awesome show
Wish I had a 3d printer 🙁
Great show guys. really looking forward to NorthAG. i am sorry I did not do the pre-order. Also, really loving those Die Hard Miniatures. Will have to check them out more. Stay safe all!
Great weekender I can recommend the Diehard mandalorian mini, it’s excellent
Guys thanks for the show, see you all tomorrow.
Agree with Warren that the Knights Templar & Richard the Lionheart period is very interesting. Love reading an learning about this period, though the amount of models usually for me is a put off, like the Napoleonic wars. A skirmish version fighting in the streets of Acre would be good (though no Samurai required!)
Oooh nice billboard! Needs me one of them for Fallout!
On the visitor centre, please go slow on any sort of reopening. Any and all contacts and movement need to be limited to get us through to the other side. It sucks, but it is what it is. The click and collect sounds reasonable though.
P.S. Consider stocking Core Space so I can order the new stuff from you. 😉
So much good stuff on this episode! Baron’s War, NorthHAG, MeG, some amazing D&D models… not sure there were enough badgers.. but there is always Sunday!
Who can fit more than too many mini metal men in his hobby den? Gerry can. I think he might have the same red phone as in Danger Mouse (some might need to use the Wayback Machine for that).
Had missed the Robin Hood minis in the Barons Wars KS. I painted GW’s “not Robin Hood” minis before moving out of Nottingham, to mark the occasion. They were the last things I painted till I found this site. Happy days, and I may pick these up out of soppiness.
Excited for the Northag range. Haven’t played Battlegroup before and will be interested to hear more about it tomorrow 🙂
Another Great Weekender……. “Marines we are leaving!” Lot’s of goodness this week and looking forward to getting my hands on the Battlegroup goodies
I’ve been looking at scale 75 paints they dont seem to what you to just slap it on to me and they released these so for showing someone doing one of there busts so I thought id link them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJZdzrtybI8&feature=youtu.be 2nd painting cloth & leather
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEUUGzPPq3k 3rd Painting NMM, metals and woods
Would be nice to see you guys possible stock Scale 75 range as I have some of there paints but there other stuff nice as well and be nice to see you stock another paint range and they have a new range Environment kits look intresting.
I wonder how many BoW viewers even get that ‘Everybody is Kung Fu Fighting’ reference…
Ah man. I thought I would be able to buy the new Catachan miniature as a present for my brother. It is a shame that the stores are getting so little of this miniature.
Well I will just have to order some “normal” 40K stuff at the On Table Top store.
3d prints man, i’d love to but just don’t have the space.
So glad to see you showcase Diehard minis. Good on you OTT. I’ve supported every kickstarter so far (5) and have an enormous painting queue as a result. The minis are absolutely gorgeous if you like oldhammer style and retro stuff. Next Kickstarter will focus on magic users and I’m sure there will be some sci-fi sculpts as well. Reasonably priced compared to others in the market and why would you not want an example mini or more from the legend that is Tim Prow.
You guys weren’t kidding when you send Mortem et Gloriam has hundreds of army lists! I can now play any Polish army from the 9th to 16th centuries! …I think the wife will not be happy about this…
Happy saturday!
Thanks for The Drowned Earth – New Game; Ulaya Chronicles, it looks interesting…
See you guys on XLBS!
Another Cracking episode folks! Good to hear Drowned Earth is still going strong. I was hoping to see them at Adepticon.. but that went side-ways lol. Looking forward to seeing the KS though.
Looking forward to Northag! Great weekender as always!
Dinosaurs. Can’t ever go wrong!
Is NORTHAG only for 10mm? I mean I’d like to be able to play it in a range from 15mm (Teem Yankee) to 6mm (CHQ Models)
Any game is for any scale
Maybe, but I don’t want to do maths for the ranges.
Northag is scale agnostic… it’s designed for anything from 6mm to 15mm.
If that’s so, then i should give it a try.
Thanks.
as always a great show
About the fancy catachan colonel you’ll probably see a 3d print version o thingyverse and knowing them they’ll do the rest of the team to match
That billboard is useful for so many things… anything after the modern period (post modern, apocalyptic, sci-fi, etc.)
We’ll likely use it for Infinity and (maybe printed at a different scale) Gaslands. We’ll leave it at the club and the other guys might even use it in 40k. Who knows…. whenever the club opens again….
So many fantastic Kickstarters! Great show as ever, thanks guys!
A lot of interesting content this weekend. I really love Brutal cities terrain and it looks fantastic for skirmish games. The Instant Colours are also looking quite amazing. I really would like to see them compared to GW contrast paints. Sadly the kickstarter is out of my league and I will probably wait for them to come to stores.
I think its time I got a 3D printer….
Another great weekender, although with no ‘week’ as such life is getting confusing.
I am curious about the Northag. And if they end up releasing Swedish 10mm stuff for it, I will gladly abandon ship on Team Yankee and embrace Northag!
(And I am a big fan of the 10mm scale too… )
28mm master race
Wonderful over dub.
Good show.
Lots of interesting stuff, thank you, guys!
Instant colors look great. Think I am going to wait though. The shipping to States hurts the value for me.
I missed Drowned Earth, so I’ll have to check out this new game.
good one folks, really late viewing it this week
