Battlefront Miniatures will this weekend be expanding the options for those diving into World War III: Team Yankee - Red Dawn. There are some nice tanks, transports and troops for you to get stuck into and perhaps use in addition to your Starter Force for Red Dawn.

The first of the new sets coming out this weekend is the T-64BV. It featured a lot of innovative design features that made it a mainstay of the Soviets during the time. All of those little packs strapped to the tank are (I am reliably informed) there to take out incoming shots with little bundles of explosives. Sounds like it would have made life inside one of these tanks an even noisier affair than it already was.

If you want to make sure that your infantry get where they need to go then there is also this BMD Company set coming out to support your invasion of America.

What's fun about these particular vehicles is that you actually get to drop these from the sky! I'm not kidding. They would strap parachutes to these and drop them from planes. The crew would then come down separately and rush over to their vehicles, clambering into them and giving them the ability to move quickly to where the fighting was thickest. They also come with a decent complement of weapons.

Soviet Infantry Packs

As well as the vehicles, you can also get your hands on the blue beret-wearing Soviet infantry that is going to be essential for holding objectives as the invasion begins.

Air Assault Platoon // World War III: Team Yankee

The Air Assault Platoon comes armed to deal with any issues that arise. You've got soldiers armed with AK-74s and AKM as well as three RPG-7 teams that can be used to knock out armour. There is also a Formation Commander for this set also armed with either AK-74 or AKM.

If you need some even heavier support on the ground then you can also call on the aid of the Air Assault Heavy Weapons set.

This set comes with two 82mm BM-37 Teams, two SA-14 Gremlin Teams, one AGS-17 Grenade Launcher Team and for good measure, a PKM LMG Team to seal the deal. All of these releases will be available this weekend and you can snag them from Store.OnTableTop!
