Spectre Miniatures has upgraded their GRU Spestnaz collection and their Technical set with some new options for those getting stuck into combat during the modern era. Let's start with the Russians.

New Breachers have been added to the collection with an array of different shields for added protection and weapon options for every situation.

While I think that this soldier here, Bravo, might have a use for that shield I think that Alfa has a decidedly better chance of survival with that bigger shield. I suppose it would be more cumbersome though!

Additionally, you can also pick up more weapons to fight the bad guys with.

Assembling your crack team, the next part of the puzzle is working out how they are going to deal with an upcoming situation. The gameplay in Spectre is tense and it's great to see more tools from the modern warfare toolkit to play with.

Technically Brilliant

You can also grab some big Technicals from Spectre which can adorn the street, be used as moving cover, or maybe even have weapons mounted on them.

Both Alfa and Bravo can be crewed by insurgents or maybe even your own troops.

New weapons then make them all the more deadly with a number of different guns laying down covering fire and pinning your men down.

As you can see they look rather exceptional and the image of warfare in the modern era is coming to life nicely with this collection. Now you just need to decide where you're going to be fighting so you can build a board worthy of these models.
