CP Models have begun their range of World War I miniatures with the addition of some British Infantry to their line-up. As it stands they have two sets featuring soldiers both Firing and Advancing for your British Expeditionary Force of 1914...

I must admit that until last year I knew very little about the conflicts during World War I apart from what I'd see on Blackadder. Thankfully the BBC and their series of programs on The Great War were very informative and bought up a lot of interesting options for us wargames to explore on the tabletop.

Not All Trenches!

It wasn't all trench warfare and there were plenty of pitched battles and skirmishes in the early years. The Battle of Mons was an engagement that really caught my attention and featured soldiers from the Expeditionary Force in the conflict.

Now, seeing miniatures like this from CP Models I have to say that I think the old school uniforms were awesome and the weapons were that interesting mix of old school Victorian technology and what was emerging through industrial experimentation during the early 20th Century.

With that in mind I think that it would be fantastic to play out some 28mm battles in World War I.

Have you done much wargaming in World War I?
