Enjoy The Last Airbender? Fans of Aang, Zuko and Katara will be thrilled to know of the upcoming tabletop RPG coming soon from Magpie Games, entitled Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game, which is coming to Kickstarter on August 3rd. And now you can access a free set of rules and a short playtest prior to the campaign release.

Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game // Magpie Games

There were rumours afoot last year, with the confirmation from Magpie Games that this title would be joining the wealth of incredible stories and worlds that we already have. Being a fan of the franchise, this world is certainly one I would love to peer into - and I am glad of its confirmation and a date to come along with it.

Before the Kickstarter goes live, Magpie Games have provided a 55-page PDF that encompasses a set of Quickstart Rules and a small adventure for those who want to get a feel of the universe. This PDF will allow you to take a glimpse into the world, guide you through character creation and walk you through the adventure-building partition. Even better, you get a free adventure too entitled The Forbidden Scroll to playtest the RPG. And it is completely free! All you have to do is provide your email address on the Magpie Games website here, and you will then be sent a PDF outlining the goodies - before you commit to the Kickstarter.

Players of Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game will get the option to choose from several sourcebooks to decide which character they would like to build, and the bending abilities that go along with it! What I am personally glad to hear, is the game system itself is based more on the role-playing side of the narrative within the world, rather than having too much pressure on the combat. Meaning lots to explore, lots of people to meet, and lots to adventure - with a few battles along the way.

The Kickstarter is ready to go live on the 3rd of August, with the core rulebook and two expansions - plus I imagine some stretch goals to sweeten it further - as per usual!

Would you like the enter The Last Airbender franchise as an RPG?
