The Civil War Experience On Kickstarter From DOC Educational Games

Are you a fan of the American Civil War (ACW) time period? Are you like me and love seeing a beautiful table laid out with incredible terrain and massive amounts of miniatures recreating some of the most famous battles?
However, are you like me and have terrible nightmare at all those miniatures to clean and paint? How about putting all that stuff away? Well. DOC Educational Games has come up with a nice way to get your ACW fix in without all those hassles with The Civil War Experience Card Game.
They have created a card game where you can play as the Union or the Confederacy. In this game you have 6 different card types to replicate infantry, cavalry, artillery, gear, resources and extraordinary circumstance.
In this game you will have to manage your troops and resources to keep you army going. There is some luck involved with dice rolling to assess successful hits against your opponents. What does it take to win this game? Eliminate your opponent from the battlefield, plain and simple. So, this begs the question how good of a general are you? Will you lead the Union army all the way to Atlanta or will you command your Confederates in the taking of Washington D.C.?
While this game was designed by a history teach as a fun and easy way for his students to learn about the ACW, anyone who is interested in this time period would enjoy this as well. Nothing like gloating over your decisive victory with your opponent with drinks at the pub.
Are you up for a quick game?
"Will you lead the Union army all the way to Atlanta or will you command your Confederates in the taking of Washington D.C?"

that would be the FREE drink for winning? from the defeated general.
sounds like a good game.
Well looked interesting as i have a real interest in the ACW and games based around it.
I then saw the video which just was annoying, what was all that stuff with the teenagers running around about?,
Then seeing it was only available as a boxed game if you live in the states, I dont want to print my own version.
Therefore in the words of Dragons Den “I’m Out.”
It looks like a very “on a shoestring” production (maybe a student or a very new high school teacher) and I think that is what the silly kid in the video stuff is all about. My assumption is that maybe this is something a high school history teacher thought up as a way to help teach students (the video is peppered with reference to that) and then realized it could also appeal to wargaming fans. No clue on that though just speculating. I hope they fund, I’d honestly rather see something like this succeed than yet another bad board game… Read more »
Well, personally, it seems to me that in such a format it is much easier to perceive and understand such information. I would love to play it for sure and may will write a review like a did it for https://eduloh.com/papersowl-com-review/, thanks for a great idea.
Very cool, these educational games are exactly what we need for high school. Moreover, it’s easy to adapt to other age categories of children. I have always believed that playful education is more effective and that this method can be introduced from a very young age. I think if we had such opportunities, we could be more educated. Now I’m having some problems with this, I need to prepare a personal statement and I don’t know how to do it correctly. I made residency personal statement editing and hope to get it right. I didn’t know that such a simple… Read more »
