We were gifted a teaser of the upcoming Defence Of The North supplement for Games Workshop's Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game earlier this year. They are now sharing more information on the book, new miniatures and more for this next book!

In this book, you'll find the Free Peoples of Middle-earth assailed from the North (as you might have guessed). Whilst Gondor and Rohan face the forces of Mordor in the South, Sauron's plots and plans have brought the forces of the Orcs alongside the Easterlings to battle against the men of Dale, Dwarves of Erebor and even threaten the halls of Thranduil.

The book will contain new profiles for both Good and Evil, updated army lists, twenty-two narrative play scenarios, a campaign system for linking them together and six Legendary Legions for making themed armies.

You'll also find new miniatures in the form of Razgûsh and Muzgúr...

Razgush And Muzgur - Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

Razgûsh And Muzgúr // Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

Razgûsh acts as the war leader of Sauron's Northern forces. He stands at the head of the armies of Dol Guldur and is seeking to crush their woodland realms thanks to his mace, Bone-breaker. He looks fearsome and a proper hulk, a good option for those looking to play with their Evil forces during this time period.

Muzgúr on the other hand is an Orc Shaman. No one knows where he claimed his power but he is able to feed his sorcery on the dead. He can summon up more Will from those he has slain which makes him a fearsome foe.

The Easterlings Cometh

We also mentioned the fact that the Easterlings were battling against the forces of Good in the North. This is a teaser of one of the upcoming miniatures for this particular force!

Easterlings Teaser - Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

Easterlings Teaser // Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game

One would assume that he is the Dragon Emperor Of Rhûn that was mentioned by Games Workshop, held aloft by his faithful servants. It feels right that we're seeing the forces of the Easterlings given a new lease of life but I am also happy to see any Middle-earth news coming out of the folks at Games Workshop.

Are you going to be picking up this new supplement?
