Fight As The Grizzled Thrakians In Footsore’s Mortal Gods
June 22, 2020 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games has a pair of new models for those building up a new force in Mortal Gods, their game of classical wargaming clashes in Ancient Greece. This time around we have two characters for your Thrakian warbands.
Thrakian Lochagos // Mortal Gods
The Thrakians were down-trodden people who lived a hard life in the wilderness. Their hard life did turn them into very brutal and effective warriors. Very often, perhaps led by their Lochagos, they would have to fight to reclaim their own lands from invading armies, tackling thieves and bandits who made their lives a misery.
As well as the Lochagos, we also have the Thrakian Promachos who also enters the fray, grizzled and ready for a fight.
Thrakian Promachos // Mortal Gods
As one of the members of the individual tribes that made up the Thrakian peoples, perhaps you could find a way to unite them under one banner and have them battle against the threat of invasion from other warring nations.
Sometimes it is good if you're the underdog! If nothing else, it leaves you feeling a lot more heroic when you do eventually pull off a victory.
Are you going to be picking up these miniatures?

That Lochagos on the first picture looks like grumpy old man Luke Skywalker XD
They look good.
Always knew them as “Thracians” from Thrace (obviously got it wrong all these years), interestingly (if I remember right) the Thracian/Trakians were the “pioneers” of the Peltast form of warfare (or throw something at the enemy then run away) which the Greeks then adopted. So your Trachian/Thrakian warband should be full of types likely to throw things and run away (rather than get stuck in melee types). Another thing is the MAJOR challenge to painters in the cloak decorations they used, better get out that fine detail brush because it’s going to be as complex as painting tartan again 😀… Read more »
Those are really nice.
