Osprey Games has announced a third entry in the Imperium series of card games. Another empire-builder is on the cards (hah) with Imperium: Horizons which is slated for release next year in 2023.

Imperium Horizons - Osprey Games

Imperium: Horizons // Osprey Games

Nigel Buckle & Dávid Turczi have joined forces once again for this one-to-four player asymmetric card game of civilisation building. The previous releases in the series, Classics and Legends, were great fun to play and a neat twist on normally mammoth board games that take hours and hours to play.

Mihajlo Dimitrievski is back as the artist and you'll find yourself now taking on the role of civilisations like the Taino, Inuit, Aksumites, Mayans, Tang and the Sassanids. But, that's not all. There are going to be FOURTEEN civilisations included within this new set.

The focus of Imperium is to try and expand your civilisation to become an all-powerful nation without overstepping the mark and falling into ruin. It's a delicate balancing act and the mechanics behind the Imperium games are really fun to dive into.

Whilst this is a standalone game in its own right, Imperium: Horizons is also compatible with Classics and Legends so that you can mix and match which civilisations clash at the tabletop. There is also a new Trade module included in the game that helps to mimic the rise and fall of economies within these civilisations.

Make sure to keep an eye out for this one when it arrives in 2023!
