Para Bellum Games has now expanded the options available to their latest 35mm scale Fantasy army, the Weaver Courts, in their wargame, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings. You can get yourself some impressive monsters for these warriors from the wilds.

Coill Draic - Conquest

Coill Draic // Conquest

We start with the impressive Coill Draic for the Weaver Courts. Whilst the Dweghom vanished the True Dragons of the world of Ea, the Draics rose in their place, born of the life force of Ferann. Leading this flight of dragon-like creatures, we have the Coill Draic. They are aloof and solitary, using their intellect and knowledge to defend the Weaver Courts and their hidden places.

In-game, the Coill Draic can unleash wave after wave of fiery breath attacks, which will reduce your enemies to cinders on the tabletop. I absolutely love the design of the miniature as well, showcasing that Fey influence, as if the woods themselves have come to life.

If you thought the Coill Draic was strange-looking, wait until you see the screaming form of the Scoth Draic swooping down from the skies to destroy its foes.

These creatures are essentially playful and peaceful but are tricked and cajoled into battle by the Weaver Courts. You wouldn't have thought it by their faces, though! They are destructive in combat and have an interesting twist: should they perish, new life will spring from within their bodies. It quite literally has the Terraform ability, bringing a terrain piece into being where it died. Very cool.

I really like the design of both of these Draics for the Weaver Courts. They remind me SO much of the dragons from The Legend of Dragoon and the Forest Dragon in particular, that you fight early on in this classic JRPG.

Don't Follow The Lights

As well as the two BIG miniatures, we also have the Will O' Wisps, who will be floating onto the battlefield soon.

These strange creatures float through the forest, protecting it from interlopers. They will often swarm together, lashing out with their tentacles and hindering foes with noxious vapours. These aren't combatants but use their magical aura to obfuscate and misdirect before the rest of the Weaver Courts strike from the shadows.

Could you be tempted to pick up some more of these weird and wonderful releases for the Weaver Courts of Conquest?
