A bunch of Star Wars news dropped over the last few days. The Star Wars Celebration meant a bunch of brand new shows for Disney+ and movies that are set to expand the Star Wars universe. One of the big announcements was a new Ahsoka TV show.

The new Ahsoka series sees fan favourites from Rebels returning with this fan favourite Jedi looking for support from the likes of Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren as they seek to take on a new threat to the galaxy from the deadly Thrawn. I'm sure we're going to be getting a whole host of additional surprises in this series including the return of one Ezra Bridger.

Another of the announcements that caught my attention was that Star Wars: Visions is going to be getting another series. It's awesome to see more interpretations of the Star Wars universe coming to Disney+ in animation. The first series had some hit-and-miss episodes but it was fun all the same seeing what different studios thought of the Star Wars world.

Who knows, maybe some of these ideas will end up getting turned into something more depending on how well they do. There is also the obvious bonus that more Star Wars shows mean more potential for new miniatures from Atomic Mass Games for the likes like Legion, X-Wing and Shatterpoint. Actually, it's still a little bit of a shame, at least in my opinion, that we've not seen miniatures for Rey, Finn and the rest from the sequel trilogy.

More New Movies & TV Shows

Talking of Rey, she is going to be getting a new movie which is set after The Rise Of Skywalker. She will be rebuilding the Jedi Order and no doubt facing another threat from the Sith. Whilst I wasn't impressed with the sequel trilogy itself, I do like the characters and I wish that they'd just had better stories to explore. I will be crossing my fingers in the hope that we get a fun story for Rey to dive into.

Additional movies and TV shows are also on the way from a variety of different directors and creatives. You've also got new shows like The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew to explore where we'll be seeing the Star Wars universe from the viewpoint of the Sith and more.
