Andy Hobday has announced that Warhost's new Conquest supplement for The Barons' War rules is nearing completion. Steve Beckett is working hard on the last bits and pieces of the supplement which allows you to dive into Dark Age conflict using their tried and tested mechanics.

The new supplement covers the various factions that you would have imagined would pop up during this Dark Age and Early Medieval period. The rules for The Barons' War have been tweaked to include the Vikings, Anglo-Saxons and the Normans alongside special rules for each.

Conquest Gameplay #1 - Warhost

The game has been going through playtesting over the last few months and is coming together as a neat-looking skirmish option for those eager to play more Dark Age games. It obviously matches up exceedingly well with the selection of miniature options from Footsore Miniatures & Games.

Conquest Gameplay #2 - Warhost

Conquest Battlefield // Warhost

As with The Barons' War, Conquest is focused around the idea of skirmishes and scenario play rather than just all-out murder (I'm sure you can do that though). It will be neat to see what they include as part of the core rules scenario-wise and if we get any additional campaign-based supplements as we've seen for The Barons' War.

To give you an idea of the kind of force that you might need for games of Conquest, Hobday described his 500 point list HERE. It only came in at twenty-seven figures which is nice and achievable as a fighting force!

Are you going to be giving Conquest a go when it releases?
