Doomsong: A Roleplay Macabre Kickstarter // Caesar Ink

When you dive into Doomsong, you'll go through the awesome process of becoming a Gravedigger and then, with spade at the ready, you'll be set loose on the lands at the behest of the Guild. As part of the Guild, you will be looking to make sure that the dead stay dead and buried whilst also dealing with all manner of strange monsters that have wormed their way into reality as part of this Biblical Apocalypse.

The team have done some amazing work bringing this weird and wonderful world to life. The Demo Adventure which is free on DriveThruRPG right now gives you a great idea of the background and the lore whilst also providing you with a seriously big slice of the game mechanics you'll need for playing your games.

Gravediggers // Doomsong

The core of the game mechanics are d6 based and they are very easy to get your head around. Additionally, Doomsong features a really interesting system for when you need to get stuck in and scrap in combat. It's not something I've seen before but it's quite fun having the group discuss the way in which they're going to act and when. Do you all go for quicker actions but lose out on some of the special options unlocked by going later in the initiative?

Let's Play: Doomsong - New Horror Tabletop Roleplaying Game!

If you're someone who has been enjoying the twisted Fantasy of worlds like MORK BORG then I would recommend giving Doomsong a look. It continues with that "vibe" but I really like that the game mechanics take you in a different direction. It's also just stunning seeing more of the artwork coming out for Doomsong from Moritz Krebs which sets the scene perfectly.
