Holy crap. I’m too old to be up late enough to see the Weekender before I sleep.
Game looks great. I’m am SO looking forward to playing this. This cannot come out soon enough. Winning this would be epic, but either way, I’m getting a copy.

I keep thinking Warren is secretly designing a Walking Dead scenario called Maul of America where the guys are all mall shop workers that defend against the oncoming hoard. John, who works at a sporting goods store brought the guns and baseball bats to the fight. Lloyd, the bookstore worker, has brought books on anatomy, trap making and engineering and is busy outfitting a show car display into an undead rekilling machine. Justin, the food court king is gathering provisions for the onslaught. Warren, well, he runs a kiosk selling mobile phone cases. He dies first. Horribly.
You write it son, we’ll play it!

Also, only 20-some odd Zombies. I would only have to paint 20 some odd zombies. Not 70. So happy. 😀
Being a big zombie fan, I jumped on the Mantic Kicstarter the first day. I probably backed at least 4 of their Kickstarters and I reallly dig their terrain.
Really like the look of Fanhunter. Looks weird, in a good way 🙂
I enjoy the walking dead show but would need to try the game before I jump in.
Haha, I was wondering your thought on the Walking Dead game. It seems simple enough that even if the comic/show is not your favorite show, the zombie mechanic seems quite good.
The Walking Dead looks good and fun with the chance to make personalized play zones after your favorite scenes from the series.
As for Wolsung, I will have to look into the videos for more info. First though it was just a steam-punk flavored game for general table scuffles. The way it was described made me realize that there is much more scenario involvement, and I do prefer scenario.

The Walking Dead demo game was awesome. Nice to see Mr Latham again on the Weekender. I like the idea of building on Faction synergies. Could be a brilliant game with the advanced terrain rules and a campaign/survival mode.
Every time I see the Wolsung table I give a sigh of longing. Lukasz is such a cool guy, love his friendly casual demeanor, so enthusiastic, polite and funny. The upcoming release of Wolsung 2nd edition is probably my queue to take the plunge and grab a couple of starter sets this year. Love the quirkiness of the characters, setting, and rules. It is quite possibly the most fun looking skirmish game system on the market. Aaaargh…I’m going to buy it aren’t I… 😛
The 4Ground stuff is so beautiful. Totally think gluing and dry-brushing the ‘coals’ would be awesome. Now, bring on the XLBS Weekender!

Really like the concept of Relic Blades – small scale skirmish that can eb set up and played quickly. Useful for those times when a game needs to be quick due to time constraints.
Looking forward to The Walking Dead game as well as Warlord Games’ zombie game they have coming out.

Haven’t gotten aboard the TWD fandom, neither comics or TV show. So, the most interesting thing to me about the demo video they reference were the mechanics for escalating the noise/mayhem/threat that makes the zombies more dangerous to the survivors. I don’t like being chained to a license’s survivors and characters, though.
I’d love it if Project Z by Warlord were far enough along to do some direct comparisons!

Wolsung is another game that I love to see but have no time for. I really like the aesthetic.

I really do love 4Ground. I was going to get a watchtower next, but I think that blacksmith shop is going to look better next to my Stoic Arms. Watchtower will just have to wait until next month.
Ok before I get panned, get a lot of you have nothing good to say then do not say it group. I have to say the content was far from the usual good or even average content. There is after all the saying “You cant please every one all of the time.”
So why not so chuffed.
Well I like the historical war games, on the whole I have enjoyed something in each show even if that is only one item, but this week’s is just not for me, Zombies I get my vampire army contains such troops as plague knights returned from a terrible crusade against the very Vampires they set out to destroy. I do not like the semi real Zombie apocalypse. The scenery was ok but the sci-fi gear was for me less than inspiring and the blacksmiths I did not think much of. I am sure this is a one off. I just thought if we all are pushing against an open door we will fall on our combined asses. I do not do kickstarters I like to hear about them but a little less would be nice I am sure there is plenty more content.
Gotta say I mostly agree with this. ^^^ Lots of things were totally bypassed, apparently in favor of another list of Kickstarters asking for our money.
I will say +100 for the segment on the community painting picks, though. 😀
Wow, now it’s starting on me. I speak up in defense of a friend and offer positive commentary on Community Painting Picks and that gets me panned. Wonderful.
Seriously guys…this gets negatives? Has this sight become the Lego Movie where the only thing we are allowed to say is “Everything is Awesome”? He said something GREAT about the community and content and simply said he didn’t like the time devoted to kick-starters. Unless the negatives for these posts are coming from the people who are running the kick-starters, this makes NO SENSE.

Spot on @oriskany . I’ve also reached ‘critical kickstarter mass,’ and couldn’t support more of them if I wanted to. What did people do before crowdfunding? They went to a bank, or borrowed from friendsand family, and took a gamble. Now they’re gambling with YOUR money.
Give me a good finished product and I’ll buy it. Don’t ask me to fund half-baked dreams of success, and then sip margaritas on a beach with my money.
It happens to us all occasionally. I had a weekend back end of last year when there was just nothing of interest to me in that week’s weekender. Not bad though considering how long I’ve been a subscriber to BoW; one episode in something like 3 years.

The 4Ground stuff looks really nice! I too was worried about the size of them in the pictures but after seeing them, those landing pads do look big enough for many types of landers, worth exploring for my future games of Warpath or 40k!

I’m liking the 40k series, I gave up playing 4 years ago and sold my Blood Angels and Dark Angels armies. I recently decided to build and paint a new army, though this time I decided to paint Eldar.

Walking dead is looking good. Relic blade looks awesome. I love the art work to but priced out at £70+ for the complete set and postage from the us which is a shame as the pig men are great.

My last entry managed minus 3. The reason for this is to my self simple, you cannot disagree with the majority. I do not post to be argumentative I post because I have the right to do so.
Look the weekend shows are something I look forwards to all week they are the start of the weekend. I could actually say that Unclejimmy’s thread is my start of the weekend proper. I did not put up “I” as in “I” not forcing “YOU” to agree, but that is how “I” saw this Front stage weekender.
I will now put a secondary gripe just to see if I can get even worse score for saying what I have the to say. 1, the Saturday show is often far longer than the Sunday back stagers paid for show. 2, The Backstagers show paid for to support the front none members show does not have the same luxury feature that the front stages show has, that of being able to enjoy it full screen and looking at all those ace models and new kit up close without having to get my nose on the screen for the same effect. Now before you pan me again for this seemingly terrible crime of what “I” see as constructive criticism. “I know” for a fact there is more than me out there that feels this way. Why because I have spoken to some.
If we are not able to put what we feel without being rude, stupid or just because to disagree is to be seen as argumentative, then criticism must be a damned hanging offence.
Do not worry though I shall not be commenting on the weekenders from this point on.
By the way Nakchak your piece on compressors was fantastic really looking forwards to the next instalment.

Not sure why this is getting so many negatives guys. He made a comment he was disappointed earlier and got negatives, He comments on the negatives and the sky falls on him. If you read both posts closely he was just commenting on what HE didn’t and DID like. He was very complimentary to another member’s article. This is not some angry, ranting, pot stirring member. He posts on multiple chats daily and even ran a WORLD WIDE game with Oriskany. He loves this site. .
I’ve seen this community rally around people. I’ve seen lively debates. This doesn’t seem like the community, I know, nor do I want to if anyone who disagrees gets slammed. We are not like those troll filled chats and sites. We are better than this! We are a group of people having fun sharing our hobby and should never feel bad about posting when we don’t like something (as long as it is polite, which this was).
Okay, my response was a hell of a lot less charitable, but I think @gladesrunner ‘s is presented much better.
Wow! What a turn around!!!! I’m glad I was right about this community after all 😉 I just want to stress, I do not have a problem with someone disagreeing with what someone else comments, especially if you feel strongly. Its just when people clip down (or up for that matter) just because someone else does, that we run into problems. Also, if you do really disagree, say so and say why, you may be surprised at the positive response you get…take my responses to this issue for example.
Loving the show again guys! Can’t wait until I can actually afford to back you properly with a backstage membership!!
I am kinda curious to try Walking Dead even though I definitely do not have money to shove into the kickstarter and lots of other projects on the go already…

Think I have found my ideal holiday location- your game room as could spend a few weeks looking throu the shelfs of buildings and making loads of various game boards. 🙂
Great shows guys. One criticism/suggestion. I enjoy seeing Ben on vid while you guys are chatting but when you switch to a photo to show us, instead of splitting the screen which can make it difficult to make out the image on smaller screens could you switch to full screen so we can see the images you display.
Completely agree, it’s a technical/cost issue we haven’t been able to solve yet though 🙂

The 40k battle report i will be having a good look at, and the following report`s to come. Not played 40k for a few year`s, but now with you guy`s doing battle report`s i`m edging toward`s finishing my own designed “Chapter” poss get back to it sometime this year maybe.
I have a an airbrush and Compressor not used it yet, got it of a very good friend of mine a while back. So will read the report and see about having a go, not sure when but it will be soon.
Every time i watch anything to do with Wolsung, i`m getting drawn in to it a little more each time. At the moment i still have not had that moment where a faction has jumped out at me and got me by the throat, so for now i`ll just keep watching.
Loving the walking dead game, never read the comic`s but i have watched the series (roll on tomorrow night, and stay away from FB). Like Justin i`d like to see “Darrell” turn up at some point, it`s just not the same with out him his bike and cross bow.
Liking the look of the new 4Ground Terrain, both fantasy and sci-fi. Liking the “Black Smith`s” a very nice piece. Justin`s idea of gluing the dry brushing the little coal`s is a good idea, but i looked at it and thought of another way. How about an LED with little crystal`s, dry brush them turn on the LED and instant fire glow. May/may not work but you never know guy`s it may just work.
Now of to get ready for work tomorrow morning, up at half 4. When i get home after work i`ll be watching Sunday`s weekender, so until then night and catch you all tomorrow.

Really into my zombie game at the moment, so really looking for to the Walking Dead. Can’t afford the kickstarter but put an advance notice into my local game store to let me know when they will be hitting the shelves. Wow great show, lots of good news. I love the feel of Relicblade. You have sad it before, it feels like the old Heroquest. Some cool looking heroes and the pigs are some nice evil minions. The mechanics are very good. I like beer&pretzels. 45 minutes and 2′ by 2′ sounds like some good fun games with all my friends, not only the wargamers.
The Walking Dead sounds as a very nice boardgame. The miniatures look very good. And using walkers against your opponent sounds fantastic. I really agree to see a shoppingmall game. Please build one and show it. I think they are smart to follow the comics and not the movies.
Great to see more of Wolsung. I love their miniatures and there fluff. I am looking forward to see the battle report. I want to dig in the rules more. The inventors are very cool.
Fanhunter is cool, but I only want the comics. I am no fan of a wargame of it. But that’s only my opinion.
And the 4ground scenery. I really love it! I have some of my own and the quality is sky high. I think I will glue the coals into the blacksmith. Maybe build a led light into it. Then it will shine. I put some electic lighters into my buildings too. Fantastic to play a game of Malifaux in the night. All the buildings are shining with some warm lights in to it.

As a newbie to this site, gotta say, you gents cover everything! The Walking Dead KS led me over her, and I’m happy it did. Keep up the great work.
The Mordenburg terrain on that quick Bolt-Action style table looks fantastic and I really like the grouping of the buildings which feels quite natural. Hmm, I really need to get some buildings from that range..

Good content in the latter half of the show. Unfortunately the start was all a bit superfluous for people who visit BoW regularly, like me.
Walking Dead looks great but not sure of value for money yet. I’m going to try out the rules and proxy figures from last night on earth, using terrain from batman (e.g. SWAT van) and Mars Attacks / Deadzone. My cousin has all the zombicide sets so maybe tie them in.
Backed the Wolsung Kickstarter, delighted with the minis and rules. The Walking Dead one looks great too !!

@dignity The Ragnar and co miniatures are great.. I started a thread a few months ago when I built my SAGA war band. I’ve been watching Walking Dead TV since I watched the Walking Dead demo game the other day. Checked out the comic book website and downloaded the latest Walking Dead rules free PDF. Just putting labels on dice as we speak to get this game played. (Especially love the idea of solo play.)
Hobby Lab just provided me with guidance on security fencing and pallets and at some point I will be making palm trees too.

This Walking Dead seems great!
You can just see now how tabletop gaming grows on people. Few years back if you told me ‘board game’ I would think Monopoly now… Imperial Assault or Myth or ZOMBICIDE. Zombie theme is very popular now in all media. You will find it from movies though books, comics, TV series (based on comic series 🙂 to games, those on screen and on the table. Even just looking on tabletop games the choice we have is amazing : co-op, competitive, solitaire, board, dice, card, and finally MINIATURES. This time ALL OUT WAR. Total annihilation. Strongest survives. BUT… if zombies are controlled by AI why not try co-op? What about narrative play Mantic is mentioning? This game will be with us for long ride.

Didn’t think I would look at another zombie game but this does look damn awesome. Not just the characters you know from the comics and tv show but the twist on the gameplay.
