Happy Sunday …
Happy Sunday!
Az – I get it your excitable but can you dial it down from 11 to say 8 or 9 while presenting please? For the non Irish audience when your excited there is no audible break between words in your delivery.
Lol. We’ll have to investigate giving him a relaxing rub down before filming starts to see if it makes a difference 😉
Maybe presenting from a hot tub might help the presenters relax
Actually that’s a really bad idea. Forget I mentioned it
I can only imagine how they’d be making bubbles …………………
A waterproof Dobble has just been released plus I’m sure @warzan wouldn’t mind me playing with his Ork sub…. relaxing hot tub plans formulating <3 Az
Az, keep doing what you are doing – the energy on the show is great!
Happy Sunday!!
A Sunday when I get to induct a couple of board gamers into the world of Malifaux 2e. I’ll soon turn them into full, ‘dribbling at the new shiny’, tabletop gamers!
If you’re into your Robot-wars and martial arts with weapons, another thing people might want to watch out for is UWM (Unified Weapon Master) which – thanks to the development of lightweight, sci-fi looking armour – will pit fighters with some bad-ass weapons against each other.

Sunday afternoon greetings from Down Under or more colloquially – G’day
Don’t worry about it, Justin. Pathfinder OP is designed to let you drop in and out to suit your schedule 🙂
I’d reply about longevity and the pace of releases, but I don’t want to scoop myself on something I’ll be posting on the site in the very near future…
Happy Sunday. Loved Az’s reaction to WWX it has always been a favourite of mine since it’s release and the fact he is so stoked about the new edition just proves that it is in good hands
Burrows and Badgers is a great game, and I love the miniatures. It reminds me of an old RPG called Bunnies and Burrows by Steve Jackson Games.
http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/bunnies/
The original bunnies and burrows was by FGU in the 70’s
Didn’t know that, only played the SJG version…its a fun game to play…
It came out a about a year after D&D. It was the first RPG to allow the players to have skill sets like hunting, watching etc
I’m currently purchsing anthromorphic minis from Bushido and other ranges for an Asian flavoured warband for the other half to play. I’ll then flavour the rules so she play. Her leader is a Panda, so will be painted up like Kung Fu Panda lol
Happy Sunday everyone 🙂 Az
@dignity those Sumo wrestling robots were freaking amazing! The speed some of them can build up and the little programmed tactics for dodges and baiting charges was great to see 🙂 Az
Hearing Az reminds me of when my missus is pissed with me and listing my short comings (she’s a NI native). Gave me some conflicting feelings….
He reminded me of an old student who use to drink one of those large energy drinks at lunch time. He’d cone back to lesson just like Az lol…..I was waiting for him to start bouncing around the studio lol
Happy Sunday everyone. Great show guys, love the enthusiasm, was great to watch while I hobby. I would love to see some more of you guys battle reports, let’s see Az’s Tau facing off against @dignity Deathguard, eh?
Happy Sunday everyone
Not much to add, except…I absolutely adore those badgers Ben painted. They look so cute and dangerous at the same time.
Oh..and i would love to see Romain paint the Beowulf figure. How much is it? I would seriously consider donating it to him, if we could get painting tutorials (yes! chest hairs!) on that one.
Thank you – I’ve painted up three more of the characters over the weekend, utterly addicted to them!
Is there anywhere we can see them? I’m so extremely tempted to get a range of these critters myself.
have to agree with Az on x-wing FFG really aren’t taking advantage of the games potential.
I know it’s super popular, and with good reason, but it could be so much more. I want to see scenario and mission packs that let me play out the classic moments. the trench run is a must and I just don’t understand why there isn’t a official scenario pack or even better a starter set.
scenario A coming out of hyper space and playing out the approach to the death star. avoiding Turbo laser fire while fighting your way past swarms of tie fighters, can’t believe they don’t have rules for turbo lasers turrets. scenario B the turbo lasers go of as your squad or squads, depending how the first scenario went, start there trench run and Lord Vader enters the fray. how about the Falcon turning up on a dice roll, epic would not begin to describe a late game arrival of the millennium falcon taking out Vader and leaving Luke free to make that shot. as for when the x-wings open up over the lake at Takodana in TFA, I cried like a baby.
Why o why does this scenario not exist. they could really go to town and there are so many to go at. place down new mats or tiles based off a larger grid to simulate the trench run or Ray and Finns chase scene over the sands of Jakku .throw in linked Armada scenarios to have the capital ships influence proceedings. pull your finger out FFG and make this happen, people will go nuts.
the way you go from scene to scene in the big battles like the battle of Endor is just made for linked scenarios over there multiple gaming systems. want to blow up the death star? got to take down the shield generator on the forest moon.
All the potential of a 30 year game.
burrows and badgers, awesome. question is are you going to world build so you can get some mouse guard in with miniatures as well and did you get the mouse house?
As a huge X-Wing fan who owns almost all the models and many duplicates I thought I would respond.
X-Wing is mostly a competitive miniatures game. It has a ton of meta and a ton of strategy. This is how it is mostly played. However, if you want to play casual, there are print-n-play scenarios either from fans or FFG.
First off, FFG does have several official scenarios and they are included with many of the larger ships. These ships are called Epic. They have currently released as part of Wave XI for the CROC Epic ship a scenario that is available on the FFG website.
At the FFG website there is a community website where many have contributed fan made scenarios.
Of all the fan made scenarios, the Trench Run (linked in the show notes) is popular and it is played at every GenCon since 2014. You can even download the terrain to print out and make your own 2D terrain.
The second EXTREMELY popular scenario is Heroes of the Aturi Cluster. It is a print and play with terrain and scenarios and you play against an AI solo or co-op.
All of the scenarios you suggested can be created by you. There is nothing to stop you and you can borrow rules from many other fan and FFG scenarios. It is just a matter of joining the community and being part of the official FFG forums or /r/XWingTMG subreddit. If you come up with something popular you will have plenty of fans willing to play the scenario and refine it.
I encourage you if you are interested, to get involved with the community.
The Star Wars Extended Universe and Legacy Universe has a mountain of fluff from which you can create scenarios and there are even two cartoons series (Clone Wars and Rebels) that can add flavor and scenarios. It is all there.
Given this is the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars and we have been talking about properties that are long lasting, I would love to see BoW do something with X-Wing before the December 2017 release of “The Last Jedi” — There is no reason why they cannot have a Legacy game that starts with Tatooine III , Death Star I, Battle of Hoth and Death Star II. If you read the M. A. Stackpole Rogue Squadron series of books there is plenty of source material including the list of pilots who died in each battle.
Really, just like 30K or 40K, your limit is really just your imagination and time to create a world in which to play in.

great show guys, for you JUSTIN if you can’t get chance to play pathfinder here is a great channel that may help you get into the universe or at least you can enjoy some of the game content:

Good evening one and all, hope you all had a wonderful Sunday.
I`m loving the Warpath Vehicles for the “Space Dwarves”, just a pity i have`t kept up with warpath for a few year`s. On the other hand if i sell of some hobby i don`t require anymore, i could re-start up my space Dwarves again.
Now the Tile Based 3D Terrain For X-Wing, is one of the best boards i have seen in a long time (3D board that is). I would love to back this, but the price tag for the board alone (even at the bottom level) is a bit out of my price range. So for the moment all`s i can do is admire and and try not to “DROLL” to much.
Zealot’s Mighty Beowulf, now there`s a master piece i would never touch with paint brush. It`s beyond my skill level, and the old eyesight’s not what it used to be.
starting at around 25 minutes, video stops every 2-3 minutes… decided to stop it for today…
hi @duster – did you try it on another device?
Hapy sunday to you guys and thank you all for the kind words regarding my Death guards. Now I just have to keep going posting 🙂
How is your army going Justin (@dignity)?
Great Sunday show guys! Not into X-Wing, but that terrain makes it tempting.
I find the boardgamer moving more into wargaming an interesting topic as i am finding myself going the other direction.
I have a lot of miniatures for quite a number of games ( warmahordes, 40k, guild ball, bushido, helldorado, vor, dropzone, bloodbowl, dread ball, konflikt 47, relic knights, infinity)
I enjoy playing games the most followed by building miniatures and the least enjoyable aspect is painting. So the much lower prep time needed for board games is very appealing along with a lot of diverse themes and a much broader range of game mechanisms to enjoy.
Curious to how many other people are going down a similar path?
I’ve always played both, but the balance in recent years has swung quite heavily away from minis to board and card games. Not by design, it’s just that’s what I get to play, and it is in part because it’s much easier to play them, and hence I’m much more likely to get games of those in as opposed to minis games.
Mini games can only be played with those who also have a passion for that mini game. Board games have a broader audience and the setup, play and put away is a lot easier. Even a heavy Euro is easier to play than some of the miniature rulesets.
The Kickstarter issue creating a snack culture is very true. I’ve had this conversation before on wether or not this is a good thing for the industry, as well as kickstarter being good or bad per say.
On the one hand its allowed small companies to get a product off the ground. Yet because if this the market has become swamped, with many of those disappearing once the KS has ended.
I’ve bought a couple that failed once they hit the shelves and then trying to get a game locally becomes an issue. Its a double edged sword, on the one hand its good for designers getting a product to market but its also having a detrimental effect ling term on the industry and hobby.
There have been.some games I liked on KS but waited until they hit the shelves, they performed well on KS but to my surprise didn’t sell well afterwards and ive picked up a bargain, one of those was Dragon Tides, on KS it was around the £50-70 price tag, yet I picked it up for less than.£20.
Other issues I’ve come across have been friends who heavily invested in a KS only to get the product and its never played because, a; they’ve been over whelmed by how much they need to build and paint, b; not happy with the final product or c; its never arrived or only part of it has.
I don’t see KS producing the next 40k game as its a very easy platform for providing hobbyists with shiny new syndrome.
