Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday!!!
Happy Sunday 🙂
Happy Sunday. Also Happy Mothers Day to any that are.
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday folks!!
And for reference, those limos from the Genestelaer Cult: GW never made a kit, those in the picture are scratch builds, and this was actively encouraged as part of the old Cult list. Lots of fun craziness though 🙂
Morning. Glad to have this to watch to take my mind off the whole DUST Kickstarter debacle…
I’m sure I had a set of Genesteelers from 25 years ago!
Weren’t they in the original Space Hulk?
you could get the hybrids in one or maybe both of the expansions. Cant remember for sure. So long ago. damn im getting old 😉
Those fishermen are amazing. I am sooooo jeasous
Happy Sunday!
the cult pics are 1st ed. 40k. they were in the Warhammer 40k – Compilation.. 25ish years ago.
Dont think the limo was every a GW kit. but rather a homebuild conversion…
But I do agree with Sam.. do a limo. Not a truck! leave the trucks for the orks 🙂
The Genestealer Cult/Coven is the greatest thing 40K ever did. Also, crediting, the source –
An extra comma managed to slip into that last sentence.
tacticaly they were the best army, genestealers were one of the best hand to hand combat troop choice, Imperial guard tanks were arguably some of the best cheap tanks and cheap troops but you also had access to the space marine tanks for some reason in the fluff… they had all the best stuff in 40K at the time but no one wanted to play them, it was wierd
Sam going to Japan ?
Happy Sunday! Sam off to Japan sound like fun!
Fire Raptor
I love the original Imperial Guard in the Genestealer pics.
Sam going to japan? John’s Birthday? How many surprises do we get on a Sunday
Happy Sunday!
Nice RX-78-2, John, but the shield is upside! (the opening have to be up, and the cross down 😉 )
Don’t blame me I didn’t build that one 😉
Since we have on the same day an extra large: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!!! 🙂
Happy Sunday ( assuming you’re not a Dust Babylon backer)!
Definitely need a dragon in space!
the diorama is available to view until the 100 year anniversary of armistice day in 2018
A think a lego astronaut into space would mean that everything is awesome.
I would send white bread into space.
I’m a goddamn rockstar 8-D
If you get a chance could you please do a making-of interview with the Perry twins about the Gallipoli table? It would be very interesting to know how the entire project was planned and put together.
Talking to some wargaming friends in NZ they basically hired every painter in NZ to paint models for them,
Hired is the wrong word, I meant asked for volunteers
http://www.beastsofwar.com/perry-miniatures/peter-jackson-teams-perrys-zealands-ww100/ you can see more about the drive for volunteers here
There were 140 painters in all
I’d look at marocco, and even more so spanish adobe(which is spanish) as they like their exposed repair ribs a lot.
All this mentioning of Dust is tempting me to get into it…though as yet not sure which army to buy
The amount of flags seems to a deciding factor 🙂
Happy Sunday.
Sorry to start my comment on a negative note but its really hard to think of anything positive mentioning Dust given where that Kickstarter stands right now (which is we’re not getting delivery)
The 4Ground stuff continues to amaze me however. And my god I hope those vehicles arent it, they’re hideous! (in my eyes)
I’m pretty sure this was recorded before the newest part of the debacle but I am curious what @lloyd thinks of all of it.
Happy Birthday John and Warren! Happy Sunday to all of you 🙂
I would take the Star Wars X-Wing Millennium Falcon to space.
those limos were fan made if i remember right
Limos limos limos limos limos limos…I love limos ..cultist variety of course (regular ones are over rated) Happy Sunday , happy birthday John! Hope you get lots of tank stuff 😀
When you showed the Adobe building my first thought was;
BoW – Dust OP Babylon, but then I recalled this weekends dust news… 🙁
Great show guys! 😀
The result of this week’s XLBS? Hordes of minis raining down from Space on an unsuspecting world :). Nice episode, btw.
Happy sunday folks. Another great episode, with so much crammed in, it was bursting at the seams 😀 .
Loving the idea of genestealer cults making a comeback, that main image is a very old one, the limo’s are a fan made thing, taken from WD art ( iirc ).
What would I send into space? A model of the Sulaco dropship from Aliens 😀
“We’re on the express elevator to hell, boys! Goin’ DOWN!”
Oh, sorry . . . @lloyd already had that idea. That’ll teach me to watch the whole episode before posting. 😀
many years ago, I played a game of Battletech, what was different about it though was it was a double blind game, each player and the ref as we call him were in different rooms, the refs board was kept covered when the players entered his room (we both waited out side his room when we had finished out turns) then one of us would enter and tell the ref what we had done, then leave, and the next player followed suit. The ref would then visit each player and tell us if we had any ‘pings’ on our radar and if we did and we could spot it via LOS and visible range we would know what type of target we had, and could then plan as to do what to do for our next turn. Some times we would just fire blind at the ping, other times would wait till we had a visual. It was fun but the game took a long time to play out. I think you could use this double blind system in any system
@rickoshea – We’ve run double-blind games like you describe in Avalon Hill’s Panzer Leader. Like you said, definitely adds to the intensity (not to mention giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “ambush fire”). 🙂 But wow, does it stretch the game out. You also need a ref (as you mention). I’ve been the ref in a few such games and never have I loved the little camera in my phone so much. Take a picture of a part of the board . . .run to the other table, compare vs. what the other player has, and designate if he’s spotted / encountered any new enemy units.
Excellent show and those 4ground Adobe buildings would be amazing as Mexican old west style building, think of spaghetti westerns and then use them in Wild west Exodus.
Happy Sunday folks!
I had to pause the video to search for the Sesame Street Star Wars parody, which was a good laugh, lol. 😀
Ground fleeehgs! Sound cool, get those Persian rugs going @lloyd!
I’ll be interested to see what BoW thinks about the latest news from the ongoing debacle that is the Dust KS.
People are complaining about it in the forums here: http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/pulp-punk-horror-weird-gamer-town-square/forum/topic/dust-kickstarter-question/?topic_page=2&num=15#post-119778
If BoW could report more about this failed KS it might help prompt both parties to get their act together. I know that they have made a comment on video to them to sort it out, but more frequent posts about backers comments on the KS page and in the forums, highlighting them as being important news to read could help us backers get our goods or refunds (especially if the posts get shared around other forums).
Aside from that, great show, it cheered me up after the Dust email nonsense. Very nice airbrushing Christian, those blue/green minis looked ace. 🙂
Oh yeah, I’ve been wondering for ages if the old Genestealer cults would be back! Did you know they allied with the chaos gods? Look at the minis ad you’ll see Khorne symbols painted on them and on banners!
Those limousines were scratch built models. I’d make my own from car kits I think. 😛
Posted this before but I think it bears repeating:
In addition to the New Zealand forces involved at Gallipoli, a great many Australians (1st & 2nd Australian Division, 4th Australian Brigade, Australian Light Horse) were ALSO involved in this battle, along with Canadians, Indians, and French. Definitely one to remember, not only for its failures, but the incredible endurance and bravery exhibited by men of both sides. Definitely a great way to mark the 100th Anniversary of this memorable event. Great exhibit and article. 🙂
Llyod should come to Bury(just north of manchester) and visit the fusilier museum to learm more about Gallipoli, they even have all six of the VC’s that were won there.
Happy sunday
I would send up a Sherman Tank.
I loved the Deathwatch rules that were released in White Dwarf all those years ago. I always insisted on dragging in a squad of ten of them though and after the wargear/upgrade costs they were a ridiculous price. They’ve been hidden away in a case crying out for a re-paint, so this could be the perfect excuse!
great show guys the Gallipoli table looks brilliant.
Happy Sunday
Happy Sunday guys 🙂
Enjoy the Japan Sam, if you need any advice, just drop a message 🙂
I had the White Dwarf with that Cult army in and played a couple of games with the Genestealer Cult army way back in the Rogue Trader days. Those Limos were scratch built as I recall, from plasticard according to the article!
And don’t stop talking about Dust Lloyd, I always love hearing about it!
I would send up GX-64 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 by Bandai from StarBlazers, the anime that the term anime was created to describe!
At Gallipoli the death toll was so high and the smell of dead bodies got so bad that both sides held a cease fire so that they could both leave the trenches to bury the dead.
Storm Toaster….. I like it! hahahahaha. Actually I would love to see the old Genestealer cult Army return, coz it’s one of the armies from back in the day probably when my brother was just getting in to the whole GW hobby that really caught my eye. It’s also why I had to snap up an old Genestealer Patriarch off of ebay a little while back too to go in my Tyranids army; (I’m afraid it wasn’t the guy on the big throne with the Magus advisor but the Walking Patriarch which I was just going to use as a Brood Lord, cause that’s really what he is: the old fashioned equivalent of the Brood Lord.
It would be sort’ve nice if they came up with a kit for the Coven Limousine if they’re going to re visit the Genestealer Cult Army: (which I reeeeally hope they do coz it would take me back to my teen years (maybe not my childhood – sob-sob,) when I was still sweet and innocent. Before GW robbed me of that innocence and turned me in to the cold hard miserable synic that I am now. Ahahaha
Happy Birthday
Gallipoli board is looking awesome. I also like the Fishermen team. Happy Sunday and Happy B-day guys 😉
@lloyd I’ve been using gripfill at work for years, tis good stuff!
Happy sunday! And happy birthday John, great episode again.
