Fabled Realms Beta Weekend - Saturday
4Ground: Fabled Realms Beta Weekend: Sell Swords Faction Chat
Justin sits down with Cad from 4Ground to talk through the Sell Swords faction in Fabled Realms, delving into just how they work and what you might want to do with them going forward.
We'll hopefully be able to see them in action later during the day too so make sure to watch out for that!

Just going by the look of them, these (or the Druggoi) will be my faction of choice
liking the fluff behind this faction
Lots of options with these guys
In the kickstarter I went for the Eightfold Path and the Mordanburg State Guard. But really, I would like to play all of them.
Love the Sell swords. Nice options. I think I got them in the kickstarter.
Now i’m torn. I was thinking 8 fold, but having seen the Sellsword Orc and knowing Pitfighters are coming ( already here ? ) i am swayed towards that, because i have a Mordheim Pitfighters Warband from back in the day. Side note, i could listen to Ben talk all day about anything hobby and / or historical 😀 .
nice
I love how much work and detail has gone into the world building. it feels like you can have a lot of great history in the smallest detail of each of the figures.
i’m sold on the Sell swords now!!!1
This is my favourite faction of the ones we know about
The lore of the Sell Swords sounds awesome. The fact that you can use almost every Fantasy style miniature is really cool and opens the game for a lot of players.
This is most likely the faction I will go with! Those elven great swords look great!
3… 2… 1… Mutliple tangents incoming. be prepared for information overload
Methinks Justin just got his mind melted 😀
Good grief, the depth of the Lore is incredible, especially weaving real-world historical references into the world, would love to see some official fiction set in Fabled Realms.
Cury Mage! I laughed far too much at that.
These fine fellows, or maybe The Mordanburg State Guard, will have to wait for my p[ledge to arrive, looking forward to it.
As always the 4ground terrain is beautiful but the minis are equally beautiful and I absolutely love the Dragoi, note sure if it’s spelled right, sorry.
I love the goblin designs. I really hope they go through with doing a full goblin faction.
Incredible amount of fluff and the minis look superb
Will be sweet to create an old, drunk, charismatic and above all, greedy Sellsword Guild captain with a penchant for pragmatic betrayals. The fabled realms equivalent of the (in)famous Nicomo Cosca.
Nice fluff. Sell sword faction looks sweet.
Im really interested in these guys. With the kickstarter I went druggoi and mordanburg but I really like the flexibility of the sell swords. Being able to use pretty much any race and weapon is awesome. Definitelt want to be pickjng these up as well to go with my kitbashed troops
This is the faction for me, ideal with all those minis I have around.
Page 58 in the beta PDF for those keeping track.
Sellswords can be mercenaries, bandits and rogues that
have banded together to make some coin.
They are a mix of races including Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes,
Goblins, Orcs and Humans. They are also equipped with
functional gear normally bought at their own expense, so it
isn’t uncommon to see a leader of a Sellsword band in
Tueden Plate with a Gnomian Sword or Greatsword while
the common men in the group will be in a padded jack with
only a shield and hand axe for equipment.
I like the versatility of this faction. If I were to play I think they’d be my choice.
This would be my faction just because of the range of choices and who doesn’t like a group of mercenaries? 🙂
I really, really like the idea of a diverse warband. You can play around with different combos to have unique tactics
missed the kickstarter due to poor health now im gutted
Learned so mych lore and history from the Realm, just by this video.
Can’t wait to see the video on the Mordanbjurg State Guard as they are my fav.
I do like that 4ground are letting anyone use any models. very nice of them, ‘just play our game, we love it, you will too!’
Sell Swords are sounding awesome, really glad that I chose them as my faction on the kickstarter. On the whole the game is looking cool and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
What flexible faction, lots cool options.
Great enthusiasm by the guys too.
I can totally see getting the sell sword faction
fabulous looking figures.
Really like this this faction the more I hear about them, have been planing to go eightfold path ever since the Kickstarter but may switch, luckily I’m getting all the factions in my pledge so can choose once I have them.
I am completly in love with those Goblins! They look better then any Goblin miniatures I have ever seen before! I must have them!!! They have an old school look to them that no one ever does anymore and I love it! 🙂
great looking faction, love the 4ground minis
I call to order this meeting of Miniature Addicts Annonymous. I’m Rob. “Hi Rob” Since all of us bought something this week, I will continue to be acting chairman. It has been 2 days since my last shiny.
Quite the versatile faction, from memory I believe the wife picked them as her part of the kickstarter pledge.
This would be the faction I’d chose. The setting is big enough that I could include just about anything.
That was deeply interesting, whatever it was about. Does he have a podcast? I bet he’s great background noise for work.
Have they released a faction release schedule? When are dwarves expected to come out?
WOW!, that was a lot of fluff!
I’ll be getting those minis, i love ’em!
These or the Mordanburg are the way I’m leaning.
I like how this can be whatever you want it to be.
Where does the Iron wood thing come from in history? It also features the game of thrones tell tail game.
May be my favorite
As always I like the mercenaries. The down-to-earth pragmatism paired with that bit of pompous flourish swagger (you live by the sword you better live in the moment and make a good show of it).
I really like the background construction here. As a large organisation with different political dependencies and treaties, how the SSG are allowed to keep a standing private fighting force and with the drafting and all that.
Also, you can really well create a little corner in this world of your own ideas still fitting perfectly into the background of the SSG.
its the fluff that gets you hooked in to games.
Sell swords look great!
