@warzan A quick and easy reference to set up your job game is Battletech. You’re in charge of a merc company and have to balance the ship bills between jobs, make sure that you have enough pilots if people get injured or killed and maintain the mechs you run around in punching other people’s faces.

This took me back – as a kid I had the backpack and gun, and the trap as a toy – great fun, god knows where it ended up

@warzan For your New York 80s gaming you may find some useful ideas from the old TSR Marvel Heros games, all the PDFs with maps on New York streets and RPG playable buidlings are downloads available under the resources tab here: https://classicmarvelforever.com/cms/
Also New York was I think originally a Danish Colony so you could look up about some Danish myths and that could be the big bad building under the city. Maybe even something norse related as Vikings is one of your other big loves and vikings did get to America way before Europeans.
There’s a brilliant documentary on sky arts about ghostbuster fans and there meet ups.
Big Trouble in Little China takes place in San Francisco, but you shouldn’t let that stop you. I can’t see any reason why it couldn’t have taken place in New York.
There is a long standing rumor that Big Trouble started out as a Buckaroo Banzai spinoff (it was written by the director of Buckaroo Banzai). I don’t know what you can do with that information, but there you are.
I knew something about that being set in New York didn’t feel right, it’s set in San Francisco of course!
Well I guess it’s gonna half to be the Sex and the City crossover.
