Three new trailers launched this week, revealing a new set of pre-orders Corvus Belli are bringing out for Infinity.

excellent. glad I was up to start the ball rolling
I think you need to scream first!!
But I’m a fan of the subdued talk
Those demon models are ace!
the weekend is here, super, fantastic great!
So from what I get in the first three minutes… you and sam will do a “min max” gaming presentation? 😉
Happy Weekender all!
Looks like we’re gett’n some Carlos goodness this week.
I’m putting the Fallout RPG on my list to watch out for.
It looks like ‘Things From The Basement Mediterranean Village’ might finally make it possible for me to get some Spanish building on my ‘Blood and Plunder’ tables.
I think they’re a fantastic set, I’m looking at them for Napoleonics and some WW2 myself
Everything Looks great! Love the new Abaddon model. Maybe one day when the snow melts my Doom Legion can take him on.
Great Show guys, Bonus Points for Mel in Studio looking forward to seeing what he made while you guys had him chained up.
Abandon with the Apnoea mask and Cape is how I’d build him. Bigger Marines look weird without a Cape to fill them out.
Mel’s Channel is great. He gave me the confidence to start building some terrain and if you follow his video’s it’s very easy. I’d recommend the Spray Foam Rocks video.
I agree with Justin, the Fallout Universe is fantastic. The 50’s aesthetic with future tech is a really unique choice and it works. The games have only really covered DC, Vegas (California as well to some extent) and Massachusetts. Yeah West Virginia pops up in 76 but we don’t really count that one. There’s also a few hundred years to play with from the bombs dropping to the Sole Survivor and the Institute.
More Spanish Buildings is always a pro in my book and once they’re released I’ll defiantly pick them up. I need to get some of these for Napoleonics/Blood and Plunder. I’d really like to back the Kickaters but $80 to ship to Australia is way too much for me.
Things from the basement is partnering with 4Ground, so hopefully these will be available through a local dealer via them. But I really wanted them on the show in case that isn’t going to happen, or going to happen soon ^^
I can get 4Ground through some local companies so I’ll be fine it’ll just take a while. Thanks for putting them in the weekender or I might have missed them.
Also the notification email was funny
“new reply have been posted by the Gerry”
I didn’t realise you were “THE” Gerry. Good to know we’re dealing with the real thing rather than some fake Gerry 🙂 🙂 🙂
Glad my stuff helped you bud
Great show, looking forward to the “pre-wetting” tutorial!
It was a good one!
Hell yeah, nice to see Mel back over
It’s the Weekend!
Although with some work to finish at home by Monday it might not feel like it. Can just about squeeze in some BOWOTT output, and maybe some Rugby… Better get on with it…
Reminds me – must paint those figures for ?Monday night’s game of Infinity… Aaaaargh
Got a couple of sets of the coins – Viking and Far East – but like the idea of getting a couple more. Maybe the Drow and something generic or futuristic.
The Mediterranean buildings are very adaptable. 15mm versions would be great for FoW.
If Undaunted: Normandy is not out by June 6th – but it might be out for the 75th of the break out
even Cobra was done by the end of July, it’s post breakout launch. Hey I guess there are schedules and production times to get sorted, it’s like a lot of things that seem to be missing out. Bolt Action has a D-Day book that comes out 3 weeks after D-Day, why not have that pulled forward, it seems a bit stupid!
Timing is about 99% of sales!
I’ll actually have to give a vote for Fallout 76. Yes it is a very different game to the main franchise but it’s another chance to romp through the Fallout universe. I’ve almost finished the main story playing solo (really not interested in multiplayer) and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. If Modiohius wanted to bring it to Wasteland Warfare I think it would work best as a big box expansion with the new baddies (Scorchbeasts, Scorched, Wendigo, Mothman etc etc) and a co-op campaign, and then you could use your existing wanderers/survivors/raiders whatever to have a romp through Appalachia. I’m not sure whether there’s any new factions that would work as player factions (they should be long since dead before other factions get there) but a big box co-op campaign would be awesome in my view.
for the 2 RPG systems – if it can be done so they can share modules and just have stats for each in them – feeding both systems would not be too hard
Wrath and Rature
I’m putting the Abaddon model into the ‘Never going to do it justice’ category. It looks fantastic, so much so, it’s tempting to go back to 40k just to have it on the table. But, it’s so good, my painting would just make it look worse than an unpainted model.
Another must pledge kickstarter……my credit card thanks you lol. Love the terrain.
Up Front is the only WW2 ground game that I can think of
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_Front_(game)
interesting, never heard of it, but then it’s before my time as far as second world war gaming goes 🙂
Happy Weekender.
Abaddon looks great.
not really awake yet – great show
Digs at Sam’s height – no mention how compared to Ben he looks tiny on the screen? ?
Fictional coins: always nice to see. I remember as a kid I had some Star Wars Credits that came as part of a collectors set or something. No idea what happened to them; probably lost to the dark depths of a back of a draw somewhere, lol.
Mel’s friend sounds evil, lol.
Abaddon: don’t like the mask, hard to decide between the other two; I think angry head looks better in the middle of melee while regal looks better comanding. I’m leaning slightly more towards angry, simply because I think regal is better reserved for a Horus conversion. As I’ve said before I’d like to see a comparison against the FW primarchs because I think the mini as a whole would be great to convert into a late-Heresy Horus if it’s large enough.
I’m going to disagree with Justin over the size of the Talon of Horus; as the others say he’s a big beasty now, not a regular marine, so the size disparity wouldn’t be so great – if you were to take that Talon and slapped it into a regular terminator I think the size comparison between weapon and termie would be similar to the classic sculpt. Also, it’s worth baring in mind that the size of the primarchs has never really been consistent, eg in I think it was ‘Horus Rising’, Horus had to kneel to be level with a standing Loken, but in Visions of Heresy, there’s a nice artwork piece of Horus’ Court where he’s only a head or two taller than the regular marines in the same pic, and he’s standing next to Abaddon and isn’t all that much taller than him.
Re: why do we need a tabletop RPG of s computer game: in addition to the points raised by Justin and Sam, Id add not everyone plays computer games/likes playing computer games/is good at playing computer games/etc but some of them might like the universe/concepts of the universe, so having a tabletop game which they do play/like playing/good at playing/etc opens up that world to them in ways other tiein media (eg novels) don’t.
Dungeon Kickstarter: looks great, and agree with Warren, the artwork style is really nice. The punch boards as character sheets are a genius idea!
Blitzkieg Nippon – stealth Japan ref, take a drink.
?
Oh, my friends are evil, but so am I! ;-D
The WW2 deckbuilding game looks interesting, will have to give it a try with my histophile friend
I don’t even play 40k, but I need to pick up Abaddon for a painting project! What an incredible model.
is this the section where you leave replies to enter contests? either way great videos, I really enjoy watching these weekly videos deffinitly something I look forward too. learn so much from them
Yes you’re grand here
Did you guys forget to announce with Wild West Exodus prize of 2 posse boxes from two weekends ago? Usually you announce winners from weekends on the following weekender and there’s no sign of this one. Did it fall between the cracks?
oops sorry about that!
we shall fill that crack pronto! 🙂
OTT: Come for the games, stay for the not so subtle filth 😉
And thank you!
Just finished reading through all the comments and the only one @warzan you replied to was to make a cheap innuendo… Kudos!!! Must be the weekend 🙂
Great weekender again, always good to see Mel!
Uh, @dracs on cam. So you guys now have a USB Microscope for a webcam? 😉
it was trying to get him on the slide was the hardest part. He mostly went wheeeeee and fell off the edge.
I love you all too.
I’m really looking forward to the new Infinity stuff. Haven’t jumped into it yet.
hmm more demons would add nicely to my growing Deathguard im slowly slowly painting
So, only one person won both copies of Dave Taylors book?
yes one to use and one to keep on the shelf.
I definitely haven’t poked anyone to list the second winner that they *definitely* have forgotten to do 😉
and there I was thinking the winner got one to use and get covered in paint/filler etc and one to keep pristine for display…..
that was the plan, in the same way that I discovered my kindle makes an excellent paint pallet 😀
Venomcrawler! now there’s a cool looking mini
and if you want to see a creepy looking Pikachu-esque creature this was bouncing around on the H.R.Giger facebook page yesterday (unable to link to facebook so here’s the image)
oh my god I love it!!
Pokémorph? Or Xenomon? Or Maybe Pikamorph/Xenochu? ?
?
I like Xenochu
Xena Xena 🙂
Once again tied up with family commitments, hope to catch up on this one, and last weeks weekenders tomorrow! Cheers everyone!
i havent played infinity in a year looking forward to this set.And getting some games in in 2019.Way to go Corvus. Im still looking forward to you designing a mass scale game with vehicles.
Corvus Belli is asking for donations again. That’s a great set they offer with wonderful bonus minis. And I haven’t even finished reading Third Offensive yet.
Also veeeerry curious about that mystery project to be released at the end of the year. So @dignity , keep twisting that arm.
Masked Abaddon reminds me a bit of Bane. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. Anyway, I think stern face looks best on the mini. He should really be able to go up to a Primarch these days and that is the face to do it with.
Also nice to see Mel on the show. That must mean some interesting terrain videos will be coming up.
the Bane mask would explain why he’s suddenly gotten bigger for no reason. I was going to suggest that his father was an ork and so he kept growing.
oh yes! @warzan had me chained to a desk ….
I when he wasn’t doing that, he had me doing terrain videos. 😮
ba dum tish, he’ll be here all week, try the fish.
So much terrain, so little space left.
There’s always space for more terrain, they’ve barely started filling the false ceiling space and it’s only got 3 miles of cables up there at the mo!
I like the idea of Fallout RPG. Justin is right about the appeal of telling your stories in the Fallout verse. I think it could be interesting to roleplay as ghoul who survive thru 200 year of bigotry and constancty fear of turning feral or a settler that actually a synth and find out their not human. How would that story end? The RPG potential could be huge
Fantasy world creator is an interesting idea, just need an RPG group to go with it!
You guys should have filmed just the top Sams head!!! lol.. happy weekend boys. ???
It almost was like that, I was disappointed they wouldn’t let me give Sam a flock beard for a more realistic Ben look!
My 2 year old daughter has got hold of my work in progress Retributors. They are involved in same kind of game involving Marshall from Paw Patrol and a plastic aubergine. Do I grab them back off her and destroy any future love of our hobby or do I break out the emergency super glue?
the time for gluing will come after the time of playing
I do like those metal coins, but they’re more expensive than I can afford for gaming.
I’d like some decent coins for Fortune and Glory board game. The plastic ‘Fortune’ come in two values, but they’re very similar in size, making them hard to differentiate. The same is true of the ‘Glory’ tokens. By nice to replace them with some metal ones, but that would cost a lot.
Just gonna be that guy and say that the new Abaddon sculpt is way too busy. GW need to stop throwing the kitchen sink at their new sculpts IMHO. It’s size and scale that make imposing minis. All the gribbly bits just get lost on the tabletop.
Love the new Bandua terrain though. The market for all this MDF stuff is just getting amazing right now.
God, I love having Mel around! GO MEL! 😉
I love hanging with the guys!
Ah! Senpai noticed me! *faints*
Quick… I’m going to hide… behind these palm trees… they will keep him away XD 😉
Bens fair lost some weight?
it’s true shaving off a beard really makes you look like a child
Lol
And I’ll be starting my first chaos army now….
Another cracking show guys, and picked up some useful stuff from Mel.
Looking forward to hearing about this new project…. Colour me intrigued
Loving the coins, looking at getting some now, my wallet hates me
Another great show. Love the Infinity goodness and can’t wait to see more.
a great weekender Guys blitzkrieg looks brill the Mediterranean village looks great to.
looking forward to the abaddon model, hope the biltzkrieg lets play out soon really like to see it
My highlight is the fantasy world creator this week. Never heard of it, but it looks awesome!
@warzan Abbadon’s on/off switch is a handy power-saving feature for between Black Crusades. 😛
Happy Weekend!!!
Happy weekend!
Yes! Mel Time this week AND next week! Can’t wait for this reveal!
Well, never thaught i’d be tempted by Chaos in 40K but, the new Abaddon and the Shadowspear box is quite tempting… I’ll be getting Shadowspear for the Marines but, i’m very tempted to keep the Chaos side and not trade it, get Abaddon and go black too 😉
See you on XLBS
Wrath and Rapture is such a sweet boxed set
Yeah take my money that Abaddon is pretty special.
I am very excited for the new infinity products and the book, going to be amazing advanced the lore of the game.
Great News for Corvus Belii and the players like me.
Those TFTB buildings are really nice. But the shipping is a lot. I’ll just wait till 4Ground start selling them.
not positive if they will, but I’m hoping that it will be the case. I’ve no idea what the partnership involves
There actually is a mod in the works, for fallout 4 called fallout:London and it looks like it will be very neat
https://falloutlondon.wixsite.com/falloutlondon
I’ve decided to finally start playing Infinity this year. A friend ran new through a few games and I’m hooked.
Yu Jing? They’re super, fantastic, great !
My niece has already laid claim to them lol
Always thought I was worthy of Rock star status and today Warren has just confirmed it lol
Pumped for the new infinity box
On the 2x Roleplaying system, I’ve picked up Wasteland Warfare spying a chance to Snag a Normie(tm). I love a full-blooded RPG, but don’t think my Normie will, much as she’s a massive Fallout fan.
The minis RPG could be right up our street though, even more so than the pure minis game. I’ll maybe even pick that up and start straight into this one ahead of the miniatures game.
(Fallout Wasteland Warfare project to follow BTW)
Wrath and Rapture calls for a big conversion project. I would kit bash deamonettes and bloodletters into a twisted, faceless, pale horde of scary and use them to face both of my friends’ slaneshii corsairs and bloodthirsty berserkers.
Great weekender, i will definitely be subscribing to Mel’s Terrain channel, i’d love to increase my skill levels with that area of the hobby.
I have already commented on another thread that i am really anticipating the coming Fallout RPG. I would also like to ask if anyone knows of or is planning to start a discord RPG group and especially if they are thinking of doing a Fallout group?
As a big fallout fan (Apart from 76!), i really believe that a traditional RPG is a fantastic idea and has so much more potential for narrative and character development vs the video game versions.
I seriously think that Justin should consider doing a Fallout RPG Discord group! I’d definitely be putting my name forward for it!!
Love the metal coins, i was looking at their website and thinking of all the things i could potentially use them for.
Great show guys, will be watching the XLBS when i get back to the training camp tonight.
Cool thing coming from Corvus Belli
Oh man that Abaddon mini is a big step up for 40k, they’ve been doing some fantastic things with AoS but this is the first one to make me really take notice of 40k, I’d go with no Cape and snarled grin because I loved the old mini and I think it would be a fitting tribute to the old Jes Goodwin sculpt. @dignity I’d love to hear what you think when of get to unbox the minis and see the talons IRL, see how big they’ve made it
I’d also then be able to take the cloak and see if it fitted on my Troggboss
Abaddon does not look like a mushroom. Warren didn’t break down in laughter by looking at it, can’t be a mushroom.
Fantasy World Creator looks amazing!!
Oh wow, that AoS box is rad. Given I am now finally playing AoS that would be a great addition.
W&R is a neat looking set.
W&R looks like a pretty cool set.
W&R is a pretty cool looking set. I really want Shadowspear though.
More infinity goodness, really need to sit down and finish painting my other infinity miniatures.
This sums it up 🙂 It’s my preferred Abaddon head option 🙂
They found a ‘real-life’ alien coin in Egypt 😮 They used Latin – so they must have been visiting Egypt in Roman times. They had to use coin because ancient earthlings could not take advanced stuff like space-dollars, credit cards or galactic-bit coin.
Too much shiny things.
Love that Abaddon model, the old model was one of the first I ever painted, but the new one is just spectacular.
I love the Fallout universe and happy about it getting official RPG. Would love to play a campaign set in the era of the old PC-games of Fallout 1 and 2. Also would be fun to play a setting with a settlement, to include trading, defence etc. inspired by the walking dead maybe with using a group of survivors and managing resources and food as well as guns and to survive. There is stil so much left to explore in that universe.
I love 40k chaos and I love Fallout, but guess the chaos gods did get too involved in Fallout 76 though :/
I love that Abbadon mini, but for me it is too nice, I would certainly be too frightened to paint it and turn it into less than wat it deserves.
So I’ve just discovered the Pod cast.. Awesome. It was like travelling with you lovely lot in traffic.
The special guests last few weeks have been great. Good to mix it up with different personalities.
Great game and the minis are even better.
Wrath and Rapture!
Juhu Wrath and Rapture 😀
man those new Chaos minis look incredible!!! ….amazin models
Good to see the original Realm of Chaos logo being used on something new.
Man, that terrain looks incredible.
Hi Can I have that box?
I’ve been trying to get into Infinity for a while and before I get round to it, CB comes out with new stuff and new factions and more rules. But one of these days…
Interestingly enough, my best friend and I played Twilight Struggle the very weekend this came out, and by complete chance. Having said that, it was one of the most intense and satisfying gaming experiences of our lives.
Taking me almost a year to catch-up! But Happy Weekend everyone all the same. Great show as always, love the new Infinity models, always such wonderful work.
I see Warren’s point about the craft quality that you can achieve when writing your own stuff for an RPG in a well-explored setting. However, I think there are a couple of points that make up for that. One is that sometimes settings really inspire you in the direction of particular ideas that have not been explored elsewhere. Like Sam’s example of, what if we take all the things we know about Fallout, and apply them to London, what would that be like? There is something fundamentally appealing about those ideas, that maybe would have been better done by professional writers, but if they aren’t doing it, then this is the next best thing. The second, and perhaps most important thing, as much as I love playing computer games, there is something wonderful about sitting around a table with a group of friends and playing an RPG, exploring that story together.
