Would you consider yourself quite the tinkerer? A skilled engineer to put tools to the test and build machines thrust with steam mechanics and oil. Capstone Games have recently announced their partnership with Deep Print Games bringing Corrosion to the tabletop, as players take the responsibility to manage their own engineering shop, whilst simultaneously working on machines to ensure that all runs as smoothly as... a well-oiled machine!

Corrosion // Capstone Games & Deep Print Games

Players will work competitively against one another in a series of turns, completing progressively harder actions as the game follows through. The machines which need a little tinkering do have limited-shelf-life, therefore players will need to master and multitask, stopping machines from breaking down and corroding.

For a player to successfully win the game, 1-4 players must work under the pressures within a factory to coordinate their engineers and corrosion wheel. If delivered correctly and under no-panic, the player will be able to score the most points to be well on their way to be a rusty champion! However, if players want to juggle in panic and spin plates on the constant - they will find not many points are being earned and the machines will continuously break.

The end of the game is triggered when the point supply within the game has been diminished. If the player has successfully juggled their responsibilities of controlling engineers and keeping those machines in good nick simultaneously and over time - they will have scored the most points and be crowned the winner. Depending on how many players are committed to the grind, the game can take roughly an hour and a half to play to completion.

The components are incredibly interesting to utilise too. Corrosion comes with a double-sided-display board, player boards,  factory boards, cards, tokens, markers, scorepad and everything else a player might need to knock that machinery into place, and ensure there are not just happy customers making way to the store, but the store is not riotous and all machines are on their very best behaviours.

The game has now been confirmed to be released in Q4 of this year in Novemeber 2021, just before Christmas. So if you know of any nimble-handed board gamers who like to tinker their way through nuts and bolts of all shapes and sizes - the upcoming release from Capstone Games will not want to be missed.
