LEVEL 7 is a sinister science fiction setting where nefarious conspiracies conceal the government’s collaboration deep within an underground research facility with an unspeakable alien menace. Officially, the top-secret military base doesn’t exist. There is no record of it: no blueprints, no photographs, no credible accounts. Rumors persist, but no one has ever found it. And those who have dared to look have disappeared…

Level 7 [Omega Protocol] Second Edition is an updated and revised version of the original hit sci-fi miniatures game.  Play as a team of highly trained commandos, sent to neutralize an alien threat held in Subterra Bravo, a secret government research facility now overrun with aliens.

Up to five players can take the role of commandos, while one player controls the alien creatures locked away in Subterra Bravo, and conflicts are resolved through dice rolls. However, the mechanic which sets Level 7 [Omega Protocol] apart from other miniature board games is the use of adrenaline.

Both commandos and creatures, alongside their health, have the ability to use adrenaline to perform special attacks or bolster their defence, however, careful management of adrenaline is necessary to ensure victory.

At the beginning of the game, a mission is selected, and players must fulfill the objectives of the mission to win the game, however, each mission has a Crisis Point which increases the difficulty of the objectives needed to complete the mission. There is also a nine-mission campaign mode available for more seasoned gamers.

Level 7 [Omega Protocol] has received rave reviews, so it's no surprise that the second edition has already exceeded its funding target. Furthermore, while there are no stretch goals or add-ons, there is a nice bonus content set for backers, plus the ability to buy the base game, expansion and bonus content in one pledge!

We weren't all smart enough to invest in this board game in its first edition (which are currently selling for around $300), but if you and your group of elite soldiers think you can take on the unearthly horde and win, you can take your pledge to serve and protect humanity and back the project here.
