Do you remember Gravwell? Gravwell was a really popular game that was released all the way back in 2013 and was complimented on the simple yet elegant rule style. Now the space-lurking board game is getting a second edition this year, bringing new features and a modernized refresh to the game.

Gravwell // Reneagde Game Studios

Are you ready to travel back to the 9th Dimension? Be immersed in a fleet of space ships that have gone against the odds surviving through, in and out of a black hole - forcing everything that you know about the atmosphere and physics to be challenged.

Your engines to get home are completely offline, but fortunately, your tractor and repulsor beams allow you to seemingly move around the wide-open space. You will need to manoeuvre your way across space - taking down asteroids and collecting materials for your ship. To ultimately generate enough fuel to get you safe and home through the warp gate. The only way to get out is to carefully and tactically be pulled through gravity, by utilizing your weapons in a fight to survive against a minefield of asteroids and return home.

The new edition boards all-new artwork by the award-winning artist Kwanchai Moriya, known for their stunning work on Dinosaur Island, Island Monsters and Gorus Maximus.

The game has expanded too, allowing six other players to now join in on the space adventure. If you are new to the game, or want to give the game a try, as the game focuses on your ability to act quickly in scenarios: if you are playing against somebody who has played this before - you will be just as clued up as your opponent. You can pick this up, and get stuck in within minutes due to the fact that it puts your wit to the test!

Along with the additions to the first edition, Renegade Games Studios have also added unique player powers for each ship, and there has been updated and unique sculpts for all the playable ships in the game too.

I am excited for the release of Gravwell, as it is a game that I have loved and played before, I will be looking forward to seeing how the second edition has evolved after all this time.

There has been no release day set in stone yet, but it is confirmed as "coming soon", and 100% to be out this year.

Have you played the original Gravwell? What did you think?
