Happy Saturday #Number1
The dragon is more amazing when painted
An hour early this weekend?
Thstndragon was cool out of the box. Unpainted, it’s pretty amazing.
That dragon. Why does autocorrect never work when you want it to?
Calling that dragon 15mm seems limiting. I’d have no problem slapping that sucker down on the table for kings of war in 28mm.
I concur. It’s absolutely huge.
Happy Saturday!
Have you changed the start time guys? You are early!
What can I say about Joan of Arc except ….. my poor wallet!!!!
It’s that time of year I receive my annual cheque with my cut of the royalties for something I did a few years back which I use to treat myself ( because it’s also the time of year you have to consider putting some of your hobby money aside for things like Christmas presents for the kids).
It’s not a lot, but I hope it’s enough for JoA, otherwise it’s crap presents again this year!
Happy Saturday! I love the trail for Joan of Arc, it’s reminiscent of an intro to cartoons that, as a child, lured you in and made you want all the toys!
Sooooo looking forward to this Kickstarter. Can’t wait to see Leo tease us with ALL the goodies!!!
Happy Weekend! I have to say the dragon does look really good!
It’s the Weekend!
Keeeep on hobbying!
It’s the first time I’ve seen the dragon painted up. Nice job!
For anyone who hasn’t seen the dragon in scale (pun intended) you need to , then you’ll understand how big a paint job it must have been. I’m already trying to imagine how I’d approach such a task. Air-brushing and a 2 inch dry brush would seem appropriate
Wow that trailer is EPIC! Amazing
Well, I tuned in earlier than I normally do on a Saturday morning just to see the trailer.
Wow.
I think that I’ll have to watch it a few more times before sitting down to watch the show. You guys did do a show this weekend, right? I mean, I think that you could have just got away with looping the JoA trailer for an hour or so; saved yourself a bit of work and it was still be awesome!
OK so Mythic changed the gamer scene with Pantheon for me with the dice mechanic, the multiple plastic use in their minis, the ‘good place’ and what’s up Wednesday experience after it and the themes and miniatures themselves and now with this trailer it looks like they’re going to up the whole thing again
If someone had said to me historical 15mm game, I would have barely batted an eyelid but this… this looks amazing!! Kudos Mythic, much Kudos indeed
@warzan Looking at your movements, it looks like you already had some practice eating… “cornetto’s” ? :p :p :p :p
Great show guys, that Joan of Arc trailer looks promising! And I’ve always wanted to do a HYW project so I’ll have to check it out! Keep us filled in! 😀
The nice thing about the dragon is that you could use it in a bunch of games. It would be pretty hard to find a scale that makes it look small!
Well, Joan of Arc is a clear winner for me and I will be in on the Kickstarter. But what I am impressed with is the art work. it is stunning. I love the attention to detail, even the tokens are so beautifully designed, it’a not jus a game it’s a piece of art!
From the games I’ve seen on BoW the game itself seems to have a great combination of simple rules and game mechanics, but I think will take a long time to really master. Like all good games, the complexity is in the choices you have, not just in overly complicated rules.
And finally, I think the scale choice was genius. 15mm is big enough for retaining the details of the figures, and small enough to allow for the grander of the period with large scale buildings, monsters, and of course the dragon. The dragon is a masterpiece of animation and sculpting. The winner will have a challenge to paint that beauty.
So, how could anyone NOT want to buy in to this game. Leo and his team have another winner!
This game looks amazing. I will join this Kickstarter for sure. The Kickstarter launch 10.10.2017.
I have joan of arc at my list but after this trailer….my wife too 😉
You’ve put your wife on your list? 😉
You soon learn, you can’t spend 100% of your disposable on hobby, you’ve got to put 10% aside ( at least) to buy things for them too. Of course if you do it right you lead them to believe they’re getting equal spend (haha – no chance), but here’s the hobby husband phrasebook just in case.
– oh this? I bought this ages ago ( hint – remove shrinkwrap asap)
– How much? Oh I picked this up because it was on sale! (Hint – then remind her of a few of the things she ‘had’ to buy because it was on sale)
– Oh – this only costs a few quid/bucks/sims; they aren’t that expensive (hint – remove price labels asap and have a hiding place for the receipts. Then point at that item she bought that she paid well over the top for).
The only way to avoid using these phrases is to
A) get home before her or while she’s out
B) have hiding places in your car, near the front door and in your hobby space
C) not have someone you need to justify things to
D) have them completely on board with the whole thing.
Nice work @bravecry – you worked in a D!
–
That only works though until your gaming buddy comes over..
“Hey, I just saw Bill at the game shop while I was looking at I was going to buy one, but MAAAaan was it expensive. Bill said you just picked one up. Can I see it?”
At which point, your lovely wife gives you ‘the look’ that says..’We’ll talk later..’ 🙂
silly autocorrect.. so.. back to Bill talks, take 2:
“Hey, I just saw Bill at the game shop while I was looking at (insert item you just bought here). I was going to buy one, but MAAAaan was it expensive. Bill said you just picked one up. Can I see it?”
That’s another game from MB that is Epic in every sense of the word. The Dragon is just a (flaming) cherry on top. Was hoping for a full castle set up & this vid confirmed it. Love the gameplay, minis, scale, time setting, mythical twist. Perfect game for me. Been so looking forward to the Joan of Arc Kickstarter. Well that and another month of Leo & his fabulous hair. I wish MB bon chance with their campaign. See you on Tuesday Leo & the MB team.
This video of Joan of Arc is INCREDIBLE !!!
I can’t wait to get my heand on that game and this totally sweetly badass dragon ^_^
…and to finally run demo games in Warsaw (coming soon 😉
I can already imagine the use of the dragon in a D&D game like this :
GM : the dragon swoops down and lands in front of you …
players : not a problem … we will
(GM places dragon on table)
players : *gulp*
GM (using his best Oprah impression) : you get to save vs death and you get to save vs death …
surviving players : we run away …
When this game was first announced it didn’t interest me much… 15mm put me off as I like to paint the miniatures… but that trailer makes it look interesting enough to check out the KS when it launches.
Got a feeling Joan of Arc will be sitting on the game shelf next to Conan and Mythic Battles: Pantheon in a year or so.
Really pumped for JoA, can’t wait.
The ad for Joan is really something!
Oh yes, that dragon rocks. And those skeletons. Id love adding them to my undead brettonian horde
Wow, I started with the trailer, and was blown away with the presentation and the all of the animations that brought the whole game to life, to finish on the dragon with the flaming destruction behind was a great finisher, and brought back to reality with the scream of ‘DRAGONS’.
There was no chance on not being awake before that, but that scream made sure that the whole house was awake! 🙂
Win that Dragon?!?! WOW!!!
Joan of Arc does look nice Would want to play it first before thinking about spending any money on it though
That dragon is incredibly sexy. The Joan of Arc game has me massively intrigued.
@warzan. Not only do medieval skeletons dance, they tell bad jokes as well. I did my Masters thesis on the Dance Macarbe and I’ve never had so much fun doing academic work.
Best Kickstarter video I’ve seen! Can’t wait for the 10th! That dragon is fantastic!!
Justin is terrible, as always. Joan of Arc looks good though.
That trailer for Joan of Arc was awesome, its one of the best board game teaser trailers I’ve seen. Definitely worth checking out the game after seeing that video.
Happy Saturday, I think on the subject of Bears Warren should go for the Kodiak Bear, average 10 feet fully erect and weighing in at 2500lbs!
Happy Saturday!
@warzan join the club in regards to video gaming. I also left video gaming behind several years ago, and likewise have zero clue in regards to these video.game IP’s coming to table top.
Damn I’m soooooo excited about this game! I had the opportunity to try it in a convention, the game system is so fresh and intelligent, it’ll please either the boardgamers and the wargamers. It’s tactical and you need to think about sparing some actions to blast your opponent on the next turn!
I will be so happy to win this dragon! I participate to the contest!
Ah the weekender all is right with the world
Happy weekend everyone! For the first time in a long time I have a lovely commitment free weekend ahead of me, which means lots of time for hobby goodness. So I’m starting to tackle my ebay’d Ork Horde and see how much of a dent into painting that I can get. As it’d be nice to actually play with it at some point.
I’m expecting this weekender to have the most comments ever, I mean who wouldn’t want that dragon?! That trailer was very cool, presumably that’s the vid they’re using in the KS. However, and this is tragic, I kept thinking all the way through they wouldn’t be allowed to show that on (UK) TV, as you can’t show the item you’re advertising doing things it can’t do in real life…ie minis moving on their own, without a disclaimer saying as such. Now the question is how much do I need to spend on their KS to get the dragon!
I have an issue with the Fallout game, in that the game itself doesn’t seem very exciting. I’ve watched a couple of gameplay videos and it looks extremely generic. That said the minis look great, so the question for me is how much do I want to invest into this, as currently it’s just for display pieces for me. It’d be really good for BoW to get some table time for this on camera so we can get the BoW view on the gameplay.
That advert for Joan of Arc at the start… That skeleton right in the middle of the screen – was he dancing?!?! Good moves for a dead guy!!!
Should’ve waited for Warzan – it’s the whole screen!!!
Oh.
I thought that I was on the fence about Joan of Arc.
What a trailer!
Just hope that its not like like movies (looking at you Ghostbuters reboot).
Moving little plastic men! 10 year old me just had his dream come true.
Epic!!!
emm can have that dragon so i can look at it then sculpt a DRAGON THAT IS AS EPIC AS THAT
I wasn’t too fussed about Mythic Battles, but Joan of Arc is sizing up to be something. Interested to see more coverage from the Kickstarter!
@thisisazrael , I’m one of those who is on the fence when it comes to Joan of Ark. I think it’s going to be a great game and it looks amazing with plenty of replayability (is that a word? it should be!). However, I think that I have reached game saturation. So many great games at the moment. I’ve backed MB Pantheon, Tombstone, Who Goes there and Blood and Plunder, all still yet to arrive, along with all the other games that I am already involved in. I have already pulled out of Resident Evil 2 due to this saturation, I just don’t get the time. When I do play I’m spending time re-learning rules as I don’t play one game regularly enough.
After all this I’m still on the fence as this looks like a special game that is different to anything we have seen so far.
Quote of the day “Anyway, I would never play dwarves because the idea of them standing in a line with their pistols out never really did it for me” causing Az to corpse 🙂
@tonysilvey it is a terrible but very real problem to have that there really are too many great games and it becomes so hard to choose which to invest in. Sometimes it’s best to let one person in your gaming group pick it up and share the love that way.
I am actually terrified for my entire hobby time when Mythic Battles arrives, it’s all in danger!
I couldn’t help but giggle at the Dwarven pistols…. had images of braided “trouser hair” with a wee “pistol” poking out….
Mythic Battles is daunting, I have no idea what I am going to do with it all when it arrives. I went for all the expansions. It sounds like it’s going to be a huge delivery and I don’t yet know how much time I am going to get play it let alone paint any of it!
Looking at the briiliant trailer I wonder if one day we will see it’s like in the mainstream media just like pc, console and tablet games. I hope so.
Now, thats a trailer.
So there Warzan was talking about Joan of Arc and the One Hundred Years War but his time travelling watch was set to 1704…. 🙂
I went all in on MB:P. Everything I have seen about Joan tells me I am going all in on this one as well. Leo and the guys really know how to devise something with infinite replay capacity plus their community involvement, KS communication and attention to detail are phenomenal. I like the idea of the upgrades – I would also be interested in ways of expanding the mass battles in scale as I suspect the limitation would be the number of activations available – maybe some additional cards for when some looney (me mostly) decides to replay Agincourt with hundreds of minis on each side.
” Resistance is useless ” the mighty Leo will have you bending the knee as he begins his kickstarter for Time of legends JOA . All shall fall before him as he has set the benchmark all others will be judged and deemed unworthy of his gaze . ” ALL HAIL LEO THE BRINGER GAMES ” !
My only issue with that trailer is that I’ll now be really disappointed when the minis don’t actually animate and charge!
Incredible trailer. Best promo ever. When i remember the Mythic Battles kickstarter i am begining to think that this will be a very fun kickstarter and an all-in pledge for sure 🙂
Wow – thats a trailer for a “boardgame”! Looking forward to try it in Essen. 🙂
That intro was blowing me away…
JoA is a must have for me and a definite must play at Essen.
And I really want to win that Dragon;)
The trailer looks amazing. They could use this to make a digital version a well.
Time of legends looks fantastic. I like the way the boards look a lot, I can’t wait to see the kickstarter. The only problem is that I have an appointment at 9 o’clock.
Love those Minotaurs and with Zealot on the casting I know that will be top line
I want, no I need, that massive dragon in my life.
I really need the dragon!! Joan of Arc looks so awesome i just love the 15mm scale
Must say thanks for introducering me to Spooky Scary Skeletons song 🙂
And a chans to win a Dragon 😀
And the winner for the best trailer for a board game EVER! Joan of Arc!
I’m getting more and more excited for Joan of Arc (and will be pledging Tuesday). The historical scenario reminds me of BattleLore (1st edition).
Look at that Dragon !!! The game looks sooooo cool :O
Good morning and a happy Saturday to everyone 😀 . So much going on in the Weekender, where to start ?
Joan of Arc : Time of Legends, omfg….When i first heard of this arriving, i was very much on the fence, but now that has changed. Seeing the interviews ( including todays ) and the ” Let’s Play ” has me on board now, hook, line and sinker. For 15mm, the mini’s are awesome, words are simply not enough where the Dragon is concerned. I will be backing this Tuesday night, no question. The Empire of Men KS has some cracking sculpts, they will be a great addition to anyones sci-fi human army, the Great Empire are my favourite as those Stormtroopers look great.
The Fallout game has me very excited as a long time Fallout fanboy, i really look forward to clearing the Wasteland so settlements can be raised. Konflikt ’47 is another game on my radar, that Japanese Walker is just lovely to look at, let alone the two troop choices as well. Dark Age has never caught my attention, i know that you guys at BoW love it a lot, but it still has a very niche feel to me, even in the hobby niche that we all share. Ah, WWX, how i love thee 😀 , this week has provided me with a much needed push to get my Lawmen & Outlaws starter built, then i will proceed on to getting hold of the Rules and Gubbins box set currently being reprinted ( i’m not set up for downloading and printing ). After that, i will definitely be showing off the wonderful mini’s and fantastic game that is WWX at my flgc.
My friend has the Dark Souls board game and Resident Evil 2 is very much on his radar and may well make it into his collection. Those Minotaurs look absolutely fantastic and will be a fantastic centre piece for any fantasy army or warband.
I look forward to the Justin Mind Melter tomorrow and another highly entertaining XLBS.
@dignity those minotaurs look stunning, but you don’t have to do a custom Ogre army for KoW to use them. Just play a KoW Herd army, they’re right there in the list ^^ hooves for the win, it’s a lovely army I must dig mine out when you return from the states and stampede over your stunties!
Joan of Arc does look amazing, not sure if I’ll have the cash to back the KS though, too much all at once for me right now, but maybe when it comes to retail.
That was a great looking video for Joan of Arc, I’ve never backed a Kickstarter but might be tempted here.
God damn take a look at that thing! It’s beautiful!
Both the dragon and Leo are good looking beasts
Joan of Arc looks like another game that will thin my wallet.
Wow! AWESOME trailer for Joan of Arc!
Just woke up to take my meds and decided to check up the key points of the show before going back to sleep and even with @warzan wake up call, i’m going back to bed! I’ll finish the show later up today and sensing my wallet cringing already 😉
OMG cant wait till it start!! It’s looks amazing.
Man you need an extra warning at the beginning of these shows ‘Those with a hangover watch later when head no longer hurts’. Joan of Arc is finally coming to Kickstarter, I can’t wait.
Well, if they don’t break KS after that epic ad i don’t understand.
I also like the skeleton’s danse macabre !
That JoA game looks sooo impressive. When I first heard about it I didn’t think much about it, and I only checked it out because I love the scale, but the more I see, the more interested I become in the game in its own right. And that dragon… I musssst have itttt, my Precioussss!!
Huge in 15mm huge in 28 mm must be a real dragon not a wonna be what all other companies need to aim at
Happy Saturday. Looking forward to the release of Joan of Arc. Looks great
Wow, I think that was the best trailer for a miniature game, I’ve ever seen! Between Joan of Arc and the Relicblade expansion, its going to be an expensive kickstarter week.
@warzan I knew I’d heard of werebears somewhere, then it hit me, in my youth in the early 80s (yes i like you am that old) I remembered these
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WereBear
Yes WereBears were a thing
@warzan I just found this… clearly someone has one they can send you
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orU5mpppzh4
Great show, thank you. JOA FTW 🙂
Great episode. the Joan of Arc trailer has to be the best Boardgame trailer I have seen. The dragon is a beautiful model.
Oh my that Dragon! Mythic has raised the bar so high and has throat punched it’s competitors! Miniatures, art, components and game play mechanics are incredible. Did you see that Dragon? Your game is coming “pimped”, full of plastic, and you better borrow grandpa’s pickup truck to carry your pledge! I absolutely love watching Leo and the Mythic team on Beasts of War! I’m addicted to watching the Mythic Pantheon videos on BOW! Easily my favorite board game company! Joan of Arc will be all in for this old man! The terrain is incredible, especially love the castle! Crazy stretch goals is my favorite quote! Did I mention how awesome that Dragon is?
don’t apologize Leo, you go right ahead and pimp the @%&$ out of it.
in all seriousness it’s the little touches of quality that really elevate a game, a beautiful and polished product in all aspects.
it’s fantastic to see you continuing to push the limits of what can be achieved despite your success. with so many companies out there designing by committee, aka chasing shadows, you gentlemen are one of the handful who are innovating truly.
are we witnessing a heavy stroke in the slow demise of traditional wargaming?
those minotaur’s are as good as it gets and to say I agree with their opening statement would be, well, an understatement. you can expect my support if you hold true to your ideals.
“dungeon crawl dungeon crawl dungeon crawl dungeon crawl”
maybe you could hook up with mythic, now there would be a sight to behold.
shadows of esteren backer kit is open. it’s an opportunity for anyone interested in the hauntingly beautiful RPG to get on board. this game is without doubt one of the most beautiful products on the market.
what’s the scale difference between 40k imperial guard and konflikt 47 miniatures. I’d love to see them fight at the same battlefield.
How difficult is it to switch from 1 mode (playing a scenario) to another (playing a head-to-head battle)?
Also: how hard is it to get into? I mean, the game looks gorgeous. Drop dead. It just looks like not the easiest games to get to grips with?
Zealot are making some beautiful minis with this KS.
not only does joan of arc look like an amazing game, it’s an amazing jump off point for 15mm fantasy in general. not having terrain in scale is one of the biggest psychological barriers to entry a miniatures game has if it’s not in 28-32mm imo. so to have an extensive range of terrain as well as “generic” (beautiful, but generic in the sense of multi-use) era-appropriate models is really doing the entire scale/genre a boost. i’m really looking forward to this one!
@warzan Your fear of bears makes me think of this scene from “The Great Outdoors” classic movie. “Big bear chase me.” LOL!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBJ-MpPBDug
@thisisazrael @dignity
haha amazing @smitty14! I won’t lie, I want to abuse @warzan‘s fear but if he finds out mine it could get very bad….. Az
Phobia Wars…coming to a screen near you. LOL @thisisazrael @warzan
Wowsers! That was a trailer – I am really intrigued. I like the hex play board and the mix of historical vs mythical. Definitely going to take a look at that one!
Joan of Arc looks amazing .. so need to get into this. Freaking large Dragon?!! Awesome sauce! I love 15mm scale .. why it’s not done more than it is, I’ll never know. It is epic. Wish Warhammer was 15 mm … seriously would be kickbutt. just saying. 🙂
Were-bear has gotta be in Wildwest Exodus … even a normal one, it can always be painted as a polar bear lol.
Minotaur’s are a want. Seriously folks, you guys are hurting my wallet with so many awesome announcements! Just wondering, did I miss the weekender with the Blood and Plunder (week) prize giveaway (was reminded of it after seeing Warren’s shirt)?
A super trailer for Joan of Arc. Just what every gamer must imagine…their mini’s coming to life and rushing across the battlefield. Certainly I do.
That is a very cool dragon.
Very nice trailer indeed!
The dragon looks awesome. The game looks very interesting and cool to play. I’m looking forward to the kickstarter to see what will come with the game.
The Resi Evil 2 KS is so tempting, but I’m saving cash for SteamCon next month. Why do this to me, Steamforged????
Really excited for this Joan of Arc KS. That dragon looks amazing and the game looks fantastic.
I keep thinking I can resist the urge to back Joan of Arc but then I keep seeing how great the game looks. Damn you!!!
With Fallout and Joan of Arc hitting at the same time, and the imminence of WFRP 4th edition, i think my no.1 priority will be looking for an improved source of finance.
Joan of Arc:
I’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again ( because i want that dragon ), the Joan of Arc miniatures might be heralding a shift from 28mm to 15mm for many of us. That the dragon and the demons are also possibly usable in 28mm games just makes the whole transition easier. But most of all, Joan of Arc just looks and sounds like its the business. I’m interested in the idea of playing Joan of Arc as a mass battle game, but i’m not completely sold on that yet, so i’d be interested to see someone give that a go. I think i’d also be interested in some 3 dimension modular terrain version of the hexes.
Zealot Minotaurs:
I’m fairly convinced that Zealot Games will bring out a HeroQuest style game. ( Those scrolls are lifted straight out of…. er…. i mean a direct homage the scrolls of narrative set-up in the original HeroQuest adventure manuals. ) It’s not so much that i think Zealot are planning to bring out a HeroQuest type of game, though i wouldn’t be surprised if they were planning to, it’s that i find it hard to believe that sooner or later they won’t just find that they’ve all but made a HeroQuest type game by virtue of all the components and ideas they’ve accumulated. HeroQuest The Minotaur Hoard tickles my fancy.
Fallout:
My only concern with the Fallout game is that it’s Fallout. I haven’t played any of the Fallout games and so i don’t have a problem with that franchise as it were, but my concern is that Modiphius are tied into an IP that isn’t theirs. I think i would have had just as much interest in the Fallout game if they had invented their own post apocalyptic IP.
Zealot Minotaurs:
Althoguh the minotaurs are great i really liked the adventurers.
Empire of Men:
Great miniatures. I’d consider them for W40K if i ever venture back into that. ( I forgot to mention them because they are swimming in a sea of great releases. )
Wife walked in on the Joan of Arc section… and expressed an interest! Must work on this.
Dragon looks awesome too.
Nice! Super excited for Time of Legends: Joan of Arc.
Joan of Arc and Fallout look really good, if only I had won the Euromillions….
Although Joan of Arc would be a new scale and new time period for gaming I’m really looking forward to it. I think the mass battle potential is what has me really interested most like Warren.
Happy weekend! Glad that they tossed Spooky Scary Skeltons behind that clip so I didn’t have to. Boogie skeletons had me laughing very hard.
ohhh my GOD, this trailer is insane, i wish they did one for pantheon.. but i’ll be dreaming about that dragon until the kickstarter..
Nice work on the trailer going to be interesting to see where it take us, I think it will open a lot of eyes to the smaller scales
Good work again lads
It may just be me but hexes and no counters … is that even allowed @oriskany ?
Happy Saturday! Absolutely loving everything I’ve seen of Joan of Arc.
If i hadn’t pledged so much for Mythic Battles: Pantheon I’d be all over this one – even if the scale seems intimidating for painting. 15mm – gulp!
But that dragon. That dragon.
That dragon…
…it is a work of beauty
Thanks for feeding my addiction to this upcoming game! Joan of Arc looks amazing!
Epic Dragon! Can’t wait for the KS
Stunning dragon, not really liking the KS only releases, but video is nice. Konflikt ’47 Japanese is fantastic, but surely @warzan it’s got to be the Russians for the Ursan troop, massive bearmen.
Resident evil does look good, but will wait and see at retail release.
Joan of Arc isn’t KS only.
Interesting thanks @quickworthy, is it going to be a’la Conan though where a lot is not retail supported?
I would imagine that the amount of it that makes it to retail will just depend on how well the initial releases sell. Obviously anything KSE won’t be at retail.
@redben not bothered by kse its more when expansions etc miss retail
WHERE ARE MY DRAGON. *khaleesi mode on*
That’s quite the tralier. I am extremely interested in this game.
i had to have a double take of the dancing skellies
Aren’t they cool?
It’s the danse macabre. You can see some medieval dancing skellies on the woodcut on the right of this page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danse_Macabre
That dragon looks pretty epic
Such a great Dragon.
Also, FALLOUUUUUT! 😀
Joan of Arc is looking better and better the more I see of it. My bank account, much less my wallet, is going to hate me.
Those minotaurs are fantastic. I’ve rarely seen a minotaur that looked so savage. And i think that’s the fist time i’ve seen a female minotaur.
Oh it is going to be a challenge to not back Joan of Arc. Besides dragons and an army of skeletons doing the St. Vitus, it all fits on the size table that can stay setup up past dinner time. It would be nice to have a 6′ x 4′ table dedicated to gaming, but I don’t expect to have one in my life time. But the 15mm hex based system will make life so much easier. My hope is that the tiles don’t slip and slide all over the place without blue tack gumming up the works. And I probably shouldn’t mention it, but the time might just work for 15/20mm Bolt Action, Chain of Command, DBA, etc. too.
Some of the tiles are 2 hexes, and others are 3, which means that some pieces sort of interlock. They’re all pretty big. This combines to make them much better at staying in place than smaller pieces.
Dancing Skeletons! Great show as always, I’m really looking for to the Empire of Men kickstarter. It’s actually the first one I’ll be backing so thanks BoW for advertising it. Now I just have to try and stay in budget! And DRAGONS! almost made me spit out my coffee. Definitely the coolest dragon miniature I’ve seen. I’d back Joan of Arc for that alone, but alas it must go into my list of things I wish I could afford. Also thanks Warren now I’ll never be able to hear Beastman the same way again.
I hate you guys. Just as I thought I had kicked my Kickstarter habit you come along like the friendly local drug dealer and say “hey kid – have you tried this new shit that’s just come along – beats anything you’ve had before!”. “Ok just one hit of Jeanne d’Arc – just one and then I’m done – Ok? … OK?!!!”
joan of arc looks bl@@dy fantastic, and those skeletons know how to throw a party.
That paint job is phenomenal. Wow! It looks more like a sculpture than a game piece.
Thanks for a great show 🙂
I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Joan of Arc. That’s one amazing looking game, and the play through’s looked like so much fun.
Okies…of to auction away my remaining kidney 🙂 They do grow back right?
I sold some kidney’s once, but then they started asking where I was getting them from
I would want to Dragon but where the hell could I put it? It is ridiculous
I have a feeling I’ll be sat in front of the computer at 20:00 on Tuesday evening – even though I probably can’t really afford it.
And Justin, when I Chicago, if you find ‘Mac’s’ – have a steak sandwich and craft beer on me.
one of the best dragons I ever saw, fantastic. I’m afraid of tomorrow’s historical facts… 😉
The Mechs from Empire of Men look great. Thinking about getting the Alien looking one to make a Asterian Walker for Deadzone
Impressive looking dragon, be nice to have that in my collection….:)
The sheer size of the dragon is massive! Could you even call it a “miniature”? This kickstarter is going to be one of the biggest of all time, and it’s well deserved.
I am looking forward to Mythic Battles Pantheon, and Joan of Arc looks very polished.
However… I feel a bit odd saying this – isn’t the dragon really a drake or wyvern rather than a full dragon? Dragons have 6 limbs, surely?
@bubbles15
Dragons can have a variety of number of limbs. The original dragons didn’t have any. Far Eastern dragons famously lack wings. In British heraldry there’s a distinction in the iconography which gives wyverns two legs and dragons four so that you can tell them apart, but that’s the only place dragons always have four legs and two wings.
Dragons should have 6 limbs, it’s true, otherwise it’s either a Wyvern or a Wyrm. @redben is just being historically correct. Ignore him.
So spooky. I was literally googling Joan of Arc last night as the game popped into my head after remembering the Mythic Day coverage! Must have caught a brainwave as the weekender was being uploaded!!
That has to be the greatest kickstand film I have ever seen. Loved it, so creative. I’m even more excited now to back this game.
Kickstarter!!!
Ahhh, JoA looks so amazing! Can’t wait til Tuesday!
Cheers!
Good to see the best awards in gaming happening soon. I love that theme song! And very anxious to hear tomorrow’s historical facts.
Leo, take my Pension
Awesome! So excited…. when it was first announced it seemed lackluster compared to Conan and Mythic Battles Pantheon, but NOW… now I think this could be their best game yet and be a real “gamechanger” for miniature games, putting such amazing quality at this scale and allowing representationally huge monsters and buildings to exist and fit in a game box! thanks for the contest, and good luck to everyone trying for early birds!
JoA looks promising!
That trailer is amazing! If I hadn’t been excited about this game yet I would be now. Can’t wait for the kickstarter to start to see even more of the goodies.
The Dragon looks like Smaug on steroids
Good God but Joan of Arc looks amazing.
That Dragon is stunning!
I promise if I win it it will be put to good use….both on the table top and then out in the garden…scaring off the birds…and the neighbors kids.
The Dragoon is just amazing!
That Dragon should be up for miniature of the year – Not just because it is an AWESOME model but also due to it’s versatility. I don’t think there are too many miniatures out there that could be used in so many games, from fantasy battles, to Role Playing, Joan of Arc (of Course) and even a display model.
Loved the trailer for JoA. Will definitely be in on this project for sure.
That is one of the most beautiful dragons I have ever seen. And I cannot wait for the Beasts of War Gaming Award show! I love that!
The Minotaur Horde Kickstarter looks very tempting.
WWE Warkers remind me so much of Wild Wild West, Great Movie
Cant wait to get a massive Joan of Arc Force, EPIC
That trailer of Joan of Arc is absolutely stunning, I can’t believe they have put so much effort just into that.
I remember when I was a boy a friend of mine had some toy knights and a castle and all I ever wanted to play when I visited him was with that set of knights and the castle. Ever since then I have really wanted a good game with knights but I have never found the right game…..until now, this is like a lifetime dream come true. I have been watching the news on this game with eager anticipation and when I saw the “let’s play” the other night I nearly had a melt down I was so excited.
The game itself looks terrific and it really does look like quality components, which is an added bonus. I think you really have gone for the right scale here, any bigger would not have been practical and any smaller would loose too much detail, good call.
All I can say is, to Mythic Games, thank you guys, and basically you have now secured a substantial chunk of my savings account which I will be handing over starting this coming Tuesday. I can’t wait to get a copy of this game !!!!!
I’ve been looking forward to the Joan of Arc Kickstarter since I found out about it and my excitement keeps on growing.
It will definitely be welcomed next to Kingdom Death in the prominent position of my gaming cupboard.
Hopefully they will offer transfers. The crossbowmen look stunning but trying to paint those designs by hand is an intimidating ask.
Oh to the tabletop god’s I need this dragon in to guard my home!!!1 Lol. But truthful My ten year old niece is starting to dip her toe in the waters of war gaming and figure and been watch your show with me when she come round to Grandma but she stay over last knight and which the begin of the weekend with that wonderful, open with joan of arc and she just lost it. She was like it is that what i am going to do gruncle!! her wonderful nickname for me and i said yes and when she saw the dragon, she lock with her eyes an said ” we need that dragon in are life and i can help you paint it because it so big”. Plus she too love those skeleton dancing too. Thanks guys i think you have truly brought her in to the war game world.
Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzz………That trailer for Joan of Arc is epic!!!!! I was so engrossed in it that when you screamed out the screen (Warren) I nearly shat myself!
Justin, i’m one of those people that have been under a rock because I hadn’t even heard of the game Joan of Arc. What a pleasure it was to see it all for the first time though. i’m definitely jumping in on this kickstarter, looks like i’ve got a lot of overtime to do to pay for it.
Excellent weekender boys, keep up the good work :0)
Those Minatours look amazing too
I think soon there be dragons on these shores 🙂
Joan of Arc looks awesome and the dragon……just wow!
Love the German storm troopers n dragon and RE2 is looking fantastic wasn’t their a tofu man in the game guys.
Dragon?
Been waiting very impatiently for JoA ever since Mythic’s first tease. Roll on Tuesday so I know how much pain my wallet’s going to be in. Have to include the dragon, that’s a no-brainer
So, i came back to finish viewing the show and i had to check out again the trailer for Joan of Arc and it’s sill awesome! I do sense my wallet cringing in fear with this game… I’ll check in with my friend if he is into this to…
Who can say no to a massive dragon?
Can’t wait for another mythic/ monolith game! Conan and pantheon are both amazing
OK so the Joan of Arc trailer is absolutely Epic. Heck I even got my daughter who is 15 and hasn’t looked at her Elven Army in 6 years to sit down and watch it and she thought it was really cool and was excited when she saw it was a board game. If Warren is that excited about it and it’s game play it must be good!!!!
The Dragon looks awesome and the live Joan of Arc in combat caught my daughter’s eye for sure.
Alas I cannot start another project and will resist, unless my wife and daughter want it for a future XMas present. 🙂
I must remain focused on my Helms Deep project!!!!!
Literally waiting for the JOA Kickstarter to go live. My only question is what is next and how compatible it will be (mass battle or skirmish).
Also… Joan of arc boot camp?
First, regarding the Resi 2 unlocks, I think if you were going to design a game and say “We are going to have more than 4 player characters” then I think you HAVE to include Hunk and Tofu in the game, because they are more ‘legitimate’ choices than the other characters you might otherwise include. So I’m very happy to see that they will be stretch goals and I have no doubt we will unlock them before the end!
As for the Joan of Arc dragon, I wonder if they gave any thought as to how the model would be stored? Joan of Arc is being sold as a boardgame and in my house at least, boardgame content goes back in the box when I’ve finished with it (unlike wargames, which inevitably spill out into other foam-lined boxes). With such a huge wingspan that really dwarfs most 28mm scale dragons, I think the wings are going to need holes for magnets so that the model can be broken down (but not broken! Dead lord no..) into smaller pieces for transportation or storage. It sure would be handy if they were pre-cast into the plastic!
That, or the dragon is going to need a custom Battlefoam bag to itself!
The dragon will come with its wings separate (but otherwise assembled) so it fits in a sensible sized box and is more secure for transport. You could easily magnetise them for continued storage 🙂
Wow. This is the first wargame that has really tempted me. I like the theme. The minis look great and that dragon looks amazing!
Leo, you’re killing my budget! JoA is definitely on my ‘must support this KS’ list.
Love the fact that you can play multiple ‘genres’ with a single game. Want fantasy.. chase down a werewolf. Want historic.. you can do that too. That is awesome! The hex tile idea I was a bit torn on until it was further explained with the breakdown in varying leagues.
Game play looked pretty smooth for a game still under development.
The minis look great! Can’t wait to see them up close. Oh, and did someone say dragon??
I’m very glad you focused right in on the dancing skeletons, had to be done. And femmegaunts? Surely the internet can provide us with an idea of what those might look like. For anyone brave enough to search. Which isn’t me atm 🙂
Wow, that dragon looks fantastic. Why do they keep taking my money?
That dragon aught to be adults eyes only!!
That trailer was pretty cool. I thought the same thing as Justin: I’d totally take this game in computer game form. Though I think a direct translation of the board game to digital form in a turn based game would be great. As long as it had those same animations of Joan chopping her way through everybody.
And I know the Kickstarter for this game hasn’t even launched yet, but yes, I’m already hoping the next game in the Time of Legends line is: Time of Legends: Nobunaga. (I was about to say William Wallace because I just watched Braveheart the other day, but I think I’d prefer a completely different aesthetic on the next one.)
There’s certainly lots of potential 🙂
I’m going to take that as Nobunaga confirmed! YES! 🙂
Hands down, the best game trailer I have ever seen.
what an amazing Dragon! Can’t wait for Time of Legends. Might even do up custom fully textured Hexes for it 😀
This looks like a very complex, interesting game.
Wow, what an amazing dragon!
Excellent weekender. The JoA trailer and the Minotaur Kickstarter look superb…
It’s great seeing how excited the guys are for the game. I’m very excited too.. Oh and the DRAGON IS BEAUTIFUL.. I saw it at Gen Con and I can’t wait.
That dragon looks awesoooooooome!!!
OMG, the Joan game rox!
Great start of the day watching the weekender and painting some Mice and Mystics. I have been watching Time of legend closely for some time now and got to say that this is one of the games I have been looking for the most for a long time. One of my all time favourit historical periode. Cant wait to paint some 15mm knights and castles. Good to see Time of Legends content in the pipeline (hopefully with lots of Leo)
Realy love the dragon. I think it would look great painted up in my cabinet. Only problem is that it will take me some years to finaly finish the beast.
Dam Mythic keeps blasting it out the park! Sitting here waiting for my giant pile of mythic battles pantheon and all ready to dive into Joan of Arc. They got us goood with all their awesome design, artwork and game rules…how can we resist!
Roll on Tuesday
I would love to win the dragon how many paints would you lol
Joan of Arc looks incredible, Mythic Games are a class act.
I’m most interested in seeing how the game scales to full battles – I hope the mechanics continue to work well for that. Warren summed it up perfectly – never underestimate a war gamer’s desire to see things go large!
And the dragon is, of course, jaw dropping.
Conan I passed on, mythic I talked myself out of backing at the last minute – this though I don’t know if I can find a way of not backing! 🙂 Plus there be dragons!!
Joan of Arc really wasn’t doing anything for me but that trailer was amazing and hearing the plans piqued my interest. Checked out some of the earlier videos on it again and I think I may be backing yet another kickstarter this year!
Loving the idea of this being a series of games if this is successful!
I am loving the detail of the miniatures and the scenery is superb and who wouldn’t want this dragon as part of their collection. It’s bloody awesome but from the games I have seen, so far, the rules seem to be cumbersome and clunky and the scenarios appear to one sided… Hopefully you have a few more in the can which will change my mind??
Cant wait to back the joan of arc. Such a great game
Loving the trailer for Joan of Arc, really looking forward to this one
Joan of Arc looks amazing! But I’m saving my money for the Relicblade Kickstarter! That’s gonna be awesome!
I am not sure on JOA as detailed as the tiny minis are I reckon I would really struggle to paint them – brings back memories of going half blind painting GW’s epic many years ago!
The more time I spend with Joan of Arc; watching the game play with Justin and Leo and, that trailer: the more uncomfortable I become.
#sitting on the fence like a medieval skeleton.
Why?
Fantastic trailer for Joan of Arc, loved the dancing skellies too. So many great games have been coming up on Kickstarter, a couple of which I put a tenner on to back them just in case I could afford it later in the backerkits. But JoA has been drawing me in and so I saved my pennies, looking forward to the KS campaign.
I NEED that Dragon! It’s a large dragon by 28mm standards – but in 15mm it’ll be a world eater – and so beautifully sculpted. Love me some dragons.
Can’t wait to get into Joan of Arc.
I also need a Minotaur for my Hoplites to go to battle against, so I’m veeeery tempted to back a kickstarter for the first time, in like, forever.
Bring on the Joan of Arc KS.
I really didnt think Joan of Arc was something for me, but then I heard about siege scenarios. That would be awesome!
Dancing Skeletons! Charging Knights! Werewolves! Heck yea I want the Dragon! This is a must pledge on Kickstarter.
I wasn’t that interested with Joan of Arc when it was first announced but now it looks like another Kickstarter that I’m going to end up going all-in on.
Wow this Time of legends stuff has such potential! I would love to see variations on the theme like Time of Legends:Game of Thrones, or Time of Legends:Sparta (and get a small scale mythic battles feel going on!).
Good stuff!
WOW first thing out of warren give away dragon…epic!!! Then filling in by Ben lol in the vid.
JoA looks great, and the dragon especially painted looks fantastic. Unfortunately after my MBP indulgence I can’t see this one being allowed as well.
Kind of wish @warzan would make slightly less orgasmic noises when looking at miniatures.
I’m sure it sounds like I’m watching weird Irish porn.
i was so bummed that I could not get into a demo game of Joan of Arc at GenCon. The table was always full. I will definitely be on Kickstarter Tuesday checking it out. My wallet may be bit lighter later in the month.
that’s probably one of the best promo adverts I have seen for a tabletop game only problem I have is its that good I kinda like to play the digital version !! 🙂
Its nice to see the word of the day toilet paper is paying off for Warren. I’m scared to see the awards are coming soon. That means the year is almost over and it can’t be yet surely?
Justin missed a trick when asked how the Minataur was made. The corrct response was “stop motion”.
Whoa! Those Minotaur are works of art!
So many things I now have to buy… plus the new, bigger house in which to keep them!
Another fun show but I have to comment on your Greek mythology. Hercules had nothing to do with it. Theseus of Athens slew the Minotaur. The king of Crete, Minos, asked Poseidon for a sacred white bull to sacrifice to demonstrate his coronation was approved by the gods. He decided the white bull was too nice and sacrificed one of his regular ones instead thinking the gods wouldn’t really mind. He was wrong and Poseidon made the queen, Pasiphaë, fall madly in love with the white bull. She commanded Daedalus (creator of the labyrinth and father of Icarus) to make a hollow cow frame she could crawl inside in order to mate with the heavenly creature. Once the mutant child was born the Oracle of Delphi told Minos to place him in the center of a vast labyrinth. After Minos’ military dominated Athens he required them to send sacrifices of their seven best young men and women to be fed to the beast. Some myths say every year while others say it was every seventh year. Regardless, Theseus (crown prince of Athens) actually volunteered for the task, hoping to slay the brute and end the sacrifices. He seduced the daughter of Minos, Ariadne, into helping him navigate the maze (some say she gave him a ball of string to mark his way) and he killed the beast with his father’s sword.
There is a great deal more but that’s what I remember from my classics.
That trailer is amazing. I wasn’t that interested in the Joan of Arc kickstarter (apart from that dragon!) until now. I need to be careful as I went all in with mythic pantheon and I’m not sure if my wallet could handle another hit. Also I was trying to save for the upcoming batman game by monolith. The problem is real!
That Dragon is a massive beast of war
wow even with 32mm figures that would look amazing.
with Joan of Arc could you do like a fog of war/ mystic mist so as you move across the board you dont know the terrain you are walking into or the enemy?
This dragon looks very nice and big.
it is the perfect dragon for dnd campaign to fear the hereos to death 😀
This looks really like the game, everybody wants to have. All of it looks so well developed. Waiting for a celestial campaign 😉
Yeah… I’ll be backing Joan of Arc.
Next question: what other ranges of 15mm figures are there that would go with what you get in the box? And are there other (war) games which would suit this period of historic / fantasy setting?
Joan Of Arc trailer, goosebumps! gimme, gimme! and then the dancing skeletons, lol 😀
Japanese forces for K47 oh boy, YES PLEASE! BANZAI!
Time of Legends as a larger range, Hazah!, personally would like to see King Arther, or perhaps William Wallace and/or Robert the Bruce centric sets, or perhaps go further afield, Japanese and Chinese History/Folklore are full of fascinating and ofttimes utterly bizarre characters and creatures.
Awesome Show Guys 😀
This Dragon is truly an Amazing figure !
I’m unsure if I’ll go in on Joan of Arc or not, but I will be getting that dragon, on way or the other!
Another great show.
For WWX is there any rumbling for the Crown and the Celestial? Also is there any plans for at least some stories of what is going on in the rest of the world? For I would like to know what is going on in Asia, Europe or where ever.
Everytime I see that dragon I go… woooh!! Ahh!! Incredible… and seeing it painted… HOT DAMN!! Amazing.
And then the trailer… oh my! oh my! salivating now…
Mythic is delivering once again. Utter epicness.
Can’t wait till Tuesday 9 CET and then the agonizing wait till the game is in my hands. If only life had a fast forward button 🙂
Joan of Arc is looking so promising, and it’s coming from a company with a proven track record – can’t wait! That Dragon is insane, and the trailer is great.
Very interesting coverage and a kickstarter I will be following. I suspect the dragon will be a painting challenge (perhaps moving into a fearful one… but one should always be fearful of dragons!)
Joan of Arc looks awesome and I hope I can come up with the money before it ends but the 7th continent 2nd printing and expansion kickstarter is first on my list. They are saying 7th Continent will never hit retail so I can’t miss out on that, atleast Joan I’ll probably be able to pick up later.
Can´t wait for the Kickstarter for this. Love to see the possibilities
I might have to back the kickstarter just to get that dragon!
That is an awesome dragon!
Want that dragon…
Plonk budget went in spools of plastic this year?
The wife and I have been trying to decided on what we want to pick up for Fallout. It’s looking like it’s going to be one of the big bundles.
I’ve been getting excited about Joan of Arc since the first peek and I have to say I like the way it’s heading. I’m a big fan of different game mechanics and from what I’ve seen this game will tick that box for me. I’m liking the sound of the interaction mechanic with the NPCs and the interrupt/replay/activation cube system. Plus any game that gives me the option for terrain I can use for other games as well (and nice looking stuff at that) is another winner. Plus to put it simply, That Impressive #@£$ing Dragon!!! 🙂
I’m already in on the Resident Evil KS. I’ve got the Minotaur one marked as well absolutely beautiful sculpts. I’m thinking of grabbing a few for Frostgrave as monsters [that’s how I’m justifying it to myself anyway ;)], especially the Chief such a great mini!
A dragon!?…Yes please!!!
I want that just to paint!
I haven’t invested in Kickstarters for a while but this one looks to drag me back in. I just love the scale of that dragon in 15mm.
That dragon is sweet!!!
This was one cool weekender!
This dragon is just WOW!
Really like the Graphic Design for Joan of Arc. Like the heroic female lead theme. Like the Angels and Werwolves. The Dragon is awesome. Just not so convinced by the 15mm scale though…
Played through Resident Evil 2 on the original PlayStation and Lobes the graphics – back then. Somehow as a board Game the Late 1990s computer graphics seem flat and uninspiring.
The Steamforged models look nice though. Probably wait for retail to get a box of the Characters and Zombies.
Hope someone (Battle Sytems?) picks up the Silent Hill license and combines their cardboard scenery with standees (like Legends of Andor / Dead of Winter). Have so many umpainted miniatures I am beginning to appreciate the straight-out-of-the-box advantages of non-Mini-board games.
Another board game suggestion – for all those wanting more Dragons – how about Anne McCaffery’s The Dragon Riders of Pern series of novels? Something for Stonemeier Games perhaps? Build the Tithe-Economy for your Holds and Weyrs, upgrade your dragonflights to fight the arrival of Thread spores. All the Dragons in different coloured plastics. Large Expansion could be the Southern Continent (new map-board). Small expansion could be Dragon Singers.
Anyway, thanks Beasts of War for another great Weekender.
I’m waiting for the Joan KS!
The dragon is the most awesome dragon I have seen. I 100% in for the Joan of Arc kickstarter. I think the coverage by Beasts of War has been excellent and a great way to see what the game is like.
That dragon is so insanely cool! If only I wasn’t well and truly broke thanks to all the recent Kickstarters 🙁
that dragon looks epic.
Joan is so cool!
Just the most gorgeous dragon I have seen since the titan dragon from Rackham. The choice of colors again is very inspiring and would love to win this just to paint it.
Looking forward to the KS guys!
I’ve seen that dragon in person. The photos do not do it justice.
Cool thing for me for the Joan of Arc is that it can be a historical or fantasy game. If purely historical I would not have been interested. This way they can appeal to more players. Painting in that scale will be a challenge for me though.
All I’ve seen so far from JoA makes me want that game.
I’m definitly going to build my own scenarios with this game engine. It’s definitly much more than just the amazing (amazing!) Dragon. There will be so much Content in this core box and a whole world with all the add-on. Sky is the Limit…no even more than that.
Watched the Trailer more than 10 times now I guess.
I believe the material will perfectly hamonize with some Cthulhu 1000AD adventures 😉
Can’t wait till tomorrow
The only 15mm scale game I have is Tanks! And I have stuck to just the templates for terrain so far. Joan of Arc offers terrain as part of the box which is cool. This is probably the only game likely to tempt me into 15mm scale painting. I like the way you can leave the fantasy and myths at the door one day and the next just dive in werewolf deep.
It’s Smaug on steroids!
Once again mythic games has proven how great they are as a company. One always get a lot of great quality miniatures for a good price. The trailer of the campaign was purely epic. I cannot wait to get this game on my hands. Keep up the great work Leo and I am once again in a good place.
Has there been any discussion of price points for JoA yet? I went all in for a Typhon pledge for MBP and while I do not regret it at all, I am not sure I can devote that much for another game.
From BGG: “120 core. 110 early bird “
I was pressing F5 like crazy, but then realized it’s only the 9th of October……time to sleep.
When Time of Legends Joan of Arc was first announced I initially thought it’d be something I would have no problem skipping, (wasn’t keen on the 15ml scale). However, as I watched the various interviews the Beasts of War team have done regarding Time of Legends Joan of Arc I quickly went from “This is one I’ll skip” to “This is one I must have all of” Yet as often happens in life other more pressing needs have come up and now I’m not sure if a pledge for Time of Legends Joan of Arc will fit within my budget over the next couple of months. I plan to pledge tomorrow, hopefully early enough, yet at this point I’m unsure I’ll be able to keep my base pledge. I do know that no matter what I will be keeping at least a dollar invested as it will allow me to be a part of what will surely be a Legendary community.
Great episode, dangerous kickstarters section, im really in on time of legends 1, so saving money for tomorrows ks launch with all add ons and dragon expansion — muhahaha!
I honestly thought that with Conan and all-in on Mythic Battles: Pantheon I would be set with regards to board games with miniatures. And along comes MB with this. Le sigh. Once more I will be buying my own Christmas present for the *following* year, and once more my yearly board game budget will be gone before the year has even begun. Le more sigh. 🙂
Holy crap, that dragon is incredible.
I hope there is a pledge for that dragon only. WOW
There is. If you just want the Dragon, you can do that.
I’d love to see sort of an rts setup with for joan of arc, so castle vs castle. Something about constant defense and attack really appeals to me. Would probably be grand as a coop tower defense deal against the monsters, with just waves of enemies assaulting your castles with of course no other then dragon being seen coming at you. Big fan of the minotaurs as well, the chieftan is wonderful.
That Dragon is insane! I will back the shit out of the Joan of Arc kickstarter! 😀
is it like GW´s Smaug size wise?
I don’t know how big GW’s Smaug is. Our Dragon has a half metre wingspan 🙂
JoA looks awesome. I haven’t played games with minis this small before but after watching this video I love the scale on the battlefield. Two things: 1. I’m getting this game just so I can play out the DRAGON smashing dancing skeletons. 2. Go armored spiders!!!
Amazing game (Joan of Arc) and amazing videos about it so far…I would love to get that Dragon 🙂
By the way, I totally agree with Warren about the games that are a collectible piece of art just because of the detail that went into them.
Yes, absolutely – I have two board games where “Work of Art” was probably the
main deciding factors (with their respective themes and “Designed for solo play”):
• This War of Mine
• Scythe
Playing these beautifully designed games is a bonus.
Empire Of Men looks awesome
Joan is Arc looks stunning even in 15mm and the dragon is the dogs dooh dahs.
The Minotaur range is beautiful.
Another top notch show guys..
when you guys were talking about the early winner for the awards, i was so sure you were gonna say that the Hobby God bag had won!
Also the dragon looks epic! Not sure about getting Joan of Arc, looks great, but don’t know if i’de ever be able to play it with anybody as i no longer live near my old gaming club.
Interested in the dragon alone if nothing else!
I will be more than happy to get a second dragon. Already anticipating a few C bills headed towards it!
It is an impressive dragon.
I’m not sure about custom dice but I’ll have to watch some of the game play vids to see how they are used.
Over the whole concept of the game sounds very interesting
I’d like to see a playthrough of Resident Evil 2
Haven’t been able to [yet] get into the *Mythic Mania* but a huuuge Dragon would definitely get me stared!
Blaster was here…
Prodos makes nice minis 🙂 But the Joan figures also look nice
Loving the look of JoA (especially the dragon). Already pledged for one on the KS, but having a second one wouldn’t be a problem!
This looks like a good game!
Really happy the K47 is growing and keeps moving forward. I love the Bolt Action rules and the models for K47 have been great.
When I saw that dragon at Gencon my heart skipped a beat. Really second to none in terms of appearance, size and scale
That dragon is simply amazing and the scale is simply huge particularly compared with the game since it is 15mm. I really didn’t want to back anymore Kickstarters at the moment, but this one is really tempting.
Fair play to mythic, this game looks like brilliant fun and the miniatures look beautiful despite the smaller scale. All of which is irrelevant, because I’m never going to be able to stop looking at that beautifully painted dragon without my tongue hanging out of my mouth. I hope the model comes with somebody with sufficient skill to paint it like that!
my wallet is hurting a lot this year. That dragon is not gonna make it better
I am really looking forward to Joan of Arc and that dragon is incredible!
WQW many things you can say about this show, one of them cant be bad lol….
really like it boys keep it up…
Here my Epic comments for the Epic Dragon.
WOW!
Seriously, the dragon details are amazing my D&D players will be jalous are scared at the same time.
About Time of Legends, this is the kind of games that I would normally ignored because it’s normally way too expensive bu this time at the legendary scale, I think it’s the perfect balance for the number of mini vs the cost of the game.
I became a KS backer for 2 reasons:
1) It’s from the same team behind Conan and Mythic Battle
2) BOW gave us good demo of the game, you are the main reason I back this game.
I hope you have more Leo and videos coming up before the end of the KS.
I want to paint that dragon but I also want to see John and Lloyd convert it into a lich dragon for his army.
Chris
I wished for a Resident Evil gameplay, and it’s now on BoW, thank you 🙂
Joan is epic!
So after much fidgeting on the fence I pulled the splinters out of my ass and backed Time of Legends: Joan of Arc.
Was there really any other outcome?
So glad that I did; they do run a fine campaign do that lot at Mythic.
That dragon looks spectacular! also keen to see more of the resident evil board game!
Really love the Dragon but thanks to the lets play videos on Beasts of War i really like the look of the game too, I was already backing the Resident evil 2 board game but decided I couldn’t pass up Time of Legends as the amount of quality miniatures and scenery along with the great game play was amazing so have found the money to back both and maybe even stretch to the legendary dragon add on unless I get one elsewhere
It’s a Dragon!
I have to admit that the Dragon and modular castle walls are pretty awesome. I could easily spend hours and just rearranging the terrain.
True, the modular scenery is good. I just wish it were 28mm 🙂
I hope we’ll get more coverage of Time of Legends
Empire Of Men went well
These are sweet looking games
I wonder if you can field two of these monstrosities for a really epic game
Afterwards that dragon will be so big with such a wide wing span, that we wont have the space to proudly present it to the world >-<
That’s no dragon, that’s a wyvern. Nice model, but still… I’m honestly not a fan of that particular design…
Anyway…
I must admit that the game looks interesting. But as with everything coming from France or Spain, I worry about the translation. That tends to be a rather big issue with these two countries in my experience.
Great episode with lots of interesting content
Having a Dragon that eats the other players army would be awesome. That is how dragons are suppose to fight.
