If you missed out on the Kickstarter for Footsore Miniatures & Games' Mortal Gods: Mythic expansion then don't fret for Footsore have now got the range available to preorder on both the UK and North American sites and I have to say they're looking pretty stunning.

The range has been sculpted to work alongside the Mortal Gods existing range which means that they will scale with Victrix plastics if you are looking to add some of these to existing forces.

Centaur // Mortal Gods: Mythic

Apart from additional human warriors such as Jason and the Argonauts or the Temple Guard of the Hera, Hades or Zeus, you can expect to find most of the well known mythological monsters from Greek tales. A rampaging herd of Centaurs like the one above armed with a variety of weapons, sword, bow and javelin and all armoured with a variety of Grecian kit, from the light peltast shield on the pictured version through to full linothorax and crested helms they are every bit the classical representation. There are also their bipedal cousins the Satyrs who are also armed with both bows or spears to defend their forests. Or perhaps you're after something more menacing than those in which case flocks of Harpies or Medusa and her Gorgon sisters may be right up your street.

But that's not why you're here though, chicken-legged women and goat-legged men? No! You're here to take a look at some of the big guns. Well don't you worry we have you covered there. You probably saw my award-winning unboxing of the Hydra during the Kickstarter, an exquisite piece of work by Trish and big enough to have the mightiest hero cowering from its stop-motion attacks. However large the Hydra is though it is not the biggest monster to come from the Kickstarter, so sharpen your stake and hide with the pigs because I give you the Cyclops...

Cyclops // Mortal Gods: Mythic

Four times the height of a man the very epitome of cyclopean it's a stunning centrepiece to any army or as an opponent for your warband in Mortal Gods an incredibly tough opponent. I don't want to worry you, but they never told the story of your heroes in any greek epics so I don't expect you to survive that encounter!

The range is launching in October on both sides of the Atlantic and if you missed the Kickstarter maybe now is the time to treat yourself. It's nice to see crowd funding platforms being used in this way to launch a fully formed range in one go, without having to wait for the game to gain traction after the initial release before you get a third faction or any new monsters. Mortal Gods: Mythic is hitting the ground running and you can pick up whatever you need from rules to heroes to foes, the only issue I see is that they have the Minotaur but no spool of thread.

If you journey into the Underworld, remind not to look back.
