Star Wars Clones by fourtytwo

We start off this week with some rather apt creations from fourtytwo. They have sat down and painted up a bunch of Clones from the world of Star Wars and they are looking very nice indeed.

Star Wars Clones #1 by fourtytwo

Rex has been finished for a little while but I have to say, the way this chap has come together is brilliant. I like the white armour with that almost grey tinge and the pattern work on the helmet. All the details have been picked out nicely too and it works well with the grey base.

The same goes for the full team of Clones that you see here. All of these are based on characters from the Clone Wars TV show!

Star Wars Clones #2 by fourtytwo

From left to right you've got Clone Medic Kix, Clone Captain Rex, Clone Trooper Tup, Clone Trooper Jesse, Clone Sergeant Appo, Clone Trooper Dogma, Heavy Clone Trooper Hardcase. It's awesome to see these characters coming to the tabletop and I like the fourtytwo took the time to try and get each of them to match their cartoon counterpart.

You''ll notice that Jesse even has the Republic symbol marked on his helmet. That would have taken some careful brushwork to get right. An awesome team and maybe we'll see fourtytwo's talent put to painting up some of the Bad Batch in the future. Atomic Mass must surely be thinking about releasing them soon!

A Song Of Ice & Fire Lannisters by artemis5150

Next up we're going from one big franchise to another. Here is some of the finished work on the Lannisters from A Song Of Ice & Fire.

Lannisters #1 by artemis5150

The thing that impressed me here was the attention to detail once again. Each of the characters has been painted up in superb fashion and lots of attention has been paid to the details. The faces are picked out wonderfully and I like the subtle changes in texture and colour throughout. Cersei's dress in particular is looking stunning.

This level of quality carries over into the regular rank and file troops too.

Lannisters #2 by artemis5150

These Lannister soldiers look fantastic and once again there is a lot of detail worked into their arms and armour. The deep red and gold work so nicely together and you can't deny that the Lannisters have a great looking army for the tabletop. Shame that they are all awful people really!

Things have come together very nicely for this army so far and if you'd like to see more images of the characters then you can check out the project link above.

Dark Angels Deathwing Knights by bothi

We finish off this week's Community Spotlight with bothi who is still working away on that impressive Dark Angels army. This time around the Deathwing Knights saw an outing, ready and willing to hunt down The Fallen.

Dark Angel Knights #1 by bothi

The thing that struck me with these miniatures was the choice of colours on display. The bone coloured armour is pretty standard for the Deathwing but I thought the choice of bright green here really set these Terminators apart from other Dark Angels I've seen. Don't get me wrong, I like the darker tones, but I think the bright green really helps them stand out.

Dark Angel Knights #2 by bothi

I guess you could say that the bright green is a very brave highlight. It runs the risk of making things look a little toy-like but I think in this case, bothi has been able to nail the look. Each of the Terminators looks absolutely badass and I think the basing material really helps to compliment the miniatures as a whole.

If you can't get enough Dark Angels then I would suggest heading on over to the project linked above as there are plenty more where they came from!
