Firelock Games is now taking pre-orders for their brand new Raise The Black expansion for Blood & Plunder plus a load of the awesome new plastic kits that were brought to life via Kickstarter. We start things off however with the very awesome new Two Player Starter Set, Blackbeard Vs Maynard!

The new starter set for Blood & Plunder is a fairly mammoth affair and comes with everything that you would need to get started in the game. The folks at Firelock got one of the first copies through to their studio recently and got stuck into an unboxing of it!

Inside, you'll find what you need to play out Blackbeard's climactic battle with the Royal Navy Lieutenant Robert Maynard. This focuses on Pirates versus the Royal Navy and includes two full crews, the men themselves and also two sloops which you can use for some ship-to-ship combat on the tabletop.

As well as the miniatures, you'll also find everything included in terms of a rulebook, cards, terrain and tokens. It is well worth getting a look at the video above for their excited first look at how all of the retail components look.

New Raise The Black Expansion Book

Following on from the new two-player starter set, we also got the news that the big new Raise The Black Book is going to be landing.

With Raise The Black and this new expansion, the focus will shift towards those fighting during the second French & Indian War, also known as Queen Anne's War. That means European and Native American raiding parties, Buccaneers, Army Units and plenty of additional pirates. As an expansion book, you will need the main rulebook in order to use this but it would be a perfect addition once you have got stuck into the contents of the two-player starter set.

The Unit & Character Cards Deck does what it says on the tin and will cover all of the different miniatures you will be able to use during your games. The Raise The Black Activation Deck is a plush way for you to level up your traditional activation deck for Blood & Plunder and it has been tweaked design-wise to make it "aesthetically pleasing".

Following on from that, we have another of the massive collections that will most likely be on everyone's wishlist for a while. New plastic sets are on the way covering a variety of different forces.

Pirates Of Legend leads the way with a new set packed with ten different heroic and villainous fellows for you to choose from. Represented within are miniatures for Black Sam Bellamy, Stede Bonnet, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, Black Bart, Amaro Pargo, Calico Jack, Le Buse, Charles Vane, and Black Ceasar.

This marks just the start of the offerings in plastic though as you also have all of these!

Last but not least, there is also the new plastic ship box which is looking superb and a nice way to step beyond having to deal with resin and metal. The big lead-in starts with the 18th Century Bermuda Sloop.

This caps off the big set of releases coming out for Blood & Plunder in the wake of their Kickstarter delivery. I think we're going to be seeing a lot of people diving in and creating new Blood & Plunder crews with these kits.

It should be noted that these products are all available to pre-order and won't be shipped until December. Still, it might be a good idea to get your orders in now so that you're ready to start battling come Christmas and the new year!
