Happy weekend everybody!
weekend starts NOW !!!!!!
Smash the Like button? Who is going to pay for the damage!
We have a dedicated team of like button repairers working round the clock
Just Brilliant not heard that before.
Gerry, how do the Warmonger Orcs scale against Westfalias Halflings???
The orcs are very good for frostgrave…. or sage for example…. XD
They would indeed work well in the game Lloyd loves most
Yippee… it’s the weekend again! ?
You were right @warzan I wet more than my pants over the Oldhammer nostalgia… ???
I may have enjoyed the jaunt through the Dwarf section a little to much as well!
Don’t forget those fishmen… what big mouths they have! ?All these minis I think would fit in with the range from Diehard Miniatures you featured a few weeks ago (or months – time in Covid seems to be endless as one week merges into the next). I think there maybe a market for them there Oldhammer stuff you know! ??
Never @brennon!
Funny made me think , there was way back in the day a set of crusader drwaves, but can’t remember who did them.
Happy weekend!
I really love the oldhammer minis, they are epic sculpts that fill me with nostalgia.
They certainly hit all the right buttons!
Yay let the weekender fun begin.
Well normally don’t catch show till Sat morning, old traditionalist that I am , but today decided to catch it on a Friday evening, I must say it was a good decision , finished work and chilled out with a bottle of wine, having already wolfed down two excellent bottles of porter. Superb Indy of the week (Best bit of show, and well worth the time spent on it)
I now have to make an Important announcement!!!!!!!!!
BOB’S SPECIAL NO-PRIZE OF THE YEAR…….triumphant trumpet call……
(Slight pause as Bob ruffles through his pocket for a rumpled bit of paper)
goes to Gerry for ………Discworld Frostgrave.
I shall be petitioning the Queen fof his Knighthood.
Or I might just paint up a Conquest Knight in his honour with a sheild of crossed guiness barrels….or guinness harps rampant.
The tree trolls could be the reason the ewoks have the homes high up in the trees @warzan
Love Warmonger’s stuff. I have a few packs of their goblins and they are so characterful!
@oriskany Jim you should see if you can add the Santa an bazooka for the Xmas battle.
Has Lloyd re-arranged his hobby room?
Well spotted!
Not the Mamma Errol.
The Foundry website has always been a marvel to visit! The 2000 AD range was also absolutely fantastic and I’m sad to see it gone.
Yeah I think they went the way of the Dodo around the time Warlord picked up the licence.
So many good minis at ‘Warmonger Miniatures’. I may have to put together a shopping list.
Happy weekend everyone, time to settle down for the show
Warmonger / Foundry do lovely models
Got to be Conquest two player starter set
the female guard look great.
a fab show guys.
Me thinks you want the prize @zorg
no more than everyone else.
IT’S THE wEEKEND!!
Yes I can – next question!
Brilliant show as ever. Have a great weekend guys!
I want to ein the 2 player set so bad… please… nice show by the way guys
Great show! I’m looking forward to the Infinity releases!
No discussion on FFG’s release of the new Descent? Next week?
News came out on Friday after we filmed this. So – it will be in next week!
Looking forward to that update.
I’ve enjoyed the apps they created for Descent 2nd ed, Imperial Assault, and Lord of the Rings.
Based on the podcast the new edition sounds like it’ll be fantastic as they added lessons learned and updated play styles.
My concern is a price point of $175. It’s a Gloomhaven level game at a Gloomhaven price that requires me to run it on a app. Plus its FFG so you know it’ll be 4 dice short of a perfect experience and will have ten expansions by the end 2021.
I have to admit that those Conquest minis look fun to paint.
Old School Orcs are the best orcs!
Weekend at last – New TAGs for Infinity and oldhammer minis, not a bad Friday night in
Will you guys please stop dangling stuff in front of me to start….Then saying it’s free for the rule ! What is a man supposed to do to avoid the temptation. Already ended up on the forest dragon patreon and building a vampire count and wood elf warmaster armies because you guys flaunted it around on here. And don’t think I fell down that hole alone….Oh no, took my whole gaming group with me kicking and screaming (admittedly some more feebly than others 😉 ). You are becoming a menace to my financial stability…. Do carry on.
Stick with gw. No “the first thing is free” to tempt you there ?
oldhammer..was nice for its time.. I’m even older then these guys and I’m still thinking I like the new stuff better. Guess I can’t join the grognard club
The Wargames Foundry/Warmonger figures are lovely. I think I still prefer the old Grenadier ranges as there not quite as cartoony but its a close call
@torros your showing your age their, I maybe the only other person eho remembers those.
@bobcockayne there still available from http://www.mirliton.it but the site seems down at the minute
Good to see Conquest getting some skirmish rules.
GW seems to have had great success with the concept of Underworlds/kill team and now Warcry being a gate way into AoS/4Ok.
They might even resurrect “epic 40K” with AI and AT being the same scale…..just shudder to think of the cost though.
I enjoyed seeing all the old hammer orcs. that was cool, I have a load of black reach orks and gorkamorka vehicles that I wanted to play around with for orktober but sadly my life had other plans. im assuming orkvember is a thing right? right? interestingly I have already backed the ADF female guard to play the role of OPFOR for my orks. going to base them all the same and then my childhood want for ork vs guard will have a modern and nostalgic appeal to me
No I didn’t go on Warmonger site and just order some Orcs in Rennasiance clothes to build a Mordhiem war and.
They would work well for Gerry’s Discworld Frostgrave.
Those Skirmish rules are really tempting me to get another force. I want a Jotnar!!
Yup I was thinking that…….a fun one @warzan would be to a skirmish in a castle, with 100 Kingdoms men at arms on one side, and Nord raiders on the othe to do a conquset version of the classic Vikings movie…. bugger I’ve given myself the idea !
Would be amazing! I’m already planning a settlement board for raiding missions.
If the event ever ends, would a be a great thing to play out!
Happy weekend folks.
With all this great Oldhammer stuff and WHFB mentioned so often in many places lately I want to share an aficionado website I discovered a few days ago. It has rules, army books and much more for WHFB. Enjoyable as it is it brought and brings back fond memories of painting sessions, gaming sessions and distributing points for armies.
https://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the show. See you tomorrow.
Enjoyed that one guys
I strongly approve of all the fancy hats on the orcs from Warmonger
and i get a Hagar the Horrible feel from the Dwarves
Fancy hats are always a winner. Are wargamers all closeted millenary pervs? Could be!
I watched this saturday afternoon instead of in the morning this week and now Ivel ost all sense of what time it is and now the clocks are going to go back tonight? Im going to be so confused.
It’s 2020. Time lost its meaning long ago
Mostly true, with a few exceptions: Lunch time, Time to sign in to work, Time to sign out of work, and time for a pint
I can still make time for a pint. Take that 2020!
happy weekend everyone
i really like the Warmonger Miniatures.
I can’t resist taking a few figures with me every year when I go to crisis antwerp, these figures bring a smile to my face every time, it shouldn’t be all grim and dark in every war game.
my son tries to convince me to start congeust I like the figures, but I like more terrain on the playing field (I like the hobby side of our hobby more) and we choose the same figures every time makes it even more difficult even the new figures for the future we like DINOSAURS !!! both.
????
Hey Warren….I’ll go halfsies with you on Warcry. You keep the board and doors and I get the rest!
That was a great show and wonderful to see Warmonger are the Indie of the week as they have such a wonderful range. Now you need to do Foundry next @warzan, @brennon, @avernos, @lloyd
There is an oldhammer show every year organised by Foundry/Warmonger
https://www.warmongerminiatures.com/blogs/news/oldhammer-2019#:~:text=2019,-August%2008%2C%202019&text=%22BRING%20OUT%20YOUR%20LEAD%20is,Stoke%20near%20Newark%2C%20Nottinghamshire..
im doing very well at not getting into any new wargames… but if I won a new wargame, that wouldn’t count
Happy Weekend!
Gerry, the “to the eye” measurement has been explained to me as being used because you can see the eyes on (almost) every mini, but the top of the head is regularly obscured by some kind of hat, making it a difficult point to measure to. 🙂
Happy hobby weekend guys!
Happy weekend!
Really like the Wargames Foundry and Warmonger, lots of interesting minis there!
I’ll be watching Steamforge’s Bardsung KS, it will have solo rules and i/we might need this… So far, i like what i see on this project.
See you guys on the XLBS!
Loving the gobbo jester. I can image the hilarity with the punch and judy show!
I really like Warmonger and Wargames foundry Oldhammer minis. Looking over the Dwarves made me remember how I started in fantasy 🙂
Bit of a price hike between Warcry and Catacombs, but I ordered it anyway.
Privateer Press doing the ks thing again when they don’t need crowdfunding. Sick of the ks=pre-order system.
Warmonger have such an awesome line of miniatures! Have a great weekender!
Conquest is such a great game. Love the models!
Those goblins are adorable and belong in one of my games… but not sure which one!
Wheres my credit card Warmonger Miniatures are calling, why Do I put my self through this every week my bank cannot take much more, Also looking forward to the new Core Space kickstarter on Wednesday.
I see more and more oldhammer around. I don’t know if it is because of greater interest interest in the community or if I’m just noticing it more.
First off, those oldhammer models are fantastic!
2ndly, I must say, Conquest has gotten my attention and the attention of a bunch of our locals here in New England, USA. We’ve got about 5-7 stores suddenly starting to carry it and can’t keep it on the shelves!
I had a great demo game on Table Top Simulator the other day, and then played a nice 1000 pt game with another new Conquest player (100 Kingdoms for him, Spires for me) yesterday and it was great! Thanks for helping to re-introduce this great game!
Great idea to have a skirmish rule set that is the same as the main battle game in conquest. I like code one and wish they had tried to get streamlined versions of all mechanics in n4, as it is not quite as smooth an intro into n4 if you play code one.
lots of cool stuff out, Warmonger minis look very cool.
Conquest starter set looks very “nice!”
There’s a real charm in the old school mini designs before folk started digitally creating them and having a machine fart out the end result.
I do miss the old GW sculpts, much more easy and fun to paint
As I can’t play our regular games on a Friday night Fridays have now become a painting and Weekender night. The only problem is my Saturday mornings are a bit empty now!
I’m interested in how Conquest Skirmish plays, Warcry has been tempting me but something isn’t quite clicking into place for me. Maybe Conquest has it.
Those orcs rock.
I am looking forward to play Conquest
@brennon It make perfect sense for a Dwarf lover to also love goblin minis. Every good dwarf needs something to hold a grudge against.
I would have a fair sum of oldhammer piled somewhere in the wall of investment I’d venture .
