Games Workshop has decided that we need more Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game goodness this weekend and I for one totally agree! A new selection of classic miniatures are going to be available for both the forces of Good and Evil.

The first of the sets that I am totally onboard with snapping up is this Amon Hen set which totally passed me by when I was younger and this dropped! It comes with some ace miniatures for Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn alongside a dying Boromir and Lurtz who is at the ready to deliver the killing blow.

You also get Merry and Pippin in the set being carried away by a band of Uruk Hai scouts! This is a great set for recreating that fateful moment at the end of The Fellowship Of The Ring, and I could see this being a very popular set.

Another of the sets that I am particular interested in is the duo of Elladan & Elrohir, the sons of Elrond and utter badasses.

Again, these were miniatures that entirely passed me by back in the day but I would love to get a hold of them to build on my little collection of classic Middle-earth miniatures. I have Murin & Drar already (also available this weekend) but it would be fun to have an Elf duo to sit alongside the Dwarven one!

Finally, at least for my picks from this coming weekend, we have Galadriel who could be painted up in her traditional white as you see here.

She could also be painted up in her slightly more fearsome scheme when she dreams of claiming The Ring for herself and becoming an avenging queen! Either way, I reckon she'll be a fun project to paint and a good addition to an army of Elves on the tabletop.

Forces Of Evil

On the side of Evil, we also have a few releases that you can dive in and check out. Perhaps you'd like the Witch King with a sword at the ready? At least, I think this is the Witch-King but he could well be just one of the Nazgul.

There's also a chance to include a heavy hitter in a different style with not one but two Cave Trolls for you to decide between this week.

This one comes with a Spear but you can also get one with a great big hammer which is perfect for squishing Hobbits. Both of these are seriously chunky kits and they might take a bit of getting used to when it comes to modelling but they should be a fun addition to a Goblin force from under the mountain.

Finally, I'm going to call this pair of fellows Orc Captains but they could be something different. I'm sure some folks can help me out in the comments.

I thought these folks were very cool though and put me in mind of the raiding army that attacked Osgiliath and drove Faramir and his men from the ruins. I like that one of them has scavenged some Gondorian armour though and made it his own. Some nasty fellows!

There are a few more releases to go and check out on the Warhammer Community Blog so if you're interested in what else is on the way, make sure to go take a peek. There are plenty of folk here who love their Middle-earth so maybe keep an eye out this weekend!

What do you make of these re-releases?
