Harry Potter Miniature Game Coming From Knight Models

Knight Models showed off a lot of different previews of what's ahead for the DC Universe but they're also going to be planning a Harry Potter Miniature Game for next year!
When you think about it they're not lacking for characters to sculpt up and they already have two factions for you to collect. Whether or not it will feel a little less diverse and interesting due to that is a different matter.
The idea of playing Aurors or Death Eaters does sound quite fascinating but it would be fun to see it being played out in a different time period away from the Harry Potter books. Probably wouldn't sell as well though!
With Fantastic Beasts out soon too there is plenty of scope for them to create monsters!

This looks like a licence to print money – and a massive influx of people into tabletop games.
Interesting times.
I doubt there will be an influx of new gamers if the miniatures are like Knight Models other offerings. Most castings I’ve gotten from them are way too much of a pain to clean and assemble. Hopefully they can do better with HP, as I do like KM’s rules.
OMG! Is it my birthday? I’m so excited about this! This is another one of those perfect gateway points for non-gamers to have a go at tabletop gaming. Players and collectors will be all over this. 😀
I’m not a big harry potter fan, but this game has me really intrigued. I hope they keep it away from Hogwarts, and focus on the adults in the story’s.

Should be easy to paint as everyone wears basically the same black robes. Not sure how they can sculpt wants in metal at that scale without them looking like footlong sandwiches.
Maybe every box of minis will come with a pack of paper clips?

I might actually get my girlfriend into miniature games with this!! She can’t turn anything down power related.
As far as the game goes, obviously I would love to see a skirmish game with two small groups of wizards and witches going against each other. Plus there is a massive potential for scenarios and campaigns from the book material.
But it would also be amazing if they purely did it based on Fantastic Beasts. Imagine one player controlling a group of wizards while another player just controls one over powered magical beast!!
Wish they had done this when my kids were still kids.

I’m not a a fan of Harry Potter at all and from a personal perspective I can’t think of many novel/hollywood licenses I want to see in tabel top form less. That being said, I think that if this game is to succeed and do well, Knight Models really need to be looking at doing single case plastics or at the very least ultra simple plastic kits.
