Plastic Soldier Company has started taking pre-orders for a new set of Ultracast 20mm miniatures. The British Eighth Army Platoon boxed set bundles together all the bits and bobs you need to get started in Battlegroup and will be delivering to folks from next week.

The miniatures here follow on from the offerings that we saw a little while back for the Germans and the Waffen-SS. Adler Miniatures were behind the original sculpts for these but they have been produced in Plastic Soldier's new Ultracast material to suit the rest of their collection.

As you can see above, the pack comes with a bunch of 20mm miniatures for you to tinker with. You've got HQ options, NCOs, Riflemen, LMG Teams (Walking & Prone) plus also Mortar Teams ( Walking & Prone). This means that you should have enough to get you started in Battlegroup as you fight it out across the sands.

The miniatures are looking pretty nicely detailed as you can see above and you can make out all of their kit, weapons, and faces nicely. There does appear to be a bit to clean up on the miniatures but you often get that with any miniature you buy. All you'd need to do after buying these is take a leaf out of Warren's book and attack them with Contrast paints!
