Knight Models Introduce Us To First Year Harry Potter & Friends

Knight Models are not content on just introducing new miniature kits for Batman and DC as they also provided a preview of the new Harry Potter, Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger set which is coming this weekend for the Harry Potter Miniatures Adventure Game. This set gives you the three main characters as they were during their first year at Hogwarts.

This is a neat set which gives you a slightly more whimsical and less serious set of our heroes from their harrowing time at Hogwarts. Each of them seems to have been sculpted to match their character with Hermione, the bookish one, surrounded by tomes and with her familiar cat nearby. Harry is atop his broom which makes sense and of course, Ron is hanging out looking cheeky with Scabbers.
This set will be available over the weekend and give you another way to approach playing games set within the Harry Potter universe.

Nice touch from Knight models to add the younger versions to the series allowing fans to recreate the earlier movies
Now I haven’t read the books for at least 10 years now but I do back my memory (it is one of the things that hasn’t gone ) and Hermione did NOT have her cat familiar in her first year(not until 3rd year I think). That being said , they are nice minis and players of the game will love them.

Did she have him right away in the films? I kind of thought that she had the cat familiar from the very start, it just wasn’t accused of eating Ron’s rat until the third year.
What kind of familiar did she have in her first year and what untoward thing happened to it?
I am told (talking with my family pottermaniac) that JKR came up with the idea of familiars and their purpose in the narrative a few books in, but when they made the films they were included from the outset otherwise it would seem a bit strange. Any issues with that interpretation, speak with my daughter!
