Andrew May has been having more fun in the world of Medieval Marginalia. One of the creatures that has been somewhat overlooked during past projects is the classic Fantasy dragon. Well, that has been rectified with the new project, Here Be Dragons.

Here Be Dragons - Meridian Miniatures

There are ten new miniatures in the collection based on artwork from those classic Medieval manuscripts doodled by monks who were clearly letting their creativity get the better of them. There are some wonderful designs in the collection ranging from the "That's obviously a dragon" to the "I wonder what he was thinking when he drew that".

Medieval Dragons #1 - Meridian Miniatures

As with the rest of the Medieval Marginalia range (which is available as part of the Kickstarter) these would be perfect for use as minions in your Fantasy wargames. You could add these into all manner of Indie wargames out there which call for interesting critters.

I think you could have a lot of fun painting these in the style that you see here but you might also find it fun to try and paint them in a more grimdark style. Imagine these things with a stone texture to them painted as awakened gargoyles, perhaps with a bit of blood drooling from their maws!

This small campaign only has a few days left so make sure to head on over and check it out!

Will you be seeking out some dragons?
