Parallax is now back on Kickstarter looking to find funding for their skirmish game packed with personalised and characterful warbands. In this game YOU pick the paths that your warriors take and there is a real sense that you're putting a lot of your own thinking into this game...

Parallax

You can learn more about the basics of the game in the video above (always something useful when you're looking at Kickstarters) but as well as that here is a run down of 'what you need to know' below...

  • Five unique races;
  • Five specialized classes;
  • Two different, yet compatible, ways to play:
    - Campaign mode: Build your character from the ground up choosing attributes, skills and progression paths;
    - Personality mode: Compose your Warband from a wide selection of pre-made characters;
  • More than 100 distinct skills and abilities for character creation;
  • Your character gains new skills as you play;
  • More than 44 different Contract Cards;
  • Streamlined d10 System, where injuries impact characters as the battle progresses;
  • Beautifully detailed miniatures available in two scales - standard 28mm size and 'champion' 35mm scale.
  • Original short story by Gav Thorpe
  • Original 'Choose Your Own Adventure' story by Tom Haswell

...and of course you would like to take a look at the miniatures I imagine? Here are some of the warbands that exist at present. They have also developed these miniatures to be available at both 28mm and 35mm scale. The later is named their 'champion' scale.

Rain Of Death

Go and check this one out as the miniatures look great. I was first drawn to this by their Sicarius warriors (the chaps in the Rain of Death set) and then when I noticed models like their Minotaur and the huge elephant warriors I was rather taken with them.

The system looks interesting here and they also appear to have learned lessons from their first run out with funding platforms. I hope they get funded!

What do you think of the game?
