Warhost's Andy Hobday has been showing off some of the new Outremer sculpts coming to Kickstarter soon. Each of these sculpts will be expanding their The Barons' War 28mm Historical wargame and delving into The Crusades.

Knights Of The Order Of St John - The Barons War

All of the sculpts, once again, come from the talented hand of Paul Hicks and will be brought to life thanks to the partnership with Footsore Miniatures & Games. I am a sucker for a Crusading Knight and seeing The Order Of St John is pretty awesome. I love the robed knightly look, especially with a solid and cool looking helmet.

These knights might find themselves watching over Pilgrims on the road and protecting them from Bandits. Some Pilgrims could handle themselves though!

Bandits - The Barons War

Pilgrims // The Barons' War

This is perfect scenario material as you have to keep watch over a band of Pilgrims getting picked off by Bandits as they near The Holy Land. Maybe you could make your warband of choice a little weaker and have it made up of mostly Pilgrims watched over by one weary knight who has found themselves tangled up in their misadventures.

Forces Of Saladin

As well as the Christians, the Outremer campaign is also working on a set of warriors fighting for Saladin. Here are some of the Ayyubid Spearmen.

You could use these for fights against the Crusaders States but also in border skirmishes and petty disputes amongst clans and warlords. There was a lot of fighting across the Middle East during this period and you could find people scrapping for all sorts of reasons.

According to the folks at Warhost, these warriors could even find themselves fighting alongside the Franks, a local Kalifah or perhaps even a Bandit Commander. This is just a taste of what's to come and a lot more is planned for the Outremer expansion.

The Greatest Knight

Separate from the Outremer previews, we also got a look at a new character model for an upcoming The Barons' War mini-campaign.

The Greatest Knight refers to William Marshal who also became known as "The Marshal". He served five different English kings during his time and he had a hand in a lot of different and pivotal moments in English history.
