Star Wars Rebels Painting

As the title say, I’ve been painting some rebels specialist. They are basically painted up like normal rebel troopers, but there are a few differences in alien race and skin tones. Earlier In this blog I painted up a snail with shotgun (one of my favorite weapons) but now its was time for rest.

My snipers skin tone was done in AP Mat White, and washed with AP Red Tone. Her was painted AP Unifrom Grey, and washed with Nuln oil, and lightly driebrushed with AP Uniform Gray again.

I think it looks really nice, but the idea for this skin tone, came from my Goblin Town goblins who, is also painted up the same way.

My com specialist(humun) is painted up the same way as my officer in a earlier entry but with a different skin tone. I used AP Tanned Flesh, and GW Flesh Shade.

The Troopers specialist (alien) gave him a AP Skeleton Bone, and GW Arthrax earthshade.

In the back ground you can se the moist catchers we see on Tatooine. I Gave them a base paint of AP Dessert Yellow, washed them up GW Arthrax Earstshade, gave them a very rough drybrush of AP Skeleton Bone, and called them done.

Not the prettiest, but not the worst either.

Been a while, since i made an update, and the biggest reason is my phone had broken down, but now I got a new phone, so time for a little update.

Ive been painting some of the barricades from the 2 player starter set. I think you can buy them separately as well.

I tried to keep it as simple as possible, so it will be easy to paint, and look good on any gaming table I put them on.

For starter I gave them a AP Mat Black spray. Afterwards i used VJ German grey on all of the model, followed up with a drybrush of AP Plate Mail Metal, followed up by a GW Nuln Oil.

After the whole thing is dry i started painting some screens in AP Voidshield Blue, and AP Pure red for the buttons.

And thats it! Im pretty happy with the result, simple but nice.

Just at few pics from the tournament, i went 11 out of 16 so not to scrabby. especially with a list not made for tournament play 🙂

People was surprised by all my hairy wookies, and it helped me, but i was facing a lot of armor and i had some isures with it though the tournement. My strategy was to avoid/ignor the armor i was facing, and go for objektives.

My first battle was intercept the transmission, and we had limited visibilty as our condition, and it helped me a lot to not be short at the first turn. Especialy because i was facing clones, and they have some serious firepower. I had some lucky dice rolls, and out flanked him and sat on all objektives more or less the whole game.  I was very agressive with my assault units (fleet troops, wookies and walkers) . The batlle ended 10-1, he sneaked R2-D2 behind my lines and got him self 1 point.

I lost the 2 next matches. The short version of why i lost those battle, i was not aggressive enough and bottle necked my units, so they got shot to pieces. Basically my second match was a rebels,a land speeder, air speeder and 2 walkers, and he had to chose the cards for deployment, mission and condistion, with made it harder for me. The battle ended 2-4 so still not to shappy.

The third match was a completely new challenge for me, Sepratist with the big tank. I have a few pics of that battle below. It was probely the best game, even though I lost 5-7. There was a lot droids and i havent faced them before. It was a very close call, but great fun. I got a taste of Count Doku’s lighting. The game was pretty close until turn 4 where i made a some mistakes.

So it’s time again, to participate in a tournament. This time in the far North part of Denmark and traveling with some friends, and it’s gonna be fun.

As I mentioned, I got some paint on some rebels, iv been painting up some more troops and some troop upgrades, a walker and Leia

Pinted them all the same way as the rest of my beloved rebels 🙂

Leia was painted a little like the fleet trooperes, but i used more light blue for her pants. and then highlighted them a bit, but otherwise i used the same methods for her as I did for the rest of my rebels

So a big update, I finally got my ass in gear and started basting. And so fare im very happy withe the results. I have also been painting up some more models, but i will put them in another entry.

My theme have always been Scarif from Rouge One (the nice beach planet) even if Luke and the rest haven’t been there.

Now for the basics, all the bases are painted AP Skeleton bone, then i used vallejo ground texture grey sand 26.215.

Brown Battlefield from AP is glued on around half the base. I just use standad white glue. Afterward im using the 12 mm tufts I showed in an earlier post. On some of the bases i used other leftover turfs from other projekts.

On the bigger bases like my walkers, I used some plastic plants.

On some of the bases i have made a little beach. but I explained how to make them in a older post, yet they are still not finish, i cant seem to make the foam from the wawes to work right.

But otherwise im pretty happy with the result.

I totally forget, I got a father’s day present from my little kitty Leia. Very fitting with Leia from Leia (my gf bought it for her ? )

She is allready primed and assambled. Hope to have her ready for my next game.

Another bonus, I got some of my basing material home from green stuff world, 12 mm Grass and a cutter to make small jungle leaves

Hopefully I will start basing them this week, but I must admit the heat we had the last couple of days her in denmark makes me lazy hobby wise ?
