Yes, WFB is still High Elves and Skaven in the two-player starter. Wild West Exodus has a two-player starter though I don’t think it comes with any terrain. Dystopian Wars has one, I think it’s with 2D terrain. Ditto for Firestorm Armada.
When do you guys tape these?
I like those buildings for steampunk very unique look.
Seems they fixed it, i can watch it. 4ground has nice buildings. Also for bolt action, they are pre coloured, but the ones for bolt action have the laser burn marks on them. Witch isnt to bad as we play in war torn towns 🙂

I was impressed by the terrain you guys had in the Wolsung’s demo game, but this terrain looks so incredibly cool. It probably will work fantastically in warhammer or kings of war… or any DnD game. I pray to youtube and bow gods 😀 to be picked as a winner.

And yes Justin was correct, their website states that the buildings are pre-painted, but unassembled (quote – 28S-FAR-S1 this is a “28Standard” 4Ground set with high detail and pre-painted parts.)

The price this week is awesome. Played a game of Mordheim yesterday, had to find treasures which were placed on the streets. These buildings would have taking the game to a whole new level. I love the detailing inside and out.
Why would you do yourself up as ancient samurai warrior? Because someone in the toy marketing department thought kids might buy it. It might sound cynical but Transformers exists to sell toys. That’s what the original cartoon was designed to do.
Yeah, pandering to the merchandising side of the business is probably the only part of the Transformers movies that is true to the original. This latest one was clearly intended to do well in China above all else though (it premiered there, it takes place there, it’s filled with a ton of Chinese brand placement that western audiences won’t even notice). This movie is all business, and it’s doing really well financially regardless of what we think of it.
It’s taken $751.5 million at the box office so far with no less than $280 million of that in China alone.
I love those 4ground buildings. Good show guys. I hope I can win for once.
Surprisingly impressed with Lloyd’s Movie Review!
I thought that the first one was okay… ish… but it’s been garbage on two legs from then on. I’m pretty sure that the only reason that I watched the second and third movies was to see if Bay had done anything redeeming.

For the other starter sets, Spartan games have Operation Valhalla for Firestorm Armarda and Shadow Hunter for Dystopian Wars. Both give quite good value.

I have some of the 4Ground Bolt Action buildings and I was blown away by the quality. These new style would look great for Warhammer/Malifaux/Mordheim etc. Off topic, super excited for Infinity 3rd Ed.

And I think Lloyd did good stand-in job. That hosting type of style is a thing that improves with experience. You could see Lloyd getting more into it during the show.
Taking a closer look at that cool Infinity mat it looks as if you could put more than one next to each other, possibly even the diagonals would work.
As a “slumming role-player”, I would buy this mat to play a Traveller skirmish or indeed any Science Fiction game.

Guys thats a cool mat but Fontline Gaming released a bunch of different designs awhile ago in both 4’X4′ and 6’X4′. They are super detailed, the same mouse pad material and come in a bunch of different styles like Snow, urban, grass, a battlefield of craters in both sizes. I’m kinda disappointed you haven’t seen them, their a bunch of great guys.

Another great show, careful with the Quit smoking tablets Justin. It is a psychotropic drug, regardless of what it is marketed as, they nearly did my head in when I took them, some of my friends went quite manic, with one becoming profoundly depressed. Make sure someone who cares keeps an eye on you. the bad stuff usually seems to set in around weeks 4-5 on the course. I ended up going cold turkey. 6 months since the last smoke.

If I am correct, the great looking underwater skirmish game of DeepWars doesn’t have a proper starter set, and maybe that is the reason I can’t get anyone of my friends interested in it… )) However the miniatures get lots of positive opinions, some people even buy a couple for themselves to paint and put on the shelves. But the game itself doesnt catch anyone, which is quite sad in my opinion.

Man, I havent been to the cinema since 2009. I saw a film called “Moon” which I was surprised to like as it was kinda 2001ish. I usually avoid cinema SF films as they just arent my thing – and it’s a lot of effort and expensive too. They’d have to do like, oh I dunno maybe a faithful adaptation of Rendezvous with Rama, Stephen Baxters Ring would be incredible or if it was possible maybe Olaf Stapledon’s Star Maker….man I’d be so excited if they did any of those sort of stories, prolly never happen though sadly.

4Ground’s buildings are superb, currently collecting their Oriental range for my Samurai games.
I love this I want this please pick me because I play warhammer fantasy and I need some new models since my mom sold my warhammer ork and empire army without telling me now I have elves and skaven since they don’t make the big box sets with book anymore plus most Tucson players don’t bring building terrain id be the envy of tucson at gw or hats games next tournament

great show. first, army of darkness is a must have and second: i think starterboxes like dust are way cooler because you can choose your own faction. what is cool about a starter if i want to begin with a different army?!

Roads in infinity would cause issues because a road = a massive lane of fire with next to zero cover. You would have to invest in matching vehicles for that infinity map because the idea of having those huge roads without any cover, well. You would end up with a no-mans land due to all the ARO’s.
The infinity icestorm starter set looks excellent and combined with that gaming mat from Micro arts and some of their buildings as well would be a brilliant package.

It’s amazing how many more comments there are on weekenders when there’s a prize going that are just about ‘that’ alone and don’t add anything else. I love all the tangential debates from members comments that emerge in response to the guys’ discussions and reading the comments is a big part of enjoying the weekender for me at least. It’s getting kind of hard to find these and follow the thread of discussion when there are pages of ‘This would be great for my…’ comments. Not having a go at anyone – people are just entering a competition of course and that’s cool, but it does just slightly undermine the point of a meaningful comments section (again only IMHO) for me. What a cool show – brilliant buildings, I love the “fantasy-ish”, slightly comic style.
Warhammer Fantasy currently Island of Blood with High Elves and Skaven, it will probably change if/when the rumoured 9th Edition comes out.
An interesting/cool thing than GW stores did when island of blood was released was you could have a set with double Elves or double Skaven at the expense of the other. I have a standard set, Elves/Skaven but also bought another set with double Elves instead to bulk up my Sword Masters, Spearmen and Reaver Knights.

The original Transformers film in the 80’s was huge for me. I didn’t really give a monkeys when Bambi’s mum died. But killing off my childhood hero? – And him staying pretty much dead until the last episodes (which I never actually saw). That was shattering for my very young self…
Plus, well. The music.

I think there were rules for using roads in 40k up until 7th edition.
Those are some of the nicest buildings I have seen in a while if they’re pre coloured all the better
I’ve been disappointed by most of the Transformers movies. I appreciate that the movies have made something I love more popular again…but It’d be nice if the movies weren’t total crap.
Oh dear, yes, the Transformers movie was not great, to say the least! It dragged on for too long, and this “seed” that they had to protect could’ve been transported by the flying dinobot, instead of giving it to Stanley Tucci’s business/nerd exec’ guy, or indeed by Optimus, who reveals he could fly all along!
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was miles better. I think Koba the ape on horseback, dual wielding machine guns was, perhaps, maybe, who knows really, meant to be like Al Pacino’s Scarface, because Koba has a scarred face, and goes in with gun blazing… 😛 Maurice the orangutan was my favourite. 🙂
Why are the Turtles acting like black American’s? Why not Native American’s? Or make them all Japanese, since Splinter and the Shredder act like/are Japanese? Why not make it make sense!? And Leonardo does look quite, quite, shit.

At the start of the show I paused it and googled for like 15 minutes the chemical formula on Lloyds shirt. I found out that its caffeine, just to get a close up 2 minutes later, where I could read on the shirt, that its caffeine. Lol.

I hadn’t seen the content list for the box yet. Even though I already play Infinity that looks so awesome I might still get it. Mostly for the terrain and some extra Nomads minis.

Ok, I don’t know if I’m late or not but will comment anyway: I really like the 4Ground buildings. We use a bunch of them for Dead Mens Hand and looking forward to set up a pirate table. The new buildings will probably fit…
I’d normally prefer to paint my own terrain than buy pre-painted, but as long as I could add to them a bit, I think those 4Ground buildings would look really good.
I wonder if they’d been around when Mordheim came out whether that game would have taken off more widely. I always liked the look of it, but very rarely saw good looking scenery outside of the pages of White Dwarf. The card and plastic Necromunda terrain worked perfectly well for that game, but I don’t think the card and plastic terrain for Mordheim really created the necessary mood.
That Infinity mat looks very good too. Would love to see it in real life!
Huh, I need that kit for my Pitatetown. A few bit and pieces to make it look like Tavernas and stuff and we are ready to go.

The Infinity Cityscape mat could be used in far more wargames and RPG’s the just Infinity and 40K. Mercs, Necromunda, Judge Dredd and Urban War are games I play which could use this mat and I’m sure there are others. Looking forward to getting one of these….
Actually Step 1 should have been to take the T-Shirt off…not set fire to it as you would first think…..that really hurts… where the hell is a fire extinguisher when….still can’t….

Hello Folks, Hope all is well with you all. Lloyd the apes movie just saw it. I loved it great movie , I’m a huge fan of the 60’s – 70’s shows movies and the TV as well. By the way it was a horse that Koba the scared chimp was on with twin SAWs . Loved the weekender even with Warren off on Vacation you all did a great job. Please keep it up.

The serpentine missile path it to bypass/confuse anti-missile systems like the Phalanx guns on US navy ships.

@lloyd I saw the movie mid-last week, before I saw your review, and I agree with you most of the way. When Optimus upgraded from beat-up wreck to shiny new chassis, and not 10 minutes earlier he was saying he needed his fellow Autobots to patch him up… yeah that was the beginning of the downhill slide.
Hmmm – 275 mins would be over 4.5 hours…
try 165 mins (IMDB) which is 2.75 hours… although by the sounds of it it would feel like 4.5

And really, does Transformer need such sneering dissapproval. It is a kids film, designed to sell toys. As geeks and hobbyists we are very priviledged to have grown up with these toys and to now live in an age where such films are mainstream, and so by which we can indulge ourselves.

The Apes movie was alot better than the transformers one, went to both this weekend and transformers is atrocious.
So sad as a transformers fan to see it butchered like that

The thing to remember is Bay is attempting to commit death by fan boy. so he is trying to make the movies bad. Next i don’t know if you can see this outside of the USA but watch Nickelodeon’s TMNT that has been a great series. It has been nominated for 10 awards and won a Daytime Emmey for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series. This from someone who grew up watching the Turtles.

Good show guys; had a chance to go see both movies this weekend, but neither really appealed. What is it with crap movies this year? Hopefully this will not continue into next year!
Can I just say its appalling the way that you guys have got on this weekend. I dont think laying in to each other Justin and Sam the way you have been is not professional I would not let my kids watch this anymore and the amount of swearing you guys do is appalling whether you bleep it out.
Some of the comments you have made towards Sam have been completely off hand and not what should happen on this website. Sam has been defending himself this weekend.
Wargamers get enough flack for playing with plastic miniatures we don’t need to be represented by people who do it to each other on a show dedicated for wargaming.
And come on people everyone should not take out a mortgage to buy miniatures there is no place on here where I can see people doing this on a budget and in our no job climate people are struggling to keep up with the hobby how about doing a show or a few videos on a budget and using Revell and Italeri figures to illustrate some of the battles in history. This show is turning in to one big advertisement for wargame companies and not following the heart of wargaming which is having fun but not spending you lifes savings on something most wargamers have not got.
I was totally offended by Justins comments and actions thrown at Sam. And totally discussed with Sam as well. This is not the sort of behavour that should be on a family show which is watched by my friends kids as well
