Sarissa Precision recently added some new 28mm MDF terrain to their collection that would be handy for all manner of different games set in Eastern Europe. These destroyed buildings could be good for games like The Silver Bayonet but also traditional Napoleonic games and World War II.

We start with the Destroyed East European Church which would work as a wonderful piece to use as the focal point of your games. As you can see, the terrain has been designed to show it in a state of some distress. This building has either been left to fall into disrepair because some terrible creature has threatened the locals or it has taken a few hits from heavy weapons during World War II.

The same goes for another of the feature pieces from this recent raft of releases, the Destroyed East European Windmill.

I think that these pieces would be really awesome when dropped into the middle of an abandoned town or somewhere deep in the heart of a very oppressive forest. You could imagine these hauntingly hollow buildings being surrounded by dense woodland where glaring red eyes peer out from the shadows at every turn.

To help add more character to your tabletops, you can also get two smaller buildings from Sarissa. These are the East European House and the Outhouse/Barn.

What's nice about these buildings is that you can have them assembled and liveable or you can have them smashed to pieces and torn apart by some terrible monster. Either a leshen has run through the middle of that building or a giant has given it a good stomping.

I think these are great because they either give you one single piece to work with on a smaller table or you can break them apart and use them to spread terrain out on a larger one. You could also make these terrain pieces interactive. They could start off as whole buildings and then get pulled apart during the course of gameplay. That would certainly happen the big, bombastic battles of World War II.

Could you be tempted by some of these buildings for your 28mm wargames?
