Archon Studio's Vanguard Of War is back on Kickstarter and since it has blown up on the funding platform they have smashed their target and are now looking towards Stretch Goals and more.

Vanguard Of War Main - Archon Studio

For those who don't know, Vanguard Of War is a tower defence tabletop game where you are playing as a selection of different heroes battling to keep the waves of enemies away from your precious core. Unlike a normal tower defence game, however, your heroes can step out there into the fray rather than having to rely on fixed guns or something.

We actually played the game which you can see in video form HERE.

Stretch Goals

As with every Kickstarter campaign, a lot has already been unlocked so far including some new and very interesting hero characters like Mechajaw here. Why just be an awesome dinosaur when you could be a dinosaur with a laser rifle strapped to your back I guess?

Next, we have another character which is a bit different. Here is Captain Copperbottom who certainly embraces the Steampunk vibe in his sculpt. Vanguard Of War is certainly a...melting pot...of ideas when it comes to the degree of characters and such available to you but I suppose you should look at this more like a fighting video game where you have a varied array of fighters to choose from.

You certainly can't fault Archon for their inventiveness and they have done a lot of interesting things with the sculpts for this game. If you're worried about the quality of the sculpts from all accounts many backers of the original game were happy with the end result.

Add-Ons

We also have a plethora of different Add-Ons for you to check out which give you alternative enemies and heroes to use on the tabletop. The first of these is the Judgement Expansion which you see below...

...followed by the Heretic Add-On and the Void Add-On. Both of these can be seen below with their array of interesting characters and options.

There are a lot of different ways for you to customise your pledge for Vanguard Of War so if you have been won over by the games aesthetic and the rules then make sure to hop on in. The campaign is likely to be very well funded at the end of the allotted time period so you shouldn't have much in the way of risk here.

Despite some setbacks in the past Archon seem to have been able to deliver on all of their promises as well so that is certainly a boon.

Which Add-On would you pick?
