As well as the new roleplaying game, Tales Of Xadia, it seems like The Dragon Prince is primed for tabletop domination this year. The frankly awesome cartoon series (well, at least in my opinion) is getting a new board game from Brotherwise Games called The Dragon Prince: Battlecharged.

The Dragon Prince Battlecharged - Brotherwise Games

The Dragon Prince: Battlecharged // Brotherwise Games

The Dragon Prince: Battlecharged is a new card-based tactical miniatures board game where you create two teams of heroes. With two-to-three heroes per side, you'll face off in epic duels that take place over one of six different battlemaps.

The base game will contain eight different characters covering Rayla, Ezran, Callum, Amaya, Janai, Viren, Claudia and Soren. Each of them comes with a miniature, hero card and deck of cards that are used in battle.

Battles themselves are played out using the game's energy charging system. Each character has a unique way of powering up. Rayla, for example, recharges her power by darting in and out of combat. Soren charges up when you attack him or his allies. You'll want to learn each character's fighting style and work out the best team for you.

This seems like a really fun way to dive in and experience the world of The Dragon Prince. With an age rating of ten, it should be easy enough for younger viewers of the show to get involved and have fun. For us older fans of The Dragon Prince, the tactical depth in building teams and choosing how and when to strike should be what we need to keep playing.

It also works with between two and six players meaning that you could dive in and experience this as a team game OR take command of an entire team solo. I must admit, I do really like The Dragon Prince and it's characters and I am very much into what Brotherwise have done here.

With pre-orders coming up in June, the game is set for a full release later on this year in the Autumn/Fall.
