Mantic Games continue their round-up of previews from their Open Day with a look at what's coming for Deadzone. The Forge Fathers are getting themselves a new sub-faction for this skirmish game with the Artificers powering up their weapons of war.

The Artificers were first introduced into the world of Warpath with Star Saga and the hero, Ogan Helkkare. The aesthetic for this hero has been carried over into this Forge Father subfaction and they certainly look like they enjoy killing as much as tinkering.

These Forge Fathers follow the Brokkrs into battle and make planetfall alongside the rest of your army. They are adept at fixing the machinery that is used to harvest the natural resources of the planet and they take grey joy in their work.

The miniatures are armed with an array of mining equipment which has been turned into weapons to use on their foes. They also feature those neat mechanical arms which aid them in combat too. All of this will come together to form a new resin subfaction starter set which also includes all you need to get going.

This massive mech is going to be stomping into battle for the Artificers and Forge Fathers in the near future too. Everyone's got to have a mech of some kind right? Watch out for additional options coming up in the next few months too including some alternative heads for your Steel Warriors too.
