Beast was funded by Studio Midhall on Kickstarter not too long ago and is now becoming available to snap up at retail. A hidden movement board game of hunter and hunted, Beast features stunning artwork and tense game mechanics. It's well worth taking a look at.

During gameplay, one player takes on the role of the eponymous Beast and stalks the land, looking to evolve and become more powerful throughout the game. On the other side of the bloody coin are the Hunters that have been tasked with dealing with the Beast and bringing it low before it can cause havoc.

There are a variety of different Beasts for you to play in the game and all of them will be stalking through the wilderness, only alerting folks to their presence when they attack or a Hunter stumbles over their trail. Card drafting means that resources are scarce and it's a game in of itself choosing which ones you need on a given turn and what you want to deny your opponents.

The Hunters will need to work together to corner the beast and bring it down. The Beast on the other hand is looking to cleverly strike at the right time and drag Hunters away into the darkness before they know what has happened.

How To Play Beast

With a variety of different Beasts to play as and the hidden movement mechanics making for tense gameplay decisions from turn to turn, Beast seems like it could be a lot of fun. If you missed out on the Kickstarter then make sure to look out for this at retail. It shouldn't be long before it's on shelves.

Shattered Isles is going to be coming to Gamfound in Autumn 2023 and will feature the Shattered Isles, the Great Hunt upgrade and more. As a fan of hidden movement games like Fury Of Dracula and Whitechapel, this caught my eye and might end up getting added to the collection!
