Medbury Miniatures have released their newest sets of 3D Printable 28mm Fantasy and Historical miniatures over on Patreon and MyMiniFactory. Starting with the Historical miniatures, Medbury have dove into the 5th and 7th Century and explored more of the Vendel Era with the Geats and the Swedes.

July Historical Releases - Medbury Miniatures

July Historical Releases // Medbury Miniatures

There is a great selection of different characters for you to pick up this month including characters like Beowulf,  King Hygelac and King Ogentheow. You've also got a grand collection of grim and dour Huscarls who are going to be fighting alongside their lords, keeping them alive on the battlefield.

Huscarls At Rest - Medbury Miniatures

Huscarls At Rest // Medbury Miniatures

I am absolutely loving the look of these miniatures with their big cloaks, chainmail and closed helms. All of these would be perfect for those looking to play out this particular period in history but they would also be great for taking you in a different direction and delving into the sagas instead. Plenty of these warriors would look great at the prow of boats, heading off to explore and raid or on windswept cliffs watching over their kingdoms.

All of these miniatures are available as STL Files right now during the month of July but they will also be available as physical miniatures in the future too. You're not going to miss out if you don't have a 3D Printer. As someone who really loves Beowulf and those stories, these look brilliant.

Fantasy Dwarves From The East

As well as dealing with the sagas of Beowulf, Medbury Miniatures is also looking to build a Dwarven collection inspired by a different culture. Rather than going down the Norse/Northern European route, these Dwarves from Gur-Adur are inspired by the Byzantines.

Dwarves Of Gur-adur - Medbury Miniatures

The idea behind these miniatures is that they've taken a note out of the history books and travelled East as the Vikings did. With that in mind, you've got that Byzantine and Varangian Guard vibe to their design. There are also cues from Babylonia with that Assyrian beard style, their shields, the use of Lamellar cuirass and more. It offers up a really fun way to play Dwarves that aren't going down the Chaos route!

Dwarf Warriors With Two Handed Weapons - Medbury Miniatures

Dwarf Warriors With Two-Handed Weapons // Medbury Miniatures

There is a good mix of different Dwarves in here with a bunch of weapons like two-handed weapons as well as those using big shields and single-handed weapons. You can create a good phalanx of Dwarves that could hold the line, especially in the close confines of a mountain tunnel when facing down Orcs and Goblins.

Medbury has talked about some upcoming miniatures like heroes and such which is nice for those that want to turn this into a proper warband on the tabletop. If you're someone who wants to dive into Middle-earth-styled games then these would be great for looking at the Dwarves that might have found themselves coming up against the forces of Khand and the Easterlings over on the Eastern fringes.

Are you going to be going with the Historical selection or the Fantasy one this month? Maybe both?!
