Yes the kangaroo cavalry is silly and that’s why I love them.
I certainly like the freedom that the Mortal Realms has given the GW crew.
I completely agree there! I love the wacky things they can add to the setting from time to time. It’s been talked about a bit, but I would love for them to do this kind of mad stuff with the Exodite Eldar, if they ever revisit them.
And bring back the wacky-ness in the Ork armies (both 40k and AoS) too.
They’ve become a little too serious for their own good.
While I’m sure they won’t do it, I would genuinely like to see some Digga Nobs come back… The Greenskins deff need some of their wackiness, though.
Still not first?
better than me, better than 3
3rd, better than 4th
My vote would be Battlefleet Gothic. It’s been a long time, it would also capitalize on the Asmodee / FFG / AMG Star Wars Armada “out of stock’ issue ( or limited edition ) and games workshop is easily available ( as long as it’s not Limited Edition. Have the old and older versions and enjoyed their simplicity and complexity at the same time ( like Warhammer Fanstasy battle 2nd and 3rd edition – the time of massed battles, a time long passed but not forgotten).
additional shout out to the Roo Riders, hate to say it but the steeds look great, if there was an unarmored version, that would be really good for fantasy cavalry.
Can’t really warm up to the realm lords. idk.
Brigade Models….. all the Celtos you could want!
There are quite a lot of the Celtos miniatures that I would be very happy to own just as individuals to paint.
I still do have a ton of those… from when they still where made by iKore. member iKore? 😉
yush
Damn, wife wants to watch a film… Looks like I’m going old school and spending Saturday morning with OTT in bed…
Weekender works well whatever the day 😉
happy weekender guys!!!!
Good to see you finally got to Brigade Models. One of my top 5 miniatures companies
I also knew there was something I meant to keep doing and so A billion suns has now been preordered
I have a feeling that Gerry is going to keep us very appraised of his progress with A Billion Suns over the next few weeks.
Just dusted off my German Dystopian War fleet. Looks like I’m going to have to dust off some BFG fleets as well! Billion Suns is getting ordered today
you won’t be disappointed
Yuss, it’s the weekend! Lumineth are weird, but good weird I think. I especially like it how many people DON’T like them. It means GW are really trying something different. I mean, Cow/Roo Elves. How awesome is that?
I do agree that it’s neat to see them trying something new. Good to have a unique selling point for your range.
I would like to volunteer to be the Tasty Boys fan club president.

So happy to see Brigade Models getting some well deserved attention and shared with the larger community. Hands down my favourite pusher of grade A class models feeding my habit since I set eyes on my first blower tank. Big fan of the David Drake Hamners Slammers universe, which I am currently re-reading for the umpteenth time by volume, and Brigade are my port of call for White Mice and Hogs since Ainsty castings…Brigade are a great bunch of people to deal with and every range they have is worth a peruse. You really should revisit, I do almost daily. I have a large order planned for early next month so I can start a 15mm Stewart Regiment force based around the sci-fi brits and neo soviet ranges then a Hiroseki force as listed on the John Treadaway Crucible site. Highly recommend looking at the building and accessory ranges in both 6 and 15mm, the research base is a favourite of mine. I recommend looking through the blog as well, Brigade have put up some easy to follow painting tutorials that involve some cheap alternatives and clever hacks to achieve great results.
We might have to really dive in and do Brigade as a double feature for Indie!
Brigade deserve all the attention given they are such a great bunch of people with top quality service. I was so happy to see Brigade models getting attention and shared with others, having Brigade models discussed on this weeks show was a nice surprise and made my week. Hope you all have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy your down time, see you Sunday ?
Seems pretty obvious to me the ? Is going to be Trolls in the Pantry. They were always going to re release this classic.
Or maybe Battle cars
If they go Battlefleet Gothic to try and steal the thunder of A Billion Suns, they could always do Dark Future since the video game is (finally) a thing and Gaslands was such a runaway hit.
Brewhouse Bash, gotta be
Re release of the Judge Dredd floorplans would also be good
I love the kangaroos! Welcome to the weekend everyone!!
Ah ICQ. An internet comms tool that relied on remembering long numbers. Progress!
It’s the Roomineth.
Very nice.
Brigade models Belgium’s have the dog cart machine guns. Gotta get that
it’s a superb range, I wonder how much could go into an African force for the Congo
Good show Lads. Just on GWs ‘Kangaroo Cav, kangaroo legs don’t separate when they move because they jump, not skip or run.
In regards to their mystery game, they have plenty of options. In the fantasy IP they could go; Mordheim, Old World, AoS Warmaster, AoS MoW (just out of spite to screw with Amarda),
In 40k they could go; Space Hulk, Epic, BFG, 30K, Space Crusade, a 40k version of Underworlds.
Whatever you think about GW, they are the masters of re-inventing the wheel (well, repackaging it after a 10% price increase at least).
Still got fingers crossed for The Old World or Mordheim
I think a new Mordheim would be a great way to re-introduce the Old World. It’s set in the age of Magnus. It would allow GW to move away from all empire factions being identical. Then if the followed the Warcry! example, they’d change settings like the crusade against Araby, colonisation of Lustria, etc all at the same time in Warhammer history.
I kind of doubt they’d do a game set in a world that isn’t either AoS or 40K itself.
So if they do Mordheim it will likely be ‘Age of Mordheim’.
They’ve already announced they are relaunching the Old World so games in that setting are on the schedule already.
Remember “squats are gone. Never again etc” then “oh look squats and zoats in relaunches of games we said we’d never do again!”
they did announce that they are working on something for the ‘Old world’, which in theory could be a re-launch/reboot of warhammer fantasy battles.
However I do wonder how much ‘extra’ we will get beyond that.
I suspect it will be more like the Lord of the Rings stuff they do. It will exist in the background with the bare minimum of support, unless it suddenly become popular.
Spending resources on something that is (for all intents and purposes) yet another fantasy setting ?
I’d argue that this would also mean we’re getting an official 30k setting too … (anything to sell even more space marines ;))
Wow what a great price!
YAY weekender time again.
Hearing Warzan and Brother Lloyd talk about their computer club made me think about how I got into computing. Waaaay back in the mid-to-late-’80s, I ran a BBS (electronic Bulletin Board Service) called “Wild Imaginings”. It was dedicated to RPGs and gaming. It had forums (similar to what you see on websites today), and file areas, but it also had PBeM (Play By eMail) games – electronic versions of the (in those days) popular Play By Mail games. Users could only dial-in one at a time because it used a dedicated telephone line and every morning at around 2am, it would get a call from another BBS in my ‘chain’ to upload/download messages and content, before placing a call to the next BBS in the chain.
I started it on my first PC, a Compaq 286/XT using a 300 baud modem. In its lifetime I managed to upgrade it to a 386SX, then a 486 and went through various speed modems – 1200/75, 1400, 2800, 9600, 33.6k and finally a 56k one before the Internet became a thing and I abandoned it and went mad by subscribing to Telewest (now Virgin Media) broadband and found my first MMORPG, Meridian 59 and then lost over a decade of my life playing EverQuest.
Ah, happy days…
I reckon the mysterious GW game will be Battlefleet Gothic or the old world.. Probably gothic
I agree, but I’m hoping for something Mordheim.
Mordheim would be excellent but I think maybe not thanks to Warcry. A revival of any of their old IPs would suit me fine.
Had missed that those Conquest minis were resin, and all unique. That’s a fantastic touch. Very impressed with Para Bellum.
The Bow-Chosen are pretty darn exceptional. Almost enough to get me diving into the game heh
the ships look great.
I’m putting my hat in the ring for the mystery game to be a re-release of that Battle of the Five Armies re-skin of Warmaster they did a while back, purely because nobody’s suggested it yet.
Either that or a 54mm 40k basketball game called Dunquisitor.
I first thought of an old movie called Warriors of Virtue circa 1997. I like them. Good stuff.
kiloBITS per second, surely?
Hay guys you ll need to get Justin to borrow Santa’s slay to fly around throwing holly water everywhere?.
Lol https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=spike+milligan+what+are+we+going+to+do+now&&view=detail&mid=C293791F0AC76512D467C293791F0AC76512D467&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dspike%2520milligan%2520what%2520are%2520we%2520going%2520to%2520do%2520now%26qs%3DAS%26form%3DQBVR%26sp%3D1%26ghc%3D1%26pq%3Dspike%2520milligan%2520wha%26sc%3D8-18%26cvid%3DACCE99299DC7460A98BED620C910A651
IT’S THE wEEKEND!
And just so you know, GW have been trolling you for the last 1,000+ weekends!
get Napoleon brandy its around 20 Quid a bottle @warzan
Ooh the sci-fi terrain/ buildings look great.
a fab show Guys.
Happy weekend everyone
It’s the Weekender!
@warzan @lloyd my first modem was a 300 baud. Tiny little black box and yet the joy and happiness it delivered was mesmerizing. Took a freeking good long time to download any detailed graphic though. Back in those days it was more connecting with BBS’s.
I like the kangaroos for AOS but will mod them just a bit. They remind me of the Zots that we used to ride in the Ultimate Online game. Ah the memories! ??
I hope it will be Mordheim. I’m following a Mordheim group on Facebook and realy love the esthetics of thuis game.
there are some great alternatives out there for minis that have the same aesthetics, Heresy Labs in particular have some great stuff and an upcoming range that are perfect
Thanks for the tip. I will give it a look.
a load arrived today with me to review so keep your eyes peeled
That kangaroo cav is missing the mark for me. Unique doesn’t always equal good to me.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on all the AoS elf releases.
For the kangaroo cav, it looks like the armour would prevent the animal from bending its neck down.
Kangaroo cavalry pfft… If you want to devastate your enemy, you need Emu cavalry. Trust me, us ozzies have already lost one war to them and they are only going to get stronger……
breed them with Cassowaries for ultimate damage
Thats for the breakthrough regiment..lol
Looking forward to that new DG codex!
Not familiar with battlefield gothic or mordheim as I was away from gw for decades.
I reckon the ‘?’ will be something really bland that I won’t be excited about.
And Teclis is such a dull guy. The lumineth are the really boring elves, too ‘nice’… Remind me of the elder in 40k.
The Daughters of Khaine and Drukhari are just so much more interesting.
I feel the same, no matter what it turns out to be I feel I’ll be a bit disappointed. If they gave us a hint rather than leaving it open-ended then I could temper my expectations a little.
Maybe it would be an idea to do a Miniatures STL file Patreon of the week.
I got into 3d printing and found Patreon a great place to find great stl files for miniature.
There are so many that I’m constantly looking for the best ones to back. My limit is 2 (well I joined 3 now so one has to go). But picking the best 2 is very difficult.
the problem is nearly all of them are behind paywalls, so finding the stuff is difficult
I wonder whether GW will have a 40k equivalent of Underworlds. Small teams, more of a boardgame, a riff off Inquisitor. The cynicism of suggesting Battlefleet Gothic is probably well merited, but by the same extent they could resurrect Man ‘O War, maybe with an AoS setting, since there has been another fantasy fleet game recently launched.
they tried a badly thought out version with Dreadfleet that was so piss poor I think as much as they would like to stick the boot into Mantic they will give it a miss. But never say never
At the moment I’m just look forward to the release of the Crimson Court. These small war bands can pack in a lot of detail and character and it’s about time GW revisited vampires. ??
omg now thats a prize i would love to win
I desperately want battlefleet Gothic to be announced today but I’m going with epic. They already have Titanicus and aeronautica out in 8mm now so releasing 8mm epic makes the most logical sense since they’ve got the big stompy robots and planes sorted.
Those resin Nords are really nice. I’ve been painting my way through the starter set and the models are not the best. Good for rank and flank repetative models you can get tabletop ready results with relatively fast and simple, but dissapointing otherwise. Those bow-chosen look exceptional. I hope thats their design choice going forward. Low price, low effort rank and flank, and high quality special pieces scattered throughout the army.
Oh, and Bow Chosen is a dumb name. Were they chosen by the bows, or did they just pick a bow at bows-r-us?
Regarding the mysterious annoucent for GW: if Kill Team wasn’t already on there I would have plugged for something big on that with the rumours going around of a possible 2nd Edition what with all the glib remarks of something coming (unless that was meant when they announced rules for the Indomitus models but I would give the current GW PR machine with just a little more credit than that).
Goven it’s by game on the graphic I suppose it must be related either to a new game or something big for one that’s not already on the list.
Personally I’m hoping for Battlefleet Gothic as its never been contemporary to my time in the hobby. Or maybe Gorka Morka is making a return in the wake of that orc model from over Christmas.
Funnily enough I have some Celtos minis on their way to me. Great range of minis.
Napoleons Imperium is just a more complicated Risk lol…
Looking forward to cake reviews at “Feasts of War”
On Tabe top has never been more apt
Really excited for some of the new releases, Death Guard, Stargrave, and another cool indy of the week. I’ve been sitting on my Death Guard stuff since Dark Imperium so I guess I better get a move on, a whole edition passed me by 😀
Man i love these Underworlds Warbands, awesome Sculpts and with a few extra Models added, one can easily field them in Warcry too. A new Version of Mordheim would definitly slay but Warcry somewhat took that place. Maybe they bring back Inquisitor with smaller Models or the next incarnation of Warhammer Quest in AoS Territory. BUT What i would absolutly kill for would be a new Gorkamorka hands down!
So After all the discussions the answer was Warhammer Quest. Anybody have that as a guess?
Weekender… Sweet
Kangaroo cavalry is shite, what were the designers smoking at that point
“You say ‘why?’ but we say ‘why not?'”.
– Citadel designers, probably.
It’s the weekend and I’ve dedicated my afternoon to hobby! (my family has been put on notice)
Good to have some company at my hobby desk while I work.
Every faction has it strong points and yuk points in Age of Sigmar, with the elves not being my person favorite, but I did enjoy the vampire models (minus the bat hair). Looking forwar to the return of the old world
I sort of like the elves but I love the Vampires
Just remember the Celtos stuff is old school 28mm… so almost more 25mm based on todays standards… so definitely a bit smaller than what we get from most companies now… and despite the chunky sculpts, not sure it will go with a lot of other products from other companies depending on what you have… I still have some elves and dwarves for my rpgs and I definitely was looking at these for some Saga Warbands and Warlords of Erehwon.
The light blue icon for Direchasm/Underworlds is same color as the high aelf faction that we saw… so Skaeth’s Wild Hunt and the wood elves were an olive green.
Hop into battle!
I’m so happy they discarded the old world, that way we can have kangaroo cavalry…
hmmm more Death Guard still haven’t finished my conquest ones yet more minis morre
TinkerTurf sci fi terrain looks interesting. I’m always looking for terrain that I can pack up nicely. These seem great on both accounts.
Does anybody know if there are any other companies(in Europe) that do this type of cardboard terrain?
Heck yeah, needed this for the weekend. I missed like all of the blue monday streams!
fingers crossed for he expo, but not convinced it will be safe for the majority by then
Another Great Weekender Guy’s
dammit kangaroos, you here again, keep distance from me for once xD
Great show guys. I have to agree with you the new high elf stuff has to be an inside troll at gw. Not saying they look bad but the direction seems a bit odd to me.
Pretty much how I feel about all of AoS with the exception of chaos. Not hating on it, it’s just… different.
Happy monday! I forgot to come back and finish on saturday…
Welcome back Warren!
Like i said on the post itself, i really can’t say anything positive on the Lumineth preview… in fact, i hate about 85% of the army itself!
Now i’ll be catching up to the XLBS!
Thanks for the show
happy monday!!
Do like the Cyber punk. Went down the rabbit hole with Brigade.
In for the win for some Plaguey boys please!
I think the new elves are a perfect example of overthinking…
