Classic Style + New Warmachine Minis = PERFECTION? #OTTWeekender
August 15, 2025 by crew
It's OTTWeekender time! Steamforged Games has smashed it out of the park with their NEW Warmachine miniatures that echo a classic style that WE think is absolutely amazing. Could these be the best new miniatures for Warmachine that we've seen so far?
We talk about the brand new miniatures for the two factions, House Kallyss and Orgoth and how they remind us of the glorious Warmachine and Hordes sculpts of old. Sometimes, the classic look is the best and these are perfect for fans of Fantasy wargaming.

Först! (well, first to comment randomly. Will watch tomorrow morning. Now of to a “short round” of Dawn Of War)
😁❤️🤞🏻
I love it
The Warbases terrain is so tempting
Yeah I am tempted by the Dark Age and Wild West stuff
Mods in Dawn of War makes me think there will be space marines wearing parkas riding on Lambrettas.
Off to doodle some A4 paper battlefields to try out Greathelm
Will be cool to see what you make!
Warmachine stuff is pretty cool to be fair
That dragon from Dragonbane is fantastic!
yeah all the sculpts are really nice, can’t wait for the minis
The buildings from Warbases do look interesting, for that price I might pick some up.
What, actual cloaks for your minis.
Another Friday winner chaps
The couple of packets of ‘Weaves of War’ cloaks I ordered arrived yesterday. I’ve no specific models in mind yet, but I’m sure they’ll get used sooner rather than later.
Very cool – yeah I’m eager to test them out with Burrows & Badgers
Yay weekender time folk’s 👍
Love it ♥️🤞🏻🤞🏻
Good show guy’s 👍
I think Cylena was leader of a small group in Warmachine 2 and 3. If it was her… then I recall the metal assembly was a nightmare to assemble with really thin arms and much swearing on my part.
The Nyss look great through.
Yeah I think the updates are great – it’s also cool to see older characters coming back again
I played Warmachine for years and I’ve always liked their models, but those Nyss just don’t gel with me. Not 100% sure why. I know I think those swords don’t fit the models. They can’t fit their hands around them. They’re 70mm scale swords in 32mm scale hands. There’s also something GWish about them I can’t put my finger on. I do much prefer the Orgoth models, even if they do look like Ossiarch Bonereapers, and those heavies look like that Abyssal Dwarf machine you had up last week, with the serial numbers filed off. Not a fan of the inlaid skulls on the blades. The pattern is too regular. They used to look like a sea of souls. Now it looks like skull themed wallpaper of the repetitive pattern of a designers logon on a handbag. It’s too regular. I’m going to blame CAD design for that.
Never looked into Warmachine because my least favorite fellow gamer in my area loves it so it was hard no just to avoid playing with him at the FLGS
You could do another whole show talking about chocolate snacks and don’t even need to rebrand, OnTableTop would work just fine.
Also, mods for Dawn of War have been around for quite a while (and were more focused on polishing and expanding the game than on anything wild). I guess this is just more of an official acknowledgement, and maybe a straighter way to implement them in the game.
Yeah, think it was just so that folks knew the mods weren’t going anywhere
Nice one:)
Really love the Warmachine lore, love steampunk and like the minis…but never get tempted to pick them up. Even more baffling as I generally have the impulse control of a toddler on their fifth bag of skittles
Weave of War should do camo patterns next so we could have cameleoline cloaks for 40k!
That would be super cool – could well be on the cards!
Finalll time to catch up, weekender and XLBS ! what a treat
Nice to see older Warhammer represented, it generates far more of a buzz than the newer representations.
For sure – classic Warhammer ftw. Love me some old Marines etc
The cloaks are such a simple idea, but so effective
Great show. The Warmachine elves look awesome. Those of us of a certain vintage will always associate ears of that magnitude of pointyness with ElfQuest.
The Buildings from war bases look great for Flatcaps and Truncheons. Good old british mobsters up north. Yeh they look wicked and decently priced.
