first….just finished watching. Really enjoyed this episode as it covered as an indie, a board game and historical ( Yay to Free for choosing this ). Good to see that Revolution Games has a good catalog of games. Like Compass games, they have a good selection. Some are made for Solo play, others you can just play it via Vassel or other means but it
s easier to play Gettysburg or Waterloo in its entirety than painting 1000s of soldiers or just battling a little part of it. As for the Dread Fleet, the Ekranoplan is based on the true lifeCaspian Sea Monster ( NATO;s code name ) the Wing in Ground Effect was basically a super hovercraft that could fly above the water at tremendous speeds but at ta height of about 50-100 feet. The Engines were near the front cockpit and the cannisters on top of the fuselage were the missile containers. There were quite a few variants, the cold war ended that project but what a cool project that was. Again, great to see all. and the Loke Battle mat books are fantastic.+1 ekranoplans are awesome. I love that they’re a thing in this game
Reality once again proving that it is stranger than fiction …
you may be 1st but did you watch the Greatest Movie ever Made???
Yes, i make it a point to watch 2001 A Space Odyssey every year.
WRONG
what’s your choice….if i can ask. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but as Rod Serling said, if everyone was beautiful, no one would be.
NOT ONE OF US, NOT ONE OF US, NOT ONE OF US
Love me some Loke battlemat books.
Is there a Dirty Harry in the future? Do you feel lucky cyberpunk?
6 minutes into the episode an already I’m taking outtakes….
We aim to please
The bag option for games has been around for a long time though havent seen it used as a buying option for a while
It’s the Weekend!
Anyone else starting to think Weekends are becoming a bit passé and over-rated?
No? Good!
Somegeezer meets mats? Could be!
Thanks very much for featuring THE ART OF… Kickstarter. Myself and the artists are all very excited to create some great books and set the foundations for the series ongoing 🙂
Cheers
Dave

Want to get my hands on those plastic wild west minis to see if they’ll kitbash with other plastic kits. I really want to make up a space cowboy squad for Stargrave.
I reckon you’d find they work quite well.
The Loke books would work well for creating some new Star Saga scenarios.
i love those battle books they are so useful
YAY its weekender time.
Gerry is smashing those intro now!
the others refuse to do them
@avernos I want to hear you do voice-overs for fantasy and sci-fi film trailers from now on… ??
Love the original Ghosts… Not 100% on these.
I’m not that attached to the old miniatures so these new ones have me intrigued.
I’m pretty impressed with the new Gaunt’s Ghosts minis and the up and coming Cadian Upgrade sprue. ? I hope that the new minis will mean some hawkers on eBay will lose their market with their over-inflated prices on the original Gaunt’s Ghosts minis? ?
repent thy sins Gerry before an inquisitor sentences you to being cleansed with holly fire.
the starting troops are from tanith but gaunt didn’t Ben
the land of the dead film the zombies can cross water free
There is a fiver on the way to Pat the light bill Gerry.
Imagine a new map every day, yes please.
My favourite SAGA drinking game! Welcome to the weekend!
fingers crossed the Expo will go ahead.
It’s the Weekender. ?? Party with your Plastic!
Really like the Kragnos model and a most on picking up the Kragnos book as it has updates for Cities of Sigmar and other updates.
I also want the Gravelords models but I will be modding them a bunch. I really think many of these minis were ment to be additions/expansions to ‘Cursed City’. Correction @avernos I managed to get a box of ‘Curser City’ as well as the Hardback novel with 9th Hero stat card, so there are some out there. I imagine many boxes are still in the hands of scalpers and maybe in an unmarked GW warehouse being slowly sold off by front men selling for GW at the $100.00 extra price through eBay. Or not! ?. Probably just a shortage and price hi-mark caused by Brexit or what-not.
nice one guys.
Great show. So I noticed that Radukar The Beast and Belladama Volga are not on the larger image.
Where these supposed to be released for Cursed City and then cancelled/repurposed? Seems like Cursed City might have had a big plans until it was cancelled (still not sure why).
Possibly – I have the feeling that there is still some interesting things happening behind the scenes with Cursed City.
GIANT book? It comes in PINTS??
I’m getting one… ?
And here we go, weekend starts now. I love the map books.
Good choice for indie of the week. I have always been sceptical of those hex based grand scale wargames. Perhaps because they seemed too abstract for me? But a look at them with you guys has made me reconsider and I’m thinking I should perhaps try one. Perhaps a ziplock version as an easy entry?
Worth a shot – pick a period of history you like and go for it. They can be interesting puzzles to solve.

He has a lot of boardgame play throughs for me they’re very engaging but I can see that some people would be out as soon as they’ve seen it.
Oooo, thanks. I’ll definitely have a look!
Happy weekend. Love the new Oathmark stuff, might have to reappropriate some of those miniatures for Frostgrave.
Must say I’m drifting away from GW’s style of miniatures. I really don’t like their style of sharp edges. Its really starting to look more cartoony.
That Dungeons and Lasers Kickstarter looks very tempting, but there’s just so much stuff I want I’m not sure I can justify getting even more. It does look good though.
The Loke game mat books looks great! Shadow run rooms here we come.
Will Gerry be doing audio books in the future? My misses would buy one in a heart beat! Loves his smooth tones!
The Loke battlemat books are great. I have a few of them, two giant ones and an A4 size. I use the A4 to take on holiday to play small quick skirmish games…Myself and the teen have used it to play quick games at the airport and on the plane, with a handful of minis.
Lots of fantastic content!
I wonder if GW will ever add more of Gaunt’s Ghosts in the future.
Possibly, although I’d reckon they might come up as resin additions via Forge World.
Another pleasant Friday evenings listening, With all the Syi Fi releases coming out at the moment the Battle mats would really come in useful.
Morning all he says despite the fact it’s the afternoon
I’d probably consider using Gaunt’s group in Kill Team, even if they don’t put up rules. They give a lot of character to the normally very static looking guards.
Put me in mind of ‘The Bad Batch’, actually.
100% agree, I can’t wait for face-to-face gaming.
Great show there and the image of naked Johnsons and Johnsons being chased by a pitchforked @brennon has made me laugh.
The books look nice. I would be tempted to remove the spiral binding.
I agree with Gerry regarding the Ultramarines. Imagine showing up after being away for 10,000 years, your sons have been running their own empire after your own pet codex project tried to limit the power of everyone else, then you start appointing High Lords of Terra.
The absolute gall.
Great show, great prize!
Love those Loke map books, would be perfect for an Xcom style game Ive been thinking about creating!
Lol… all I can hear in my head as Gerry opens the show with a gravelly voice like every 80’s scifi post-apoc film is “The year is 2021, in a world gone mad…”
would love to have those books 🙂
I do like the Loke map books, put 2 together and you have your skirmish battle ready to go. Saves space and easy to take to a friends house(curse this tiny hobbit hole of an apartment!). The Paragon warsuits look better than the other ones for the Grey Knights, so…improvement and the character is over the top looking to the regular warsuits. I guess these are better options to the Sister’s penitent engines which seemed very squishy compared to tanks.
Do like the minis for the Old West Dead man’s hand, like they give options for open shotguns. It’s always nice to have some customization and make your figs stand out.
Hurrah for the weekend!
Mortal Kombat miniature game 🙂
More incredible books from the folks @ Loke? Really great stuff.. perfect timing with Stargrave landing just the other day!!!
Agreed with a few others, great episode covering a lot of aspects of gaming! Glad to be entertained for again for a nice start to the weekend!
The Loke books look very nice.
Can see them working for Stargrave, and a new find for me, 5 Parsecs From Home.
@brennon I’ll take a stab at dissuading you of your claim that know one will recognise “tell your nan”. Would that be reference to Dael Kingsmill of Monarchs Factory?
It would indeed haha
I like the Loke battle mat books, I just backed their latest Kickstarter. I’m finding it quite exciting about UK Games Expo going ahead, normality appears to be returning. I hope other shows will return soon.
Brilliant show guys, fantastic new stuff on the horizon
Keep it up folks
What a great show guys and good to see an old wargame make it to Indi of the week
Happy wednesday again! Promise to be on time this friday 😉
Really love the new Gaunt’s Ghosts! Not enough to redo an Imperial Guard army though but, i would be down for a Kill Team if we ever go for it…
I don’t really like the new drake-vamp but, really love the rest of that army (would still remove the bats from the hair of one vamp 🙂 ) but, at 3 AoS army and one small contingent order ally, i most probably won’t go for them… or maybe one or two ally box…
Kragnos sounds fun
Dungeons & Lasers looks fun
I’m not sure about the Paragon suits, but I welcome the new additions to the Sororitas!
This was a cool Weekender!
The new North Star models are good
