Beat Em Up uses the Traders Galaxy Core Rules with the addition of the Beat Em Up Expansion set. You can get your hands on both of these sets of rules over on the Traders Galaxy website where you can download them for free.

Chuck Peters - Beat Em Up

At its heart, Beat Em Up is a one-to-five-player game where one player takes on the role of the villains and acts like a Games Master, trying to stop the other heroes from getting through all nine zones during a game. The other characters play as the various heroes from the game and will use teamwork, strategy and tactics in order to kick and punch their way through thugs and goons.

Once you've beaten up a bunch of thugs and goons, your characters can level up by getting more training and perhaps bringing weapons to the next level. At that point, you'll be ready to dive into a new level and try and work your way towards that final boss!

The miniatures themselves are looking great and draw lots of fascinating ideas from retro fighting games like  Streets Of Rage and Double Dragon. All of them have been given a distinct "Bot War Universe" vibe though and tied into the battle for or against COILS.

The miniatures are going to be produced in resin, much like a lot of the new Bot War miniatures by Traders Galaxy. They have been working with the material for a while now and produced crisp and finely detailed miniatures which should be great fun for you to paint. You can get a look at some painted examples of their miniatures below!

When it comes to pledging for Beat Em Up, there are a few different options for you to choose from. You can get your hands on just the heroes or just the villains, perhaps if you just want to test the waters or like the idea of painting them. You can go up a step though and get your hands on enough miniatures to play a game of Beat Em Up.

Level Up Pledge - Beat Em Up

You get each of the heroes alongside one of each of the Thugs plus a Goon and two Bosses. You can also go up a level (hah) to play out more of Beat Em Up and then the top-end pledge gives you everything that you need for a full multiplayer experience. It is worth having a peek at the Kickstarter to see which pledge level works for you.

Beat Em Up seems like a great way for you to dive into playing out a different style of miniatures game but one from a familiar universe. You can now dive into a lot of fun wargames from the Bot War Universe now!

Will you be checking out Beat Em Up on Kickstarter?
