In their Christmas video for this year, Battlefront Miniatures and Gale Force Nine revealed a new game coming out in April 2024. Clash Of Steel will see tank battles on the tabletop in an alternative history where World War II ended in 1944 and restarted in 1948!

Clash Of Steel will feature familiar tanks from World War II plus those that were in the stages of development before The War ended as we move into a bit of a "What If?" scenario with the game. The first of the sets will feature the Americans going up against the Soviets...

...whilst the second will have the British clashing with the Germans once more. These will be part of the first wave that will be called Operation: Unthinkable which seems apt considering the restarting of hostilities between the various powers in this 1940s period.

Everything that you need to play the game will be included as part of the Starter Sets including your rules, playing surface, cards, dice and more. Driven by the core Flames Of War mechanics, it should be a doddle for anyone familiar with the game to pick up.

Clash Of Steel will be full-on tank-on-tank combat so if you're looking for infantry, you won't find that here. Additionally, the game has been balanced through the use of nifty scenario generation so that "no one nation or tank can dominate the battlefield". The random mission set-up cards and objective cards allow you to think on the fly. Additionally, even if you've been knocked off the tabletop you could still win in somewhat of a pyrrhic victory.
