For those not familiar with V For Victory (said Five For Victory), this is a set of skirmish wargaming rules for World War II where you have around thirty figures per side. Occasionally, your infantry might then be joined by one or two vehicles (like tanks or half-tracks) depending on the scenario. The main focus is on the infantry engagements though so it's perfect for folks wanting to dive in and play a game with perhaps just one box of plastic miniatures.

Your 28mm miniatures will battle it out over a 120cm by 120cm battlefield using a card-based mechanic to determine the initiative and then the actions that you can give to one of your units on the tabletop. This means that you've got a very close-quarters battle where all of your choices matter when it comes to manoeuvring and choosing who is going to fight. The name Five For Victory comes from the fact that you'll be resolving your attacks and such using d6, d8 and d10 where you simply need a five to succeed. It's a good play on words for the title!

If you'd like to know more, we talked about it at length during our latest Weekender show.

The game is sounding great and will cover the later period of World War II from around 1943 through to 1945. You'll find rules included in the rulebook for Great Britain, the US, Germany and your Soviets. Within each of these, there will also be specific army lists tied to iconic elements of each nation's army. If you want to specifically run Fallschirmjäger or the Airborne for example, you'll be able to do so.

V For Victory Cards & Tokens

In addition to the Rulebook, you can also pick up the required accessories to play V For Victory. That means the Card Deck and your Tokens.

We're very excited about V For Victory here at OnTableTop and I think it's going to be a good stepping stone for people to dive into World War II before playing bigger games like Chain Of Command or Bolt Action.
