Para Bellum Wargames have another fun miniature to snap up for the Old Dominion of Conquest this week. Leading from the front, an ancient general given new life, the Mounted Strategos is going to be charging into the heart of the action for this 35mm Fantasy wargame.

The Mounted Strategos are the epitome of the ancient warrior code of the Old Dominion. They are bonded with their mounts and are experts in the saddle. The wealth on display when they charge into battle when it comes to their arms and armour is second to none.

Whilst these Strategos might have seen better days, the strength and character of these mighty generals continue in death. They are adept at fighting in the heart of combat but also commanding from afar, watching over affairs and strategising in order to make the battle flow well.

It helps that the miniature is bloomin' awesome. I love the way they have done the skeletal steed and used the armour to get rid of some of the more quirky elements of a horse skeleton. The rider on the back is also terrifying and powerful looking. I love that his face mask is semi-raised, offering a look at the dead warrior beneath. You get a look at the man as he would have been in life and what remains of him many, many years later.
