The folks at Spectre Miniatures are expanding their collection of miniatures for use in their spin-off game, Cosmic Horror. You can now get your hands on a bunch of new mystery solvers as well as a few folks who would be happy if you left their corner of America alone!

Mythos Detectives - Spectre Mythos

Mythos Detectives // Spectre Operations: Cosmic Horror

We start with a pair of Mythos Detectives that could represent law enforcement from the early 20th Century. Because of their attire, they could also get away with being private investigators or perhaps even gangsters who have found themselves falling foul of some eldritch entity. They are armed with a .38 revolver and a 1911 semi-automatic pistol plus flashlights which can be a double-edged sword. Sometimes you don't want to see the monster hiding in the shadows.

Next up, we're checking out the New England Police who will be walking the beat and no doubt getting themselves dragged into all sorts of strange situations.

These officers could add some extra muscle to your various investigations and could either find themselves being a help or a hindrance depending on the route your tale takes. All of them have revolvers but two men are carrying shotguns in the form of the Winchester 1897 and the Itaca. The shotgun is the weapon of choice for many a Cthulhu-based investigator so it would be handy to have some with you.

Hidden Threats

As well as these allies above, you can also get some foes for you to face during your scenarios. The Hybrids find themselves living amongst the urban and now rural parts of New England with their own secret, hidden agendas.

Inhuman horrors dwell among us and these fellows have been gifted with long life and an understanding of things not of this world. They carry old weapons like the Colt Navy Revolver which is a relic of the Civil War and the Winchester 1873 which Wild West folk will be familiar with. Maybe their owners lived through such times or have had these weapons handed down to them over the years.

These would be perfect for hidden or not-so-hidden threats that you come up against during your games. You could mix them in with regular folk or have them ready to jump your investigators as they get stuck deeper into the unfolding story.

Last but not least there is the "thing" that they have been protecting, the gibbering mound that is the Shoggoth.

Shoggoth - Spectre Mythos

Shoggoth // Spectre Operations: Cosmic Horror

Extremely hard to kill and prone to driving you utterly insane, the Shoggoth would be a good way for you to finish off an adventure. You could have a lot of fun painting this in the inky black style they have done here or utterly glowing with colour (from out of space).

These are some great new additions to the Spectre Operations: Cosmic Horror range. It's becoming harder to ignore this spin-off game that's for sure!
